Six year old with decent hurdling form including a win in a maiden Hurdle over 3 miles at Haydock two starts ago. Returned after a long absence to compete in a Class 3 at Lingfield last month and looked very strong considering and finished second behind a smart favourite. Goes chasing for the first time today and looks the type to take to it well, over a trip he enjoys and on ideal ground. Yard have a decent chasing record and when Tom Bellamy is aboard have a decent record at this track. Ski Lodge is likely to strip much fitter today for that run out last time and is taken to win this rather weak entry point for chase debut.

Ski Lodge has already shown solid hurdling ability, including a strong win in a 3-mile Haydock maiden hurdle. Returned from a long break last month and shaped extremely well in a Class 3 at Lingfield, finishing a credible second behind a smart favourite.

Today he switches to fences for the first time, and everything in his profile suggests he’ll take to chasing naturally — ideal trip, preferred ground and a stable with a strong record introducing chasers. Tom Bellamy rides Uttoxeter well and connections expect improvement now he’s fitter for his return run.

Seven year old It’s Maisy is dropped back in trip here today and it remains to be seen just how well she will do over a sharper 2m3f. All her wins have been at around 3 miles and her last run over this trip was a fourth place finish. However, what is known is that she is on a very workable mark, is at a course she enjoys and on ground she likes. Yard can be a shrewd operation and It’s Maisy may have shown something at home that has ignited the attempts at this trip and they are used to success here at Uttoxeter with a 19% strikerate in the last couple of years. Outside chance, but if taking to the trip has a decent opportunity today.

It’s Maisy drops back in trip today to 2m3f — a sharper test than her usual staying trips around 3 miles. All her wins have come over longer distances, but she does run this track well, handles the ground and arrives on a very workable mark.

The yard has a 19% strike-rate at Uttoxeter in recent seasons and can be very shrewd when spotting opportunities. If the drop in trip ignites improvement, she’s a lively outsider in a race that isn’t overly strong.

Chance another one has shown nice promise over fences so far winning both of his first two chases, including lto at Kempton. The big question today is the trip really, has consistently ran around the 3 mile mark and had success but is dropped back to a sharp 2 miles today. Very unexposed at these shorter distances and so may be fine, but it’s certainly a factor in the odds being 6/1. Has shown versatility with the ground so the forecast heavy isn’t of great concern. Yard going nicely and Donagh Meyler aboard as usual and he’s been winning quite a few races this past fortnight. If coping with the sharper test, Chance Another One could have a big say today.

It’s a tale of inconsistency really for Jigoro, has shown good ability who won a maiden hurdle and has posted some good runs in defeat in some quite decent races but does at times appear a little complicated. Returned for seasonal debut lto at Navan and finished 7th of 11 that day over fences. Returns to hurdling today and that’s arguably his better discipline and can be forgiven for needing a run. This isn’t an overly strong race and trainer has reached for cheekpieces today. Represents a major yard with a good record here and top stable jockey aboard in Jack Kennedy. Likely contender and wouldn’t be a shock to see this six year old win this.

This five year old is no stranger to winning and completed a hattrick earlier this year. As a result his mark rocketed and has struggled a little since. However, is now 1lb lower than when winning in July and looks primed for a big run again off this mark. Is likely to sit towards to the rear as usual and come on late for a challenge in the final furlong and this mark should make that tactic a little easier. Has good form here and Paul Mulrennan back aboard today which is a positive chance. Has a good chance today.

Three year old Political Power has yet to break his AW duck but went very close here two starts ago when second. Extended mile lto looked a furlong too far and the drop back to the straight mile today should spark a better result than the fifth place finish lto at Wolverhampton. This isn’t a particularly strong race and looks a little easier than the one he nearly won back in October at this track. Yard going well at the moment and Darragh Keenan retains the ride who has won on this boy back in June. Solid chance.

Completed a hat-trick earlier this year but handicapped out of things since. Now dropped to 1lb below his last winning mark, and this is the right time to strike. Likes Newcastle and Mulrennan returning is a major plus.
