Mr Nugget lines up as top weight here, but fully deserves that status based on recent performances. His form since November reads an impressive 13521, with the latest victory coming at Southwell where he won comfortably while still on the bridle.

He runs under a penalty today, but that doesn’t look enough to stop him given how easily he dispatched his rivals last time out. Mr Nugget has proven himself a strong polytrack performer and conditions look ideal once again.

The yard is in good form and Hector Crouch takes over in the saddle, a positive booking given his excellent record at Lingfield and a strong recent strike-rate. Mr Nugget looks the standout in this race and is taken to win again.

Reason for Tip

Slow start so far this season for this now eight year old. First two runs this term pulled up in both before fitness returned and finished second lto at Windsor. Does sometimes take this boy a few to get going and so looks primed and ready for a big run here today at Fakenham, a course Illogical Logic has only been to once before, but ran very well that day and so seems a positive on paper back here. Yard have opted for a longer trip today which could be a good thing, doesn’t often run this far but the slower pace and settled style will suit and on ground that is ideal, it should all work favourably. Yard in very good form and Jack Tudor aboard is a good thing. Looks to have a very strong chance today and should be getting the job done.

Big odds here for Riot but he is capable of big runs and whilst the form recently of 4000 is not inspiring at all, as a result of that his mark has now dropped to the one he defied to win at Wolverhampton back in October. Generally likes this course, has won here three times over this distance and whilst a revival is needed given recent form, it’s not an impossible task and he drops back a grade today. Has a fantastic draw in stall 1, an experienced jockey aboard in Rob Hornby and this isn’t a particularly strong race. There is risks involved, but hard to ignore back off this mark, down in grade and from a good draw. Very much able to outrun these big odds and if returning close to best form, has the ability to be a surprise winner today.

Titian Blue appeals as a potentially overpriced runner in a trappy-looking contest. She is relatively unexposed on the all-weather and didn’t quite fire last time out when sent off favourite, but that was only her third AW start and her first run back after a four-month break.

Prior to that, her form at Southwell read 2nd and 3rd, suggesting she handles the track well. She should strip fitter for that recent run and benefits from a good draw in stall 2 today.

Representing a powerful yard and with Jason Watson booked, Titian Blue is capable of running a big race at generous odds if resuming her previous progress.

Picture of consistency with form of 33313 since September and despite the rise in the weights following the win two starts ago, still ran a credible race when third lto. Should be more used to the increased mark on this start and the lineup for this race looks largely opposable. Has an ok draw out of stall 5, tends to start quickly and run prominently and we are likely to see that again here and front running can play out well at this track at times. Mark remains workable, represents an inform yard and Marco Ghiani gets the ride. Lots to like, major player.

Despite being 7 years old, Wicked Thoughts is still rather unexposed and pretty low mileage. Can be a little inconsistent at times, but started this season in good style when winning on seasonal and chasing debut lto at Taunton. Only gone up 3lb for that win and it looked rather comfortable and Wicked Thoughts is likely going to be fitter and stronger today for that run out. Represents a top yard with a fantastic record here and Freddie Gingell has more than proved himself as a solid jockey in the last year and so it’s a positive booking. Remains open to plenty of further progress over fences and looks a major player in this today on suited ground and trip.

Hot Fuss was slow to get going this season with form of 062 since returning in November but has plenty of ability and has contested much deeper races than this, including a trio of Grade 3’s. The form from lto when second in a Grade 3 looks rather strong and this represents a big drop in class back to class 3 company and Hot Fuss looks a big threat in this weaker race. Yard are ticking along nicely and no strangers to Sandown success at this time of year. This five year old gets his usual trip and is pretty versatile to the ground so the forecasted good to soft is no negative. David Bass aboard again today and Hot Fuss looks primed and set to take this.

