Liverpool vs Aston Villa Kick-Off, Date & TV Info

Date: Saturday, November 1
Kick-off: 8pm
Venue: Anfield, Liverpool
Competition: Premier League
TV: TNT Sports 1

Liverpool welcome Aston Villa to Anfield on Saturday night hoping that a new month brings a change in fortunes after a poor run of form under Arne Slot. The Reds have lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions and four straight in the Premier League, falling seven points behind the leaders.

Villa arrive in the opposite mood, full of confidence after four consecutive league wins including a 1-0 victory over Manchester City last weekend. Unai Emery’s side have climbed level on points with Liverpool and look organised, resilient, and capable of causing another upset.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa Preview

It has been a tough few weeks for Arne Slot’s side. Liverpool were outplayed by Crystal Palace in midweek, losing 3-0 in the EFL Cup, and are clearly struggling for rhythm at both ends of the pitch. Injuries haven’t helped, and the Reds look far less balanced without Alisson and a few other regulars.

They’ve conceded 14 goals in nine league games and have kept just two clean sheets across 14 matches in all competitions. Their attack also looks flat, with Mohamed Salah quieter than usual and creative spark lacking behind him.

Aston Villa, meanwhile, have turned a poor start into real momentum. Emery’s side have won six of their last seven matches in all competitions, beating both Tottenham and Manchester City in that run. They are unbeaten in their last three away league games and playing with discipline and purpose.

Three of the last five league meetings between these two have ended level, including a 2-2 draw in February, and this has the makings of another competitive contest between sides heading in different directions.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa Team News and Predicted Line-Ups

Arne Slot is expected to recall his main starters after resting several for the midweek EFL Cup defeat. Alisson remains out, so Mamardashvili continues in goal. Frimpong, Gravenberch and Kerkez are slight doubts, while Van Dijk, Konate and Salah all return to the XI. Gakpo and Szoboszlai should also start as Liverpool look to stop a run of four league defeats.

Unai Emery’s side are almost full strength and unchanged after beating Manchester City. Tielemans and Buendia are out, but Kamara and McGinn anchor midfield with Rogers and Diaby supporting Watkins and Sancho in attack.

Predicted Line-Ups

Liverpool (4-2-3-1): Mamardashvili; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Wirtz, Gravenberch; Szoboszlai, Gakpo, Díaz; Salah

Aston Villa (4-2-2-2): Martínez; Cash, Konsa, Pau Torres, Digne; Kamara, McGinn; Rogers, Diaby; Watkins, Sancho

Liverpool vs Aston Villa Bet Builder Tip

Liverpool or Draw

Liverpool are struggling for form, but Anfield remains a difficult place to win. They’ve only lost twice at home in the past year and are unbeaten in their last seven against Villa at this venue. The double chance adds security to a volatile fixture.

Over 2.5 Goals

Recent meetings have often featured two or three goals, and with both sides pushing forward, this could open up quickly. Liverpool’s defence looks shaky, while Villa are full of confidence going forward, making over 2.5 goals a realistic line.

Over 8.5 Corners

Liverpool’s aggressive press and attacking width regularly produce high corner counts. Villa’s direct style adds to that pattern, and matches at Anfield this season have averaged close to 10 corners per game.

Over 3.5 Cards

This fixture tends to get physical, with both teams pressing high and contesting every duel. Villa’s midfield, led by McGinn and Kamara, commits regular tactical fouls, while Liverpool’s defenders have been caught out in transition. Four or more cards is a fair expectation.

Conor Bradley – 1+ Foul

Bradley plays with intensity and often gets too tight to his man. He’s already been booked five times this season and is likely to commit at least one foul against quick wide players like Morgan Rogers or Jadon Sancho.

John McGinn – 1+ Foul

McGinn’s energy and aggression are key to Villa’s midfield. He’s one of the most frequent foulers in the squad and almost always picks up at least one for tactical play or breaking up counters.

Matty Cash – 1+ Foul

Cash will face plenty of one-on-one duels on Liverpool’s left. His defending is combative, and he averages over one foul per match in the league, making this a smart inclusion.

Ryan Gravenberch – 1+ Foul

Gravenberch is likely to start in central midfield and will be heavily involved in defensive transitions. He presses high and makes recovery tackles, so committing at least one foul fits his usual match profile.

Mohamed Salah – 1+ Shot on Target

Even in poor form, Salah remains Liverpool’s most reliable attacking outlet. He’s registered a shot on target in nine of 13 appearances this season and is still the most likely player to test the goalkeeper.
