Reason for Tip

Race full of three year old youngsters with one debutant and the rest having a run or two under their belt. One who looks potentially just a cut above this field is See Blue from the Hughes stable who dug deep to get the job done on debut at Kempton back in September last year. Has the break to contend with but this race isn’t overly demanding and See Blue has plenty of promise, is very nicely bred and has a 2000 Guineas entry. Remains very unexposed and open to buckets of improvement and looks a solid miler in the making. Drawn a little wide in stall 7 but shouldn’t pose any major problems and represents an in form yard with a good record here. Billy Loughnane aboard for the ride is a strong booking and he also enjoys regular success at Southwell. Both yard and jockey are winning almost a third of their races in the last couple of weeks and See Blue looks sure to add to that tally today. Likely to be backed in tomorrow so would advise taking the early price of 9/4.

Four-year-old Our Boy Stan stands out strongly in a field where all but two runners return from long layoffs. He set a high standard last season, finishing second in a Class 1 Listed race at Cheltenham before winning smartly at Kempton on his second start — beating Moneygarrow, who has since progressed into a very solid performer.

He brings the clearest form to the table, and although he also returns from a break, his raw ability puts him well ahead of this Class 4 field. The Pauling yard remains in excellent form, and Ben Jones rides Ffos Las extremely well.

✅ Verdict: Clear form pick in a weak race — major winning chance.

Reason for Tip

North Lodge might be a nine year old and the oldest horse in the field but would be foolish to write him off in this and looks a massive price at 18/1. Has won twice over hurdles including a grade 2 novice and was a close third in a Grade 1 at Aintree in April 2022. Hasn’t been seen since 2023 when making handicap debut and is now 6lb lower and looks to be a workable mark for a race in this sphere. If going ok fresh is likely to be involved here on ground that should suit to a tee. Both yard and jockey are in scintillating form of late and historically when combining here at Kempton have a 23% course strikerate together. There is question marks after a break of this length, but North Lodge has a real chance if somewhat tuned up for this and 18/1 is worth an each way bet of anyones money.

Pachacuti arrives with an inconsistent profile but is extremely well handicapped now, running off 105, just 6lb below his highest winning mark. He showed signs of life with a strong second at Newbury three starts ago and should come on for his seasonal reappearance at Newton Abbot.

Ground and trip both suit well, and he has previously performed with credit at Ffos Las. In a race where most runners have question marks, Pachacuti’s mark and conditions make him attractively priced.

✅ Verdict: If things drop right, he can bounce back at big odds — lively each-way player.

Fantastic start to chasing career when completing a hattrick on first three starts over fences. Second lto at Aintree in a warm Class 3 novice but his jumping is a huge positive and there was races omitted at that meeting due to low sun so can be forgiven for losing his winning run. Returns to calmer water today over an ideally suited trip and on good ground which he will relish. Likely to continue progress and still looks to be rather well treated and progressive. Tristan Durrell aboard for the Skelton trained Chuggy and looks a very likely winner.

Midlands Grand National time and market leader J’arrive De L’est looks a solid candidate. A couple of this boys wins back in France were on cross country courses and on deep ground and so conditions are very likely to suit this seven year old today. Runner up on both of his last runs, both at Cheltenham and the form from both of those races is very strong. The winners were the first two home in the cross country chase at Cheltenham and so J’arrive De L’est looks a good thing here. Ran well in both the 3m5f trips and looks a horse who will just stay all day and looks a big danger today in this. Top jockey aboard for the shrewd Emmet Mullins yard in James Bowen and he’s a man in very good form currently. Huge chance for this seven year old today.

Eight year old who’s yet to win over hurdles after winning a bumper but has ran well in defeat on a number of occasions. Signs of inconsistency and breathing problems have led the yard to send him for a wind op and the fourth lto at Ayr was first run post op and a very credible effort. Entitled to come on for that run today and should be fit and primed for a big run. Will be fine over this trip and the good to soft ground that is forecasted is of no concern. Decent booking in Sean Quinlan and Sean has won 32% of his rides in the last two weeks.

Reason for Tip

Six year old Artisan Dancer has form of 25617 dating back to September and only one of those was a class 4 handicap, and that was the 1st place at Wolverhampton two starts ago. Struggled in a much warmer race at Kempton lto and now drops back to the calmer waters of another Class 4 and has to be taken seriously in this. Will be absolutely fine over this trip, it’s his norm and whilst there is a slight break to contend with, does go well fresh and yard have a good record with horses returning from 60+ days so know how to ready them. Yard enjoying a strong spell at the moment with a 28% fortnightly strikerate and Jack Callan retains the ride from the last few runs. Big chance on return to action and would not be a surprise winner.

Lightly raced improver who won well on his second start and has strong collateral form. Nico De Boinville is a huge plus around Sandown, and further improvement is expected.
