NFL Playoffs - Jacksonville Jaguars v Buffalo Bills

The NFL Playoffs continue on Sunday as the Buffalo Bills face the Jacksonville Jaguars in a high-stakes postseason matchup with a place in the next round on the line. Both teams arrive with confidence earned over the course of the regular season, setting the stage for a compelling clash between contrasting styles and ambitions as the margins tighten in January football.

Buffalo enter the contest looking to impose their tempo and experience, having built a reputation for strong performances in pressure situations. Jacksonville, meanwhile, come in as a dangerous opponent capable of disrupting expectations, armed with a balanced approach and the belief that they can compete with anyone on their day. With preparation complete, execution will be everything when the intensity inevitably rises.

Playoff games often hinge on moments rather than stretches, and this matchup is unlikely to be any different. Third-down efficiency, red-zone execution, and the ability to capitalise on turnovers will loom large as both sides push for control. With little room for error and everything at stake, Sunday’s contest promises a tense and finely balanced battle.

Jacksonville Jaguars v Buffalo Bills - Insights & Analysis

Key Matchups

Bills Passing Attack vs Jaguars Secondary
Buffalo’s ability to move the ball through the air will be central to their offensive game plan. The Jaguars’ secondary will be tested by Buffalo’s willingness to attack all levels of the field, and their ability to stay disciplined in coverage will be crucial. If Jacksonville struggle to limit explosive plays, Buffalo can quickly seize control of the game.

Jaguars Run Game vs Bills Front Seven
Jacksonville will look to establish balance by leaning on the run game to control tempo and keep Buffalo’s offence off the field. The Bills’ front seven must hold firm at the point of attack and tackle cleanly to prevent the Jaguars from consistently setting up manageable third downs.

Third-Down Efficiency
In a playoff environment, extending drives is critical. Both teams will place a heavy emphasis on third-down execution, and the side that consistently converts in key situations will gain a decisive edge in field position and momentum.

Tactical Preview

Buffalo are expected to play with tempo and aggression, using a mix of quick passing and selective downfield shots to stress the Jaguars’ coverage. Offensively, the Bills will look to stay efficient on early downs, while defensively they’ll aim to apply pressure without exposing themselves to big plays.

Jacksonville’s approach is likely to focus on balance and patience. Expect the Jaguars to lean on controlled possessions, play-action, and situational execution to stay within striking distance. Defensively, they will look to disguise coverages and force Buffalo into longer drives rather than allowing quick scores.

With playoff stakes heightening every decision, situational football will be decisive. Red-zone execution, clock management, and special teams contributions could all swing momentum in what shapes up to be a tightly contested matchup.

Players to Watch

Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen (QB): His ability to create plays both inside and outside the pocket remains central to Buffalo’s postseason hopes.
James Cook (RB): A key weapon in both the run and passing game, offering balance and explosiveness.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence (QB): Poised under pressure, his decision-making and accuracy will be crucial in a playoff environment.
Travis Etienne (RB): A versatile threat capable of influencing the game as both a runner and receiver.

Why Each Leg Makes Sense

Buffalo Bills Moneyline

This is a pickem game. The moneyline is completely level and it is probably correct. This selection is purely based off experience. The Bills have been in the playoffs for a number of years and always seem to make it past the Wildcard game. Their squad is arguably worse than last year, but they have the best Offensive line in football, an alient at QB in Allen and the 2nd best secondary in the NFL, key positions to win, even if the receivers are poor.

Josh Allen Anytime TD Scorer

This is playoff Josh Allen and if we know anything about him, he will put his body on the line to get in the endzone. He will use his legs more, take more risks and anywhere around the goal line, he will be tush pushing his way into the endzone.

Parker Washington 40+ receiving yards

Washington has been a great story for the Jags this year and his volume has increased as the season has developed. He is receiving more targets, more receptions and particularly in his last 4 matches, has been well above this required line. Despite the Bills secondary being good, we like him to still get the yards needed.

Dalton Kincaid to record a 15+ yard reception

The Bills have a great tight end group and Kincaid is now fit again which is massive. He has some nice odds on a 15 yard reception and is likely to receive around 5 targets giving his a great chance to hit this for us.
