Small field handicap here in the third race on the Lingfield card and the obvious answer to this race is Beaumadier. After some hit and miss performances early last month bounced right back lto at Wolverhampton when winning comfortably by over 3 lengths. Returns to Lingfield today over the same trip and this is a course this six year old has some good performances at. Had an awful draw lto at Wolverhampton but gets a cracker today from stall 1. 3lb well in under a penalty and looks set to complete a double. Billy Loughnane is aboard today which is a positive jockey change and Billy is riding well at the moment with a strikerate north of 20% in the last 30 days. If Beaumadier can string the strong runs together here, should run out the winner in this. Great chance.

Stardancer, a beautifully bred four-year-old grey gelding by Dark Angel, looks dangerously well-handicapped heading into the 7:35 Congratulations Dan & Grace Handicap at Chepstow. Trained by Clive Cox, he made a highly encouraging seasonal reappearance at Nottingham last month following a lengthy ten-month absence and beneficial wind surgery. Although finishing sixth, he traveled smoothly for a long way, heavily implying he needed the outing to strip fitter and shake off residual rustiness. Prior to his break, Stardancer was a model of consistency, logging excellent placed efforts on the all-weather. Now dropping to an official rating of 74 and partnered with Georgia Dobie, he finds himself in an exceptionally winnable Class 5 turf contest. With his crucial comeback run securely behind him, Stardancer is poised to bounce back to peak form and deliver a prominent showing at a price that looks generous.

🎯 Dark Horse

Moonstone Boy (7.30 Newcastle)

Our Dark Horse racing tip comes in the evening meeting at Newcastle with Moonstone Boy, who could offer excellent value at double-figure odds.

The five-year-old had struggled for form with his previous yard but has since moved to the Candlish stable, where signs of improvement have already been shown. He finished a respectable fourth on his debut for the new yard in January before a disappointing run last time out at the same track.

However, that performance can be forgiven as he raced far too freely early on, which ultimately cost him any chance of finishing strongly. With a more restrained ride expected this time, Moonstone Boy could easily produce a much better showing.

Although drawn wide, he tends to race towards the rear which should help him slot in early without too much trouble. Lewis Edmunds takes over in the saddle and the jockey has been riding in good form recently.

Dropping back into 0–75 company, Moonstone Boy looks capable of bouncing back and could easily hit the frame at attractive odds.

This contest looks weaker and the six-year-old clearly enjoys racing at Wincanton. With Ciaran O’Shea in the saddle and conditions expected to suit, Crossgales King looks ready to go very close.

Safe Destination – Haydock

Safe Destination arrives here after a rare below-par effort at Fakenham, where he was pulled up. However, his previous form of 3126 shows he is usually a consistent performer and remains on a workable handicap mark.

The trip and ground conditions should suit perfectly and in what appears a very open race, the experienced eight-year-old could easily bounce back to form for the Twiston-Davies team, with Sam Twiston-Davies booked to ride.

The Thames Boatman – Lingfield

The Thames Boatman started the year strongly with a win in a Class 3 race at Lingfield in January. His last two performances have been underwhelming but both runs came with valid excuses including a poor draw and trouble in running.

Now just 2lb higher than his winning mark and dropping back into Class 4 company, he looks well treated. Drawn perfectly in stall 1 and with talented jockey Billy Loughnane aboard, he looks a major contender.

Nikovo – Newcastle

Nikovo has been knocking on the door recently with form figures of 2nd, 3rd and 2nd across his last few starts. His most recent run saw him finish close up in a tightly bunched finish and he lines up here off the same mark.

The six-year-old also won this race last year which shows his liking for the track. With Jason Hart back in the saddle and riding well at present, Nikovo could be primed for another big run.
