West Ham head into this fixture off the back of two impressive away draws against Manchester United and Brighton. Those results have steadied the ship, but they remain in the relegation zone and are still without a clean sheet since August.

Aston Villa, by contrast, are one of the Premier League’s form sides. They have won eight Premier League games in a row and nine of their last ten overall. Last weekend’s 2 to 1 victory over Arsenal underlined their title credentials and they followed that up with a Europa League win in Basel.

Villa sit seventeen points clear of West Ham after fifteen league matches and while their victories are often narrow, they are ruthlessly efficient.

Draw or Aston Villa

Villa are unbeaten in their last six meetings with West Ham and have avoided defeat in all of their recent trips to the London Stadium.

They have won nine of their last ten Premier League matches and arrive with far greater confidence, cohesion and goal threat. West Ham’s improved organisation has helped them avoid defeats, but they continue to struggle to turn draws into wins.

This double chance selection protects against another West Ham stalemate while still siding with the league’s in form side.

Fixtures involving West Ham regularly produce cards, particularly at home where they spend long spells defending and chasing the ball.

Against a West Ham side that looks to feed Bowen and Paqueta between the lines, Kamara is likely to be drawn into at least one tactical foul. This is a low line that fits the game state and his defensive responsibilities.
