Party Bear

J: Pierre-Louis Jamin T: K R Burke
Race Winner
6/4

Reason for Tip

Small 5 runner race here in the 6.30 at Newcastle and the one who looks the obvious answer is four year old Burke trained Party Bear. Won at Lingfield in January over this trip off a mark of 70. Slightly disappointing over C&D two starts ago on first run off 73 but improved very nicely in a much warmer class 3 lto at Lingfield when third of eleven. Back to the calmer class 5 company today and looks a major player back in this sphere. Draw not overly relevant in a small field and we are likely to see Party Bear take up his usual prominent position. Will take some pegging back and if given an uncontested lead could run away with it. Yard and jockey both have brilliant records here and Party Bear looks every bit the winner in waiting today.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Dandy Khan

2.07 Lingfield – 15/8
Trainer: J R Boyle
Jockey: Billy Loughnane

Dandy Khan made a slow start to her career but she’s really turned a corner now, landing a quickfire Lingfield doubleand showing she’s only just beginning to progress. Crucially, she escapes a penalty for the win last time out, leaving her looking extremely well-treated for another winnable contest.

She’s got the plum inside draw (stall 1), represents a yard in red-hot form, and has the services of Billy Loughnane — who rides Lingfield better than most and has been excellent tactically around here. The race looks no stronger than her previous two assignments and the hat-trick is very much on for this improving filly.

Why it’s the NAP:
Form, draw, trainer form, track suitability and a generous mark. Everything lines up.

Tuscan Point

J: Taryn Langley T: Adam Kirby
Race Winner
12/1

Reason for Tip

15 career runs without a win is hardly a statistic to boast about but there’s a couple of key positives today which make Tuscan Point a little bit of a dark horse at 12/1. Firstly this is not a strong race, it’s wide open for the taking. Tuscan Point has changed hands since lto and this represents first run for the Kirby yard. Stable changes can spark improvement and so a chance is taken on this four year old. Has a fantastic draw from stall 3 and Kirby’s have opted for an apprentice today in Taryn Langley who takes off 5lb with her apprentice allowance making Tuscan Point’s mark very interesting indeed. Change of headgear also reached for by the yard. Does need to find a little extra from what we’ve seen but today’s race looks an opportunity for Tuscan Point and with good positioning at the break, could run on strongly today off this weight. Chance.

🎯 Dark Horse

Palace Boy

5.30 Wolverhampton – 14/1
Trainer: F Brennan
Jockey: Oscar Palmer (7lb claim)

Palace Boy hasn’t been seen since May 2024, which explains the big price — but he’s 2-from-2 at Wolverhampton, and crucially was competing in higher-class company on his last few starts. Today he drops into a much easier race and makes his debut for a new yard.

The 7lb claim of Oscar Palmer is a huge help, he’s drawn perfectly in stall 2, and this race isn’t the strongest on paper. If he’s anywhere near race-fit, Palace Boy has genuine winning claims at a big price — a proper Dark Horse selection.

Why he’s the Dark Horse:
Course record, class drop, big jockey claim and a perfect draw. Backable at double-figures.

Carlton

J: Thomas Bellamy T: James Owen
Race Winner
16/5

Reason for Tip

One of the very few horses in this field that’s consistent and reliable with form of 12321. Versatile six year old who’s capable on both flat and over the obstacles and after two runs on the flat recently returns to hurdles here today. Decent course form including a second here back in October over this trip. Remains on a very workable mark and looks a cut above this lot today. Represents a shrewd and successful yard and has a good jockey aboard in Thomas Bellamy. Unlikely to be far away at all and looks a very likely winner at a course he enjoys and on ground that is ideally suited.

Kaid D'authie

J: Mark Walsh T: W P Mullins
Race Winner
6/1

Reason for Tip

Pretty open looking Brown Advisory with the seven year old Romeo Coolio heading the market at 2/1. Far too short in my opinion for a horse not particularly suited to this trip and fitted with a hood. However, that means nice prices elsewhere and one who takes the fancy is six year old Kaid D’authie from the Muillins yard. Has all the attributes of a Brown Advisory winner with a good engine and fluid jumping. Has taken to chasing like a duck to water and is two wins and a second in this sphere. Pulled up over hurdles here 12 months ago but looks a prime candidate for the win today. Trip is a little unknown, but on pedigree and from what we’ve seen should suit and represents a top yard with a great record at the Festival and has Mark Walsh aboard who knows how to win here too, did so yesterday also. Big chance.

Colinski

J: Callum Rodriguez T: R Menzies
Race Winner
26/5

Reason for Tip

Failed to build on his win on handicap debut last June at Lingfield but has not been disgraced in defeat since and has been lightly raced with only three runs since. Returns from a break here and is capable of going well fresh and is on what looks to be a very workable mark. Has a wide draw but not overly concerning in a 2 mile race and has plenty of time to get positioned for the break. Makes AW and stable debut today which could spark further improvement. Good jockey aboard in Callum Rodriguez who is no stranger to course success and this race is not a strong one. Leading contender and likely winner.

