Talented and nicely bred youngster out of the Varian yard who ran a cracker on debut at Newmarket and came a close second. Open to lots of improvement and the bare form of that race is the best in the field. Oisin Murphy booked and he has a near 30% strikrate in the last fortnight as well as a good course record and a 21% win rate on Varian trained horses. Classic Cuvee holds a fillies’ mile entry and is absolutely the one to beat today but aside from a big improver upsetting the result, i dont think anything in this line up holds up to Classic Cuvee. Should win.

Consistent performer at the start of the year on the all weather and won in good style on seasonal turf debut at Catterick. Mark went up 4 for that win and struggled a bit on last start but this remains workable under the right conditions and we have that today. Sophar Sogood has the plum inside draw at a course that should suit along with the experience and talent of Paul Mulrennan as jockey. This isnt a race that looks out of reach and we are likely to see this experienced 8 year old involved once again.

The inside draw at Chester is a huge advantage, and with experienced jockey Paul Mulrennan in the saddle, he could easily get involved at a double-figure price.

Two year old out of the 2000 Guineas winner Night Of Thunder who cost an eye watering 750,000gns as a yearling. Made a promising start to career with a comfortable debut win at York back in June. The Burke’s are having a stellar season with their two year olds and Hankelow looks extremely promising. Beautifully bred and highly talented and holds multiple big race entries. Quite simply Hankelow should take a step forward here and win this also. Major player and looks a bright star in the making so far.

Three year old who has been better than ever since handicapping with a quickfire hattrick earlier this year. Close second last time out and the winner of that went on to win the Melrose so the form is strong. Represents a big yard who are in form and has talented Luke Morris aboard. Goes up in distance for the first time but nothing on breeding that looks negative for that. Has a better chance than the odds would say currently and may sneak a win at a nice price today.

Form earlier in career was a slow burner but was progressive which ultimately culminated in a win at Kempton at the start of the year. In the handicaps since its been a mixed bag and hasn’t really reached potential yet but has been involved in some hotly contested large field races. The potential rain is a slight concern today but if it stays on the drier side, Purple Rainbow is an obvious player. Yard and jockey both in scintillating form and have good records here, big chance.

Nothing looks overly unopposable in this field and you dont get much better bookings than Billy Loughnane at the moment. Billy is a man on a hot streak and will give this regular placer a good chance of winning here.
