Reason for Tip

Bit of a bigger price for a NAP here with Fresh Kicks at 10/3 at time of writing but sometimes it just seems a good thing and this horse could be just that. Reasonable hurdling form but he looks built for chasing and its likely to be the making of him. Goes chasing for the first time today in whats actually a pretty weak race with most of the field having a question or two to answer and are much more exposed in this discipline than Fresh Kicks. Both trip and ground should be very suited and Fresh Kicks represents a yard who know how to ready their chasers and are no strangers to success here at Newbury when chasing. James Bowen aboard is always a plus for a Henderson horse; they have a great record as a partnership and when scrutinised further to course specifically, the pair have a 33% strikerate at Newbury. Always a risk backing a first time chaser, but this boy looks a good jumper and absolutely made for fences. Big chance at what could be a lovely priced NAP.

Unexposed and improving, Cherry Cobbler has shown plenty in just four starts (form 3413). His third at Chelmsford last time came after a nine-month break, and he flew home with the fastest final furlong in the field — a huge sign of latent ability.

Dropping back to 5f, the trip he won over two runs ago, looks ideal. With a perfect draw in stall 3, a top jockey in Rossa Ryan, and significant scope for more progress, he is by far the most unexposed and dangerous horse in the race.

Looks the winner.

Wide open race here and with most bookies paying around 4 places; its hard to see Zryan not returning some money here. Has been largely very competitive since coming over from France and form reads 12012 since December. Generally runs a very good race and has good course form including a win at the track. Cracking draw from stall 2 today and Zryan looks still rather well treated off current mark. Yard have won 33% of runs in last two weeks and Zryan has a strong jockey aboard in Jason Watson. 9/1 looks a nice price and Zryan is likely to be heavily involved today. Versatile to running style and can lead or sit off the pace but im wondering if they’ll opt for prominent today from the good draw. Will be tough to peg back if allowed to dictate. Good chance and unlikely to be far away.

A veteran at 13, but a course specialist who has won the last two runnings of this race. He saves his best for Market Rasen and remains on a workable mark. The yard performs well here and Ben Jones is an excellent booking, riding confidently this season.

He arrives fresh — and that’s normally when he’s most dangerous, proven by his win off a 588-day break previously.

Big price but far from without a chance in a race he loves.

Interesting race here in the second on the card at Lingfield and one who looks primed for a big run is three year old Al Azd from the Varian stable. Progressive in all four starts so far and was closely denied into second in last two runs. First handicap today on what looks a very workable opening mark. Has a good draw from stall 4, has course experience from lto and represents an inform yard with a top jockey aboard in Fallon. Lots to like and wont be far away.

Despite being low mileage, Supreme Malinas knows how to win and has done on multiple occasions so far. Wasn’t disgraced in a warm grade 2 novice at Warwick lto and looks set to return to peak form now handicapping for the first time. Goes markedly up in trip which looks favourable, has acted the stayer in previous runs and on pedigree its suitable. Ground is fine and from a yard with a very good record here and stable jockey Harry is no stranger to course success either. Major player and likely to feature heavily.

Pretty open affair here in the Wolverhampton opener and Hint of Humour looks likely to be heavily involved. Largely a very good record at this track including two wins over C&D and was only denied lto by a very dominant performance from the smart Beaumadier. Looks a very good prospect in this line up and despite a stall 7 draw, is likely to come from off the pace and challenge in the final furlong. Yard ticking along nicely and in form Billy Loughnane aboard for the ride. Billy has won more than a quarter of his rides recently and excels at this course. Major player today.

Unexposed six year old who failed to show much in first three starts back in 24/25, however returned after a year off to run a very solid race lto at this track when second. Entitled to come on for that first run back and further improvement still highly likely on whats only her 5th start in the UK. Ran well here lto and no reason she wont again in almost identical conditions. Yard enjoying a purple spell which stands Tuppence in good stead and this looks a more than fair opening mark for handicap debut. Would not be surprised to see this mare get up and win today.

0–7 on the flat but improving over hurdles with 2P3. Travelled strongly for a long way at Fontwell and has since had wind surgery — usually a big help. Sean Bowen takes over, and his course record at Market Rasen is exceptional.
Likely winner.

3️⃣ Dirty Den – 3.40 Wincanton – 7/1

Ultra-consistent (form 12322). Two strong seconds this season and remains on a workable mark. Versatile, honest, and has P Hanlon removing 5lb, which strengthens his chance.
Solid each-way play at a value price.

4️⃣ Bint Al Daar – 8.00 Chelmsford – 9/1 ✔️ (Corrected)

Her form 70620 is misleading — most runs were in higher-class company, including several Class 2 races.

Last time at Wolverhampton she was beaten only a head in this grade, showing a big step forward.

Back in Class 5, running off a fair mark, and with Jack Mitchell — a top Chelmsford rider — taking the reins, she now gets a realistic winning opportunity.

If breaking well and securing a forward position, she is a major danger at a big price.