Rockin The Boat

J: undefined T: undefined
Race Winner
11/4

Reason for Tip

Four year old Rockin’ The Boat might be winless, but this is by far and away the easiest race she’s ran in and looks pretty dangerous here on AW debut. Has contested some warm Class 2 maidens previously and ran more than creditably in defeat. Lightly raced and remains open to plenty of further progress, unlike a lot of this field. Ok draw from stall 6 and has a fantastic jockey aboard in Billy Loughnane. Somewhat progressive last year on first three handicap starts and whilst she has a long break to overcome, this filly’s runs in hotter races are much better form than most of this lot and she seems capable of taking a race at this level. Big chance if going well fresh.

No Drama This End

J: H Cobden T: P F Nicholls
Race Winner
11/4

Reason for Tip

No Drama This End brings a progressive staying-novice profile into the Turners and has posted ratings this season that put him firmly among the leading contenders. His latest Grade 1 trial performance produced a career-best figure, achieved through strong mid-race cruising speed before staying on powerfully from two out. The Turners often rewards horses who travel comfortably over 2m5f and can sustain pressure up the hill — both attributes he has demonstrated. His hurdling has remained fluent under pace, and his stamina credentials are already proven at this trip. On recent figures and race style suitability, he has a major chance.

Wendigo

J: G Sheehan T: Jamie Snowden
Race Winner
9/1

Reason for Tip

Wendigo has shaped as a staying chaser of high potential and arrives here with one of the strongest novice chase ratings in the field. His latest run over three miles showed improved jumping fluency and a relentless galloping style ideally suited to the demands of the Brown Advisory. This race traditionally rewards stamina and accurate jumping rather than raw pace, and his sectional profile highlights sustained effort from four out. With a proven ability to handle a strong tempo and maintain rhythm at his fences, he sets a high standard among this year’s staying novices.

Jingko Blue

J: James Bowen T: N J Henderson
Race Winner
10/1

Reason for Tip

Jingko Blue enters this competitive handicap off consistent ratings in strong company and appears fairly treated relative to his peak novice efforts. His recent runs show a solid cruising speed and the capacity to travel strongly before delivering a sustained challenge from the final flight. In Premier Handicaps where pace and positioning are decisive, his tactical versatility stands out. His mark does not look prohibitive on comparative figures with others near the top of the weights. In a race often decided by small margins, he rates a reliable each-way contender with upside.

Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase (Limited Handicap) (GBB Race) - Cheltenham

Favori De Champdou

J: Jack Kennedy T: G Elliott
Race Winner
5/2

Reason for Tip

Favori De Champdou has developed into a specialist in cross-country conditions, producing consistent figures over unique obstacle configurations. His recent form in similar contests highlights accurate jumping and the ability to maintain position throughout, two critical components in this discipline. Cross Country races reward rhythm and adaptability, and his profile suggests both are strengths. He has already shown he can handle the Cheltenham banks-style test and remains competitively weighted relative to recent efforts. In a niche contest where experience matters, he looks a strong each-way option.

Ballysax Hank

J: James Bowen T: G P Cromwell
Race Winner
12/1

Reason for Tip

Ballysax Hank has been running consistently in two-mile handicap chases and arrives with ratings that place him squarely in the mix. His latest performances show sharp jumping and the ability to hold a prominent position — often crucial in the Grand Annual, where pace is relentless from flagfall. He travels comfortably at this trip and has recorded closing sectionals that suggest he can finish strongly off a strong gallop. With a mark that still looks workable, he profiles as a solid each-way play in a typically competitive renewal.

Weatherbys Champion Bumper (In Memory Of Sir Johnny Weatherby) (Standard Open NH Flat Race) (Grade 1) (GBB Race) - Cheltenham

Keep Him Company

J: Jack Kennedy T: G Elliott
Race Winner
13/2

Reason for Tip

Keep Him Company has produced one of the stronger bumper ratings of the season and shaped as though the Cheltenham hill would suit his galloping style. His debut success was achieved with a strong late surge after travelling smoothly off a steady tempo. Champion Bumpers often hinge on raw ability and stamina rather than experience alone, and his pedigree suggests further improvement is likely. With an already competitive figure on the board and clear scope to progress again, he enters this Grade 1 with legitimate winning credentials.

🍀 Lucky 15 Tips Today

1️⃣ Sergeant Pep – 1.07 Lingfield – 4/1

T: C G Cox | J: Rossa Ryan
Ran well on seasonal debut in Class 3 company and now drops into a weaker race off a handy mark. Back on the AW, back to his ideal trip and partnered by Rossa Ryan. A big run looks likely.

2️⃣ Dunnet Head – 1.45 Musselburgh – 5/1

T: L Russell & M Scudamore | J: P W Wadge
Ignore the form figures — he’s much better than that. Returns to fences, which is a big positive, and is extremely well-treated on old ability. Jockey is in great form and this race is very winnable.

3️⃣ Crossbeau – 3.25 Fontwell – 9/4

T: Tim Vaughan | J: Sean Bowen
Won nicely on return after 500+ days off and should improve fitness-wise. The 6lb rise is manageable and this is slightly easier than last time. Bowen booked — major chance.

4️⃣ Gustav Graves – 8.00 Wolverhampton – 9/2

T: D Shaw | J: Joanna Mason
A Wolverhampton specialist who’s been in the frame in his last three. Only beaten a short head last time and remains on a workable mark. Expect him to stalk and pounce late. Big chance.
