Ok so the 2025 FedEx St Jude Championship is upon us from TPC Southwind the only PGA tour private course in Tennessee. This course is one of the most challenging courses on the tour that doesn’t host a major and all bodes well for a fantastic week Designed in 1988 by Ron Pritchard this tough course is playing 7,244 yards and PAR 70. This is the third year the tournament will be held here after previously being rotated around the East Coast.

 

Accuracy and power will be needed on all 4 days here this week with water in the conversation on 10 of the 18 holes, none more so than the iconic PAR 3 hole 11. The rough could become an issue here for players who aren’t hitting fairways so golfers with strong iron play will be the ones to benefit most. The last 3 years have seen tight finishes with last year’s winner Hideki Matsuyama winning by 2 and the previous 2 years both final rounds going to a play off  and with a very strong field including world number one Scottie Scheffler it’s time to strap yourself in.

This golf course requires top quality ball striking abilities and Hovland has that in abundance and having already won on a similar course in terms of FIR earlier in the year he is my pick to be the outright winner here. Already a FedEx cup winner and despite a poor showing at The Open Championship this could be the tournament for \viktor to get back amongst the winners.

A winner this year at RBC Heritage his first since 2022 this has been a much better season for Justin, Not the greatest of outings here last year (T30) he will be looking to equal or better his 4th place finish here back in 2021. Great form this year having achieved three second-place finishes and four top-10 finishes in his last ten events this price is great value to find Justin amongst the places once again.

Rai is second on tour in driving accuracy, and finding the fairways is of huge importance at TPC Southwind. Showed plenty of game in defense of his Wyndham title last week. With a 290 yard driving average that could be key around Southwind if he can be accurate and he has certainly shown he can do both this season. Great each way chance and definitely one to watch for Tipman.
