Reason for Tip

Five year old Photon is capable of outrunning odds this high and has done on previous occasions. Has struggled recently with the longer trips and drops back to a much more preferred distance here. Is actually pretty well treated on old form and is on a very good mark currently. This isn’t a very strong race and if he’s given an uncontested lead, they may find it too hard to catch off this lowly mark of 57. Lewis Edmunds aboard and he has a respectable record here at this track. Would be no surprise to see a place finish today back at this distance and not written off for win purposes either off this mark.

Very nicely bred three year old who fetched a commanding 410,000 euros as a yearling and now resides with the Haggas yard. They have a decent strikerate with their newcomers and this is a rather weak entry point for Cerelia who isn’t up again much opposition from what we’ve seen of the others already. Yard have a great record here and Cieren Fallon gets the ride. Always tricky with newcomers but the Haggas yard generally ready them quite well for debut and in this weak race a horse of Cerelia’s calibre may just prove too strong for this field. Looks the winner.

A beautifully bred 3yo who cost an eye-catching €410,000 as a yearling and now debuts for a yard with an excellent record with newcomers. This is a particularly weak opening assignment, with very limited demonstrated ability among the opposition.

Haggas horses are generally well-prepped for their first day at school and Newcastle’s straight track suits forward-going, well-balanced types. With Fallon booked and the yard boasting top strike-rates here, Cerelia looks the class act and should be too strong for this field.

Photon is a value play at a big price and is much better than recent finishing positions suggest. He has struggled over longer distances lately but now drops back to a trip that suits far better.

He is well treated on old form, runs off an attractive mark of 57, and this race lacks depth. If he gets an uncontested lead — something he’s capable of exploiting — he could prove very tough to reel in around Lingfield.

Lewis Edmunds has a strong record at the track and Photon’s profile screams live each-way with win potential.

Four year old who has only won once from 22 starts, however has often ran creditably in defeat and another win is imminent off this mark. Completely blew the start lto at Southwell and did brilliantly to end up finishing fifth when battling back and probably would of been first or second with a clean start. Remains very well treated and looks a major danger here today from stall 3. This isn’t an overly tough assignment and he can capitalise on that today.

Reason for Tip

Was not seen for over two years when returning in April this year and definitely needed the run which was quite evident. Was then off until seasonal return in October and form in two races since of 68. Whilst that doesn’t inspire great confidence on the bare face of it, they were much tougher assignments than this which represents a drop in class. Top weight I Spy A Diva should relish the return to 3 miles on suited ground and this easier race might open the door to another win. Yard going along very nicely at the moment and it would be no surprise to see this eight year old add to that tally here.

Consistent type with form of 47632 and has looked better and better this term showing progression in last three starts in particular. Low mileage and further improvement likely for this two year old. Clearly enjoys Newcastle and the return here today is favourable. Arguably an easier race than lto when she was second and lots to like here. Yard have a decent record here, particularly with two year olds and this looks her best chance recently to record first win.

Three year old who joined the Charlie Clover stable earlier this autumn and scored on debut at Pontefract in September. Ran well behind a smart prospect at Chelmsford when finishing third lto and that form has so far worked out nicely with the second placed horse going in since. Has an ok draw, looks to still be on a workable mark and has a top jockey aboard in Kieren Shoemark. Plenty of positives and is a major player in this.
