Eight year old who never made a great deal of progress over hurdles but has taken to fences like a duck to water. Two wins in three chases so far and both the wins were here at this course. Goes up in trip today to 2m7f but that should no pose no great threats to her chances and this girl looks set to complete a Market Rasen hattrick. This race doesn’t look a particularly strong affair and the opposition are largely opposable. Forecast soft ground is fine and if Florita can keep the form going from last time out, could take this with relative ease. Yard have a good record here and Jonathan is riding well at the moment, sporting a 31% strikerate in the last 60 days. Florita should win again today.

Progressive this term with form of 431 since returning in September and won nicely last time out at Chepstow on first rules start. Crucially, Roe and Co avoids a penalty for that win and benefits from a 3lb claim under Joe Anderson, despite being due to go up 6lb in the future. That makes this seven-year-old a seriously well-handicapped runner here.
The Snowden yard are flying with a 48% fortnightly strike rate, and both ground and trip look ideal. Market Rasen has been a happy hunting ground for this yard too. Given the claim, form and stable confidence — Roe and Co looks extremely tough to oppose today. Strong winning chance.

Wide open handicap here in the 7.30 at Wolverhampton and one who is interesting at a ginormous price of 33/1 is five year old Age Of Baroque from the Macey stable. Not seen since September 2025 when 9th of 10 at Chelmsford and has since undergone a wind op. This procedure can spark immediate results and so it can be a factor worth considering sometimes in certain scenarios. Further to that, this five year old has shown ability, namely when winning at Southwell back in June off a mark only 2lb below what he runs off today. However, Taryn Langley is booked today and she has a 5lb apprentice allowance which puts Age Of Baroque on a mark 3lb below last winning one. Now the price is huge for reasons too, coming back after a break, from a yard who aren’t overly successful at the moment and an apprentice aboard who is capable, but inconsistent. But there is a few factors mentioned earlier which peak interest today and if this boy can get going well fresh, there’s no reason he can’t place off this mark and if the wind op has really helped this horse, then we could have a big surprise price going in. Interesting race, interesting runner.

An intriguing outsider here at Sedgefield. Newport didn’t shine on seasonal debut at Punchestown, but prior to that had been consistently close, finishing within single digits of the winner in four of five runs. Looks fitter now for that outing and could benefit from the switch to English soil.
Ground conditions are fine and this trip looks right in the sweet spot. Sean Quinlan rides and while he’s not on a hot streak, he has an excellent record at this track — a big plus for this course debutant. Bookies paying four places makes Newport look a fair each-way play at 10/1.

Previously a flat horse for Hugo Palmer, four year old My Kinda Ghaiy now resides with the Olly Murphy yard and in his first two starts over obstacles has shown talent for this discipline. A strong second on hurdling debut at Taunton before a credible third at Wetherby lto. Runs the same trip again today and is open to plenty of progression still. Will appreciate the soft ground and has one of the best around aboard in Sean Bowen. This race looks contestable and this four year old with a little improvement in his fluidity over the obstacles should be bang there today. Good chance in this.

Won his bumper and been a little disappointing since over the obstacles with form of 35. However, Giantsgrave is very nicely bred, has hinted at ability and may just have needed a couple of runs. Needs to be better over the hurdles which on third start we should now see plenty of improvement and the drop in trip to the flat 2m looks a favourable switch up. Heavy ground shouldn’t pose too much of an issue, won his bumper on some pretty soft ground and is related to some heavy ground winners. Represents a major yard with a top jockey aboard in Harry Skelton and shouldn’t be far away at all today. Likely winner.

Five year old Madame Luna has made the perfect start to her career so far with form of 111 and completed the hattrick in a warm mares novice at Doncaster lto. This looks a very reasonable opening mark considering and she has to be taken very seriously on handicap debut today. Should be fine over this trip considering she won over a furlong less lto and she remains open to an unknown quantity of further progression, although im sure we’ve not seen the best of Madame Luna yet. Paul O’Brien back aboard after an absence last time and that’s a positive, both yard and jockey have very good records at the course and when combining together at this track, have won 43% of their races in the last few years. Hard to look beyond this youngster today and she looks set to complete a four timer.

Nicely bred debutant from the Balding yard who is a close relation to numerous winners, including at group level. Always a bit of a risk tipping a newcomer as they can be anything however this race is not a strong one. Of the horses who have had a run, none looks up to a great deal and this looks an ideal chance for a potentially talented filly to get off to a flying start. Yard have a good record with their debutants along with plenty of success at this track. Free Yourself has an ok draw from stall 4 and Callum Hutching gets the ride. Callum is riding very well at the moment and it’s a very strong booking at this course. Lots to like and if running to any sort of expectation from what’s on paper, should be challenging here and can win this.

Form figures of 15134 tell their own story — a consistent and talented two-miler. Drops back to that optimum trip today and conditions look perfect. Weak race on paper and a strong win contender.

Pescatorius – 1.48 Market Rasen – 2/1
Rapidly improving and won easily at Sedgefield last month. Up in the weights but still looks progressive. The Murphy-Bowen combo boast a one-third strike rate at this track. Likely winner.

Ballylinch – 3.09 Sedgefield – 4/1
Ran below par on seasonal debut but will strip much fitter this time. Ended last campaign with a win and a second, and remains on a workable mark. Good each-way value.