Four year old Volendam has yet to win a race and now sits with a record of 0-10, but those losses have not been without merit. Recently changed stable to the Carroll’s and has looked better for the move and has been close third the last two starts. Knows this track well and has plenty of experience here, runs off an unchanged mark today and it’s definitely one she can win off. Only main concern is the wide draw, Volendam likes to run on the prominent side of things and if she can’t get across into a forward position early it could hamper her chances. However, has a top jockey aboard in Jack Doughty and if she’s allowed her prominent position, may take some stopping. Good chance.

Has been a mixed bag for this four year old and the form of 90393 reflects that, however looked a lot sharper lto when third and that was a trickier race than this. Has a plum draw out of stall 2 today and the benefit of Conor Whiteley and his 5lb apprentice allowance. Yard are enjoying a nice spell at the moment and that bodes well for Em Four today. Has plenty of experience at this track and whilst he isn’t the most consistent currently, the form lto was a bit of a resurgence and he is taken to continue that promise today.

Has been the picture of success really since returning to the all weather in September and form since then reads 12331322 including wins here at this track. Doesn’t seem to be slowing down and mark still seems workable for this four year old. Only a tiny 1lb higher today and that definitely isn’t enough to rule out another big run from Cardinal Point who very much enjoys this track. Has a good draw today out of stall 4, good jockey aboard in Hector Crouch and most of this field doesn’t look up to all that much frankly. Yard have a good record here and Cardinal Point looks a likely winner today.

Six year old Kelijoe had won a French bumper before coming over here and truthfully wasn’t overly impressive on some occasions but it all came good lto when winning at Doncaster for the first time earlier this month. Things seemed to click at last for Kelijoe and that was a clear success for which the handicapper has raised mark by 7lb. However, that win was dominant and not uncommon for horses to kick on for first win and Kelijoe enjoys this track so there is plenty to like today. Good jockey aboard in Charlie Hammond and both trip and ground are suited. Big chance.

Four year old Juno Star made all to win back at Southwell in October over this trip and form since has read 4564. Hasn’t coped brilliantly with that rise from the win but as a result mark has now dropped to very tempting one and this is not a strong race. Saw a return to better form when fourth lto in a Class 5 and drops back a grade today, on a very dangerous mark at a course this youngster knows well. Yard ticking a long nicely, has a plum draw and a top jockey aboard in in Cieren Fallon. Likely to play a leading role and is capable of taking this off this mark. Major player.

Addarella has been the picture of consistency since September, with form figures of 33313. Despite a rise in the weights following her win two starts ago, she still ran a solid race when third last time out.

She should be more accustomed to her current mark now and this race doesn’t look particularly strong. Drawn in stall 5, she tends to break well and race prominently — a style that can be well rewarded around Lingfield. From an in-form yard and with Marco Ghiani booked, Addarella looks a major player.

Wicked Thoughts

1.30 Wincanton – 7/2

Wicked Thoughts remains relatively unexposed for a seven-year-old and made a very promising start to his chasing career when winning on seasonal and chase debut at Taunton last time out.

That win looked comfortable and he has only been raised 3lb by the handicapper. He should improve further for that run and represents a top yard with an excellent record at Wincanton. Freddie Gingell has impressed over the past year and is a positive booking. With conditions to suit, Wicked Thoughts looks open to plenty more progress.

Hot Fuss

Hot Fuss was slow to hit top form this season, but recent efforts suggest he is now coming to the boil. He finished second last time out in a Grade 3 and that form looks strong in the context of today’s race.

This represents a notable drop back into Class 3 company and he has previously competed in much deeper contests. The yard is in good order, Sandown is a track they know well, and Hot Fuss is versatile regarding ground conditions. With David Bass back on board, Hot Fuss looks primed to capitalise on this easier assignment.

Volendam

Volendam remains a maiden after ten starts, but her recent runs suggest a win may not be far away. Since switching to the Carroll yard, she has finished a close third on each of her last two outings and clearly knows her way around Southwell.

She runs off an unchanged mark today, which looks workable, and has a top jockey aboard in Jack Doughty. The main concern is a wide draw, as she likes to race prominently, but if she can get across early, Volendam may prove very hard to peg back.
