Arsenal v Manchester City Match Preview

Rangers enter the game with mixed momentum. A much-needed morale-boost came from their 2-0 win over Hibernian in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals, with Nico Raskin opening the scoring and Bojan Miovski netting his first goal for Rangers. However, domestically things have been sluggish: their Scottish Premiership campaign has been underwhelming, with a winless run that’s drawn criticism from fans and raised pressure on manager Russell Martin.

Genk are also having a rough stretch. They sit low in the Belgian Pro League (around 14th after eight games), having lost back-to-back home fixtures including a late defeat to league leaders Union Saint-Gilloise. Their defensive vulnerabilities have been on display, as have their inconsistent attacking outputs. Despite qualifying for Europa League via convincing wins (including a 5-1 second leg vs Lech Poznań), recent shifts in form have raised questions about their ability to deliver under pressure.

Why Each Leg Makes Sense

Rangers to win
Rangers have had a shocking start to the season but Ibrox on a European Night is something different. An intense atmosphere will warm Genk and this typically drivers Rangers on to iconic european moments. A much needed win at the weekend may also settle some of the tension at the club and Rangers are a good price here for the win.

Both Teams to Score – YES
Both teams have looked fragile at moments this year. Rangers have looked like conceding in every game and were on the end of a hammering in the Champions League qualification stages to Brugge. Genk have also started really poorly and look vulnerable at the back. Neither defences are filled with confidence so the BTTS market looks good here.

Over 8.5 corners
With bad defences on both sides, we expect lots of attacking intent and play. This in turn should lead to lots of final 3rd entries, shots and attacking moments to cause corners. We are playing it on the safer side with the lower end of the corners, but a good overall market to enhance the bet builder.
