Reason for Tip

Three year old who is in great form which reads 12331 since September. Runs under a penalty for the win at Chelmsford lto but the ever shrewd Bell yard have called on apprentice Joe Bradman and his 7lb allowance today which nullifies the penalty entirely and so Cardinal Point is a major danger off the same mark here. Has won here previously and this trip whilst further than recently looks to be suited on pedigree and from what we’ve seen. Yard going very well at the moment and have good history here. Cardinal point looks the likely winner off top weight and should take this is repeating the consistency we’ve seen of late.

Fort Rock made the perfect start to his career when battling on debut to score at Kempton last month and shaped like a colt with plenty of upside. He showed grit, class, and determination that day and is exactly the type Appleby youngsters thrive from second-time out.

A penalty is applied, but it’s offset by expected natural improvement and a great draw. With Buick booked and the yard thriving, Fort Rock looks set to progress past this field and make it two from two.

Reason for Tip

Four year old who has failed to fire recently owing to the mark it seems. Won here back in August off a mark of 52 and has struggled off the high 50s since. Now back down a reasonable mark of 55 and shouldn’t be written off today off that mark. Enjoys this track and the return here is likely to yield better results than recently, particularly off the reduced mark. This isn’t a strong race by any means it’s pretty wide open. Jockey Paddy Bradley has a respectable course record and knows how to get the job done. Zaltalla’s best runs, including the win here came when running prominently and has a plum draw in stall 2 to get out quickly at the front of the pack which should be right where he needs to be to feature today. Big odds, but not without chances for at least a place.

This race has depth on paper, but Harswell Ruby is knocking loudly on the door with form figures 25224, including a strong Class 2 second here recently. She handles conditions, thrives at the track, and today’s heavy forecast suits her running style.

Well handicapped and partnered by a red-hot Kevin Stott, she should be prominent throughout and has big each-way appeal. A bold run is expected.

Track form, mark now workable, jockey in form, ideal conditions.

Progressive two year old with form of 3432. The second lto was not far away and this is a more than reasonable entry point for handicap debut. Looks to be a very workable mark and Noble Vow has a plum draw out of stall 2. Course debut here but has shown an affinity for the AW already and should be fine here. Yard have a good record here and are ticking along nicely. Sean Levey gets the ride and he has a good strikerate on Hannon trained horses at this track and there is a lot to nice about Noble Vow’s chances and a winning handicap debut looks quite likely.

Thrice raced youngster out of the Walker yard who took a big step forward on second start when finishing a close third at Leicester. Disappointing lto when not progressing and finishing 7th but excuses can be made on the ground for that performance and back on good to soft today which is much more suited. Remains very unexposed and is taken to resume progress from the Leicester run. Represents a shrewd and successful yard and has the experienced Paul Mulrennan aboard for the riding. Yard have a very good record here and Paul has ridden 25% of Walker runners at Redcar to victory previously. Big chance for this young filly here.

Experienced 8 year old who returned to action after a short break with an easy win at Huntingdon last month. Has been sent up 8lb for that which is a bit of a hike up the ratings but that race was won very easily and the second has gone in since franking the form a little. Distance is right within ideal range and forecasted ground looks suited. Does seem like this mark should be workable and with Sean Bowen aboard today, that only enhances the chances. Zestful Hope has never won here but has run well in defeat previously and has a great chance today.

Relatively weak race here in the 5.30 and one that Likealot looks set to strike in. Consistently ran well at this distance with form of 222 at this trip. Has been knocking on the door and a win looks imminent and this race looks the best chance he has had in a while. Represents a top yard with a good jockey aboard and both of them have good records here, particularly the yard who are running at 33% strikerate at the course. Hector Crouch has won almost a quarter of his races this last fortnight and is a man in good form. Lots to like about Likealot here, pun intended and will take some beating.

Consistent and progressing. Handicap debut in a weaker race and looks ready to take advantage of a fair mark.

Well-bred debutant from a yard flying with juveniles on the AW. Good draw, good booking, very strong profile.
