Reason for Tip

Talented mare with strong form including a Grade 2, and then a Grade 3 and listed events back to back at the end of last year. Returns for seasonal debut today and looks the pick of the bunch in this race. Has the break to content with, but we know this girl goes well fresh and is rather versatile to the ground. Chase mark soared to 149 last year and it wouldn’t take even close to that level to win this hurdle today. From the ever powerful and dominant Mullins yard and very much first string in this race. Stable jockey Paul Townend gets the ride and it really could be quite a simple undertaking for Fun Fun Fun here. Looks the winner.

⭐ NAP of the Day

First Confession – 3.05 Kempton – 6/4

First Confession looks the standout on today’s card and the most likely winner. A talented hurdler with two Ascot victories last year, he returned earlier this month for his seasonal debut and first chase run, finishing an encouraging third of 12, travelling powerfully and jumping well.

He steps back up to 3 miles, a trip he’s already proven over, and the good ground is perfect. He should strip much fitter for that seasonal reappearance and today’s race looks far from deep.

With the Tizzard yard operating at a 43% strike-rate at Kempton and Brendan Powell flying, First Confession should have too much class for this field.
Looks the winner.

Reason for Tip

Modest form from this six year old but still quite lightly raced and only made hurdle handicap debut last month at Huntingdon. Ran well that day, just faded at the end and it was clear that trip was probably a bit out of reach, but still plenty of positives from that run. Drops back in trip here to 2m5f and this looks to be about the ideal distance. Yard have opted to try cheekpieces for the first time today and that may bring some improvement also. Ground looks favourable, yard generally do ok at this track and despite the lack of great form, Chedingtons Guest isn’t completely out of this. The drop in trip and cheekpieces could be a combination that brings out a big run.

🎯 Dark Horse

Sawgrass – 6.00 Wolverhampton – 14/1

This is a proper Dark Horse.

Sawgrass hasn’t found life easy after being hiked for his Lingfield win back in June, but importantly, he returns to the AW, which is his preferred surface. His mark has now slipped to a competitive level, making him a real player at a big price.

He will need to navigate a slightly wider draw, but over this trip it’s less of a negative – especially for his hold-up running style, which suits Wolverhampton perfectly.

With David Egan aboard and a likely late charge up the straight, Sawgrass looks a huge each-way player and capable of outrunning his 14/1 odds.
A win wouldn’t shock.

Reason for Tip

Relatively weak class 4 here at Windsor today and the two at the head of the market look to be the ones capable of taking this. Vote goes to Independent Lady from the Henderson yard who is very unexposed and only ran once so far. Debut was last month at Uttoxeter and finished fourth of ten. Showed ability and also signs of greenness. Should come on a lot for that run and Nico is in the saddle today instead which is a positive. Trip is the same and looks the right one, ground should be fine also. With some improvement from this four year old it wouldn’t take much to win this today and there’s a good chance of that happening.

Reason for Tip

Seven year old from the McNamara yard who has hit some really strong form this season. Won in August at Killarney, 3rd two starts ago and then won rather nicely in a listed event at Limerick lto. The win lto really solidified this mare staying ability and so the trip today looks the right move from the yard. Ground is bordering on the heavy side which is the only real question mark. Lots more rain would potentially be a problem but is quite unexposed on heavier ground so it’s not a complete write off of her chances. Has plenty of ability, represents a good yard who are in great form and Calum Hogan back aboard today. Good chance.

Eight year form the Clarke yard who is generally the picture of consistency. Form of 24112 going back to January this year and Good Friday Fairy is a talented chaser. Has good course form and will relish the ground here today. Trip is around ideal range and the only real question mark here is the break. 200+ days off and makes seasonal debut here today. Has gone fresh well previously, but is now eight years old and theres a chance may need the run. However, that being said, this isn’t a strong race and it wouldn’t take a huge deal to win this. Yard in great form and solid jockey booking. Big player.

Reason for Tip

Ex-French flat racer who made the move over to the Pipe yard earlier this year. Looked very promising on debut when winning in good style at Newton Abbot. Couldn’t follow up lto when third at the same track but this four year old remains very unexposed and has had wind surgery since last run. This looks a very reasonable entry point for handicap debut and whilst this is first run at Exeter, should take to the track and the ground and trip look bang on. Remains open to lots of progress still and from what we’ve seen so far, she is a relatively clean jumper and should be right there today. Good jockey aboard in Jack Tudor and he’s no stranger to a winner at this course. 9/1 looks generous and is capable of outrunning these odds.
