Reason for Tip

Evening Fades is a nicely bred two year old from the Haggas yard who makes first career start in a rather underwhelming Class 5 at Lingfield. This is not a strong race and the one at the head of the market didn’t show a great deal on debut and it doesn’t seem like it would take much to win this for Evening Fades. From a top yard who are in red hot form with a 33% fortnightly strikerate and they also win more than 20% of their runs at this track. Ryan Moore is back in action and gets the ride today which is a huge positive, he’s one of the best in the business and will give this two year old the best possible chance. Always a risk with debutants, but yard know how to ready them and do have success with first timers. Lots to like, and if Evening Fades even runs to a modest level here, can probably take this.

Evening Fades makes his debut for a red-hot Haggas yard that holds a 33% strike rate over the last fortnight and regularly exceeds 20% wins at Lingfield. This Class 5 maiden lacks strength in depth, and the likely market leader didn’t show much on debut — making this a very winnable race for a well-bred newcomer.

Ryan Moore being booked is a huge positive, and the stable has an excellent record readying debutants. If Evening Fades runs to even a modest level of ability, he should have enough to take this.

Reason for Tip

Despite being 9, this old timer is very low mileage and won on handicap debut back two starts ago back in December 2024. Was second lto at Ayr in Feb this year and remains very well treated. Will relish the give in the ground and the trip is ideal. The question mark is the break since Febuary, but the win in December was after 588 days off and so should go well fresh again here. Yard are ticking along nicely and have a decent record here and Gege Ville has a decent jockey aboard in Danny McMenamin. If this boy goes well fresh again, has a good chance on previous form.

A lightly raced 9-year-old who remains well treated despite his age. Won on handicap debut in December 2024 after a massive 588-day break, proving he runs well fresh. Finished second last time out at Ayr in February and has had another break since — but given past evidence, that won’t faze him.

He’ll love the ground, the trip suits perfectly, and the Richards yard has an excellent record at Haydock. With McMenamin aboard and conditions ideal, he looks a serious each-way contender.

Big chance if returning in similar form.

Six year old who’s form over middle distances wasn’t overly inspiring and looked much more suited on seasonal debut to the 3 miles that he ran over. Gets that longer trip again here today and should strip fitter for that run earlier this month and looks capable of progressing at this trip. Ground looks suitable here and Benjamin Macey and his 3lb allowance get the ride here which puts this boy on an very nice mark. Lots to like here and he’s a major player in a relatively weak race.

Three year old Winter Flower is an unexposed three year old with four starts to her name and she’s looked promising in the last three starts particularly with form of 132. Wasn’t far away when third as Ascot and then again went close when second lto at Newcastle. Course debut at Lingfield, but should enjoy this track and has a decent draw out of stall 5. Won over 1m2f at Newcastle in September and returns to that trip today for the first time since. Represents a major yard who have a great record here and looks a likely contender in this race today.

Reason for Tip

Form of Al Qaysiyya’s debut race was franked heavily when all three ahead of her went in since however this filly disappointed lto at Doncaster when ninth of ten. However, both this girls first two starts were rather warm Class 2 maiden’s with some talented opposition and this Class 5 today represents a big drop in class should have much more chance in this today. Is nicely bred and remains very unexposed and is taken to bounce back with a big run. Yard have an exceptional record at Kempton and are in very good form currently. Top jockey aboard in Billy Loughnane and Al Qaysiyya could go in at a nice price. Good chance.

Four year old Caprelo has put in some good performances this year, including two wins from last two runs here at Kempton. Outclassed in the Cesarewitch lto but can be forgiven that and is taken to resume the progress we’d seen prior. Does have a wide draw, but has one of the best in the business aboard in Oisin Murphy to position him well and with it being 1m7f, the stall isn’t as much of an issue as shorter races. Lots to like in this return to a weaker race and looks nailed on for a big run today back at a course Caprelo loves. Big chance.

Ran respectably over middle distances, but looked far better up at 3 miles on seasonal return. Will strip fitter today and gets the longer trip again.
Ground ideal and the 3lb claim from Benjamin Macey puts him on a great mark.
Weak race — major player.

2️⃣ Winter Flower – 2.00 Lingfield – 7/2

Unexposed 3yo with form of 132 in last three runs. Strong efforts at Ascot and Newcastle, now drops into a very suitable class.
Returns to 1m2f, the trip she won over in September.
Great draw in stall 5 and represents a top yard with a superb Lingfield record.
Likely contender.

Debut form has been franked by all three ahead of her winning since.
Last run disappointing, but came in a hot Class 2 maiden — now drops into Class 5, a huge class relief.
Well-bred, lightly raced, and trained by Appleby with a superb record at Kempton.
Billy Loughnane booked.
Expected to bounce back at a nice price.

A Kempton specialist with two wins from last two runs at the track.
Outclassed in the Cesarewitch but can be forgiven that.
