Seven year old Shantwopointfive might be top weight today, but looks primed for a big run here. Has started this season slowly with form of P5 since return last month but has looked better for each run out and is taken to keep the progression going. Knows how to get the job done and has good form in better races than this last year. Drops back in trip here after struggling over further lto and that looks a positive change. Yard are going nicely, Caoilin Quinn is riding well at the moment and Shantwopointfive is more than capable of outrunning odds of 16/1 and is primed for a big run today. Outside chance, but not written off by any means.

Benacre is your live outsider today. He’s been rock-solid in Class 4 company this year with form figures 1-2-3-4 at the level and simply found life too tough upped to Class 3 last time.

Back to Class 4 and back to Newcastle — where he’s already won — he sits just 2lb above his last winning mark and gets the services of Billy Loughnane, who rides this track extremely well.

Expect him to go forward. If Loughnane can grab an uncontested lead, this horse becomes very difficult to reel in.

Remains very unexposed and open to plenty of progress. Has shown ability and promise and this race is well within his reach. Still very much an unknown quantity but it’s likely we haven’t seen the ceiling yet and looks a smart prospect. From a top yard with a top jockey aboard in Ben Jones. Lots to like and a likely winner.

Largely consistent at the back end of last season over hurdles with form of 2312 in final four starts. Makes seasonal debut after being off since April and goes over the fences for the first time. Has had eight months off so there is a question mark over how well he will go fresh but we know the trip is ideal and the forecast ground is favourable. If taking well to fences for the first time, is a major player here for a yard who notched up three wins yesterday and Sandown and are going very nicely. Freddie Mitchell aboard and lots to like here.
