Match Preview ⚽

The opening round of games in the league phase of this season’s Champions League will get underway on Tuesday night and features this upcoming mouthwatering clash between Serie A giants Juventus and German Bundesliga counterparts, Borussia Dortmund, when the two teams prepare to do battle at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Juventus will be going in search of a fourth win on the trot in all competitions after picking up early victories in the Italian top flight against the likes of Parma, Genoa and most impressive of all, a 4-3 home win over Inter Milan last Saturday.

Tuesday night’s hosts will be hoping they can make home advantage count against Dortmund and as Igor Tudor’s have been dealt just the single loss in their last nine matches in all competitions along with collecting seven wins in the process, the Old Lady look in good shape for this Matchday 1 encounter.

Borussia Dortmund have also produced an encouraging start to their respective season as the German club bring a four-match unbeaten sequence into this opening game in the league phase of this season’s Champions League which consists of three wins and a draw.

A 1-0 win away from home at RW Essen in the DFB Pokal was followed by back-to-back wins in the Bundesliga against Union Berlin and Heidenheim respectively, and these recent victories will give Niko Kovač and his side plenty of confidence ahead of this upcoming trip to Turin.

Juventus have picked up five wins but also suffered five defeats in their last 10 home ties in the Champions League.

Borussia Dortmund have picked up five wins, a draw and four losses in their last 10 Champions League ties on the road.

Team News: Juventus look to have close to a full bill of health for this upcoming tie with Bremer expected to link up with Federico Gatti and Lloyd Kelly in a back three.

In attack, forwards Jonathan David and Dusan Vlahovic are expected to start with Kenan Yildiz in support.

Borussia Dortmund are still without the services of Emre Can, Niklas Sule and Nico Schlotterbeck, so Dortmund manager Niko Kovač may also name a back three in defence.
