Chelsea v Crystal Palace – Premier League

Date: Sunday 17 August 2025
Kick-Off: 14:00
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Broadcast: Sky Go, Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Ultra HD, Sky Sports Main Event

Match Overview;

Fresh from inflicting a recent 3-0 victory over the Champions League winners, PSG, along with back-to-back pre-season wins, Chelsea will play host to London rivals Crystal Palace in their season-opener at Stamford Bridge with continued optimism after achieving a 4th place finish at the end of last season.

The Blues have bolstered their attacking personnel with the signings of winger Estevao along with forwards Liam Delap and Joao Pedro from Ipswich Town and Brighton respectively, while Cole Palmer will be looking to build upon an impressive campaign last season.

Crystal Palace enjoyed a successful campaign in the Premier League last season as The Eagles achieved a creditable 12th place finish in the table and the icing on the cake for the visitors was a 1-0 win against Manchester City in the FA Cup final which has also earned Oliver Glasners side a place in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers as well.

Palace have certainly made progress under the guidance of the Austrian coach and this is underlined by the fact that The Eagles slipped to just five losses in their 19 away games last term, picking up seven wins and seven draws.

Team News: Chelsea will be without long-term absentee Levi Colwill with a torn ACL along with injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile. Forward Nicholas Jackson is suspended but Joao Pedro lokks set to start up front.

Crystal Palace midfielder Daichi Kamada limped off in last weekends Community Shield but Adam Whartons return is a welcome boost for Oliver Glasners side.

Hull City v Oxford United – Championship

Date: Sunday 17 August 2025
Kick-Off: 15:00
Venue: MKM Stadium
Broadcast: Live audio via bet365

 Match Overview;

New Hull City coach, Sergej Jakirović, will be lifting his players for this upcoming home game against Oxford United in the Championship on Sunday afternoon following The Tigersmidweek defeat on penalties away from home to Wrexham in the EFL Cup as the hosts go in search of their first competitive win this season. Hull City picked up a useful point in a 0-0 stalemate away from home at Coventry City on the opening day of the Championship season but having drawn 0-0 with Spanish La Liga side Getafe in their final pre-season game, its now three games without a win for Sergej Jakirovićs side.

Oxford United were dealt an opening day 1-0 defeat at home to Portsmouth last Saturday at the Kassam Stadium but The Us quickly recovered in midweek as Gary Rowetts side registered a 1-0 home win against League Two outfit Colchester United to progress through to the 2nd round of the domestic cup competition. The visitors finished last term in 17th place in the Championship table upon their return to the second tier and The Us look to have a decent chance of picking up at least a point against a Hull City side who have made an indifferent start to this new season on Sunday.

Team News: Hull City will be without five key players including centre-back Semi Ajayi through injury for this upcoming clash, while team captain Lewie Coyle is rated as doubtful.

Oxford United will also be without Luke Harris, Ole Romeny and Ciaron Brown while Cagliari loanee Nik Prelec is still building up match fitness and may not feature.

Manchester United v Arsenal – Premier League

Date: Sunday 17 August 2025
Kick-Off: 16:30
Venue: Old Trafford
Broadcast: Sky Go, Sky Sports Premier League, Sky Sports Ultra HD, Sky Sports Main Event

 Match Overview;

Manchester United certainly splashed the cash during the summer transfer window as the Red Devils signed Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko in deals totalling over 200 million euros as Ruben Amorim continues to find the perfect blend for his squad after enduring a woeful campaign last term. Indeed, a 15th place finish in last seasons Premier League campaign will not be tolerated again and Uniteds misery was complete following a 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the final of the Europa League. Much better is needed and needed fast for the hosts.

Arsenal once again finished runners-up at the end of last seasons Premier League campaign some 10 points behind title-winners Liverpool but nevertheless, it was considered a successful campaign for The Gunners who achieved Champions League football again for this season. If Bukayo Sako can remain fitter for longer along with introduction of new signings Viktor Gyokeres, winger Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi, the north London club should figure again in a top four finish.

Team News: Uniteds three new signings Mbeumo, Sesko and Cunha could all be handed starts while Joshua Zirkzee and Andre Onana have both overcome injuries but Noussair Mazraoui (hamstring) and Lisandro Martinez (knee) are both absent.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is hopeful that Leandro Trossard will be fit in time but a long-term ACL injury will rule out forward Gabriel Jesus.

TipMan’s Verdict
  • Crystal Palace Double Chance

  • Oxford United Double Chance

  • Manchester United Double Chance

TipMan Verdict: This treble leans on resilience and value rather than heavy favourites, creating a realistic yet rewarding path to a strong Sunday return. Palace’s away record, Oxford’s chance against an unsettled Hull, and United’s need to steady the ship against Arsenal combine for a smartly constructed acca.
