Reason for Tip

Very consistent six year old from the in form James Owen yard with form of 33221 in the last couple of months. Ran a big race lto when winning by around half a length at Chelmsford and whilst the handicapper has applied a 5lb penalty, still looks very well treated in this 0-55 off the adjusted mark of 60 with the penalty. This is not a strong race at all and a large portion of these horses have no form to write about at all. Silkies Sib has a good draw from stall 3, has course experience and good performances at this course including the 2nd place finish two starts ago. Jockey change to Mason Paetel is arguably a slight upgrade and Mason is riding brilliantly this season. Yard have a 21% course strikerate and a similar strikerate generally at the moment. Mason has ridden a number of winners for the Owen’s and they share a strong record together. Silkies Sib looks the standout selection even under the penalty and could take this in his stride today. Looks the winner.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Laughing John — 1.58 Doncaster — 13/8

Laughing John is a lightly raced four-year-old with only three career starts and form figures of 3-2-U. He was travelling strongly and looked like the likely winner when unseating late at Chepstow last time out. That run can be forgiven, and his profile suggests there is plenty more to come.

He returns after a break since April, so freshness is a small question, but Henderson runners traditionally go well off layoffs, and Bowen takes the ride — a huge positive considering the pair share a 22% strike rate at Doncaster.
This is a weak handicap for the grade and Laughing John may not need to be fully tuned to take advantage. A strong selection and today’s NAP.

Reason for Tip

Eight year old Lisleigh Lad is a bit of a picture of inconsistency really and form of P1P37 since March 2025 reflects that. Won nicely at Cork in April, returned from a long break in December at Thurles when third of fourteen but failed to build on that lto when seventh. Should after those two runs be primed and ready to go and this course debut at Leopardstown could spark a rejuvenation as remains pretty unexposed going left handed. This race won’t take a great deal of winning and if running how we know he can, should be involved come the final furlong. Yard and jockey both have strong chase records and Lisleigh Lad is a capable horse. Mark has now dropped further to 115 which looks pretty workable really and so he is taken to put in a big run at a big price today. Outside chance, but a chance nonetheless.

This reliable ten-year-old clearly came on for his seasonal return at Fontwell, improving significantly when third here at Cheltenham behind Eldorado Allen last time. He remains on a fair mark and looks poised to take another step forward.

The return to 2m4f on today’s ground is ideal, and with proven jumping ability and stamina, Can You Call has the tools to stay in contention deep into the race. Ben Jones is an excellent booking, and with a bit of luck, this veteran could easily outrun his odds and land a surprise win. A live Dark Horse.

This six year old doesn’t do a great deal of winning but is on a mark that’s hard to ignore as regularly going close and enters a very weak race today with a very good looking chance. Was very close two starts ago at Musselburgh when denied into second at the end. Fifth lto in a change of headgear which didn’t seem to make a positive difference but that was a tougher race than this one. Drops back in trip here to 2m4f which is absolutely fine and will relish the forecasted good to soft ground. Clean jumper, well treated, very winnable race today and an ok jockey booking in Jamie Hamilton. Would be shocked if Leader Wing was outside the places today and honestly should be contesting the win in this race.

Highly progressive in four starts so far and form reads 8422. Wasn’t far away on handicap debut lto at Thurles and steps up ever so slightly in trip to 3miles today which looks suited. Has performed better each race so far as distance has increased. Looked to be pretty smart over the obstacles last time so expecting a clean round of jumping. Ground should be of no concern and looks a major player in this race today on debut at this track. Represents a shrewd operation with a decent record and has a top jockey aboard in Darragh O’Keeffe. Big chance.

Unexposed five year old who made debut lto at Wetherby when a not do distant third. The front two lto have both gone in as winners since so the form looks pretty strong. Does have a 3 month break to contend with, but horse is young and from a stable with a decent record for returning horses. Trip is bang on the same as last time today and should be more than fine on the forecasted ground. Yard have a strong record here in bumpers and Charlie Maggs is aboard for the ride. Pretty open race but one in which Dolly Drama looks very capable of winning.

Now 21 races since a win, Dayman returned from a long absence back in January this year and clearly needed the run when seventh that day. Was a strong third lto and should be primed and fully fit today. Form from the last race is strong, first, second and fourth have all franked the form by winning since and this looks a perfect opportunity for Dayman to do the same. Ok draw from stall 6, pretty weak race and has a top jockey aboard in Billy Loughnane. Looks very well treated on previous form and Billy is no stranger to Wolverhampton success. Big chance for this seven year old to finally return to the winners enclosure here.
