Bective Abbey
Reason for Tip
Eight year old Bective Abbey has had a good transition into chasing and form since changing to this discipline has been 222. Yet to get the job done over fences but yard have found him a cracking little race here which looks his for the taking. Represents a drop in class today, over his ideal trip and on ground he will relish. This race won’t take as much winning as the contests he’s finished runner up in and the form from the Kempton race the day after boxing day is strong and noteworthy. From a major yard with a 46% course strikerate at Hereford and has a top jockey aboard in James Bowen who’s won more than a quarter of his races in the last month. Yard and jockey have a fantastic record together and Bective Abbey looks set for a first chasing win today. Very likely winner.
Free Your Spirit – 5.30 Kempton (Evens)
Trainer: Richard Hughes | Jockey: Donagh Murphy
Free Your Spirit looks the standout on the card. He showed promise on debut before improving dramatically to win comfortably at Wolverhampton last time out, pulling clear by three lengths with plenty in hand.
He carries a 7lb penalty today, but that is completely negated by the booking of talented apprentice Donagh Murphy, who takes off 7lb. Drawn well in stall 2 and still very much unexposed, Free Your Spirit looks to have far more upside than his rivals.
Unless something improves out of all recognition, he should take a lot of beating and looks a very strong NAP.

Chelmsford Mile Series Qualifier Handicap - Chelmsford City
Nordic Norm
Reason for Tip
Pretty open race here in the last of the day and one who looks set for a big run is four year old Nordic Norm from the Jenkins yard. Failed to feature for Karl Burke last year after starting life in much deeper races. Has been there of thereabouts in last three starts with form of 445 and the fifth lto wasn’t far away, about 3 lengths behind the winner. Has now dropped another 3lb to a mark of 69 and likely to be going close today at a big price. Runs his usual trip at a track he has ran well at before and has a strong draw from stall 3. Does his best running from the front half of the pack and we are likely to see those tactics employed here today. Neither yard or jockey have overly good records at present but Nordic Norm is on a mark that’s a little hard to ignore now and so a chance is taken on him. Big price, but a chance.
The Organiser – 3.35 Lingfield (10/1)
Trainer: M Pattinson | Jockey: K T O’Neill
The Organiser is now extremely well handicapped, running off a mark of 63 — 1lb below his last winning mark and a full 7lb below his highest winning rating.
He shaped well last time out when finishing third in a stronger Class 4 race at this track and now drops back into Class 6 company, which gives him a huge chance. The same 6f trip suits, and in a wide-open race, The Organiser looks overpriced at double-figure odds and capable of going very close.
Betfair Racing Podcasts Juvenile Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) - Sandown
Galactique
Reason for Tip
Four year old Galactique has shown plenty of promise including a Fontwell double on only his second and third starts over obstacles. Sent up to a grade 2 at Cheltenham back in November which was a tough assignment on rather heavy ground which isn’t wholly suited. Makes handicap debut off a very reasonable opening mark and looks a big threat today in this race. Trip is very well suited and the firmer ground than lto is a major positive. Open to plenty of further progression and represents a yard who’ve had a very good year so far. Stable jockey Caoilin Quinn gets the ride and Galactique looks primed for a winning start to handicapping today. Big chance.
Make The Move To Midnite Handicap - Wolverhampton
Knebworth
Reason for Tip
Knebworth has contested this race twice previously and hasn’t finished out of the top 4 in those runs. Both of those efforts in this race were when returning from a break but this time has had a run after the break and that was a strongly run race at Chelmsford in January which he won handily. Remains on a very workable mark and has a good draw today from stall 4. Stable are currently firing which stands this boy in good stead and has a great jockey aboard in Billy Loughnane who is a regular winner at this track. Will likely take up a prominent position from this draw and will be hard to peg back if given the freedom up top. Major player.
Ayrshire Handicap Chase (GBB Race) - Ayr
Ned Tanner
Reason for Tip
Four time winner in this discipline and despite the form reading 4732P has ran creditably in a number of much warmer races than this. Remains on a very workable mark and the return to Ayr is a positive today, generally runs very well here and is now 2lb lower than when winning this race last year. Will appreciate the soft ground today and despite being ten, retains plenty of ability and experience to get the job done in this. Yard ticking along very nicely and so is Sean Quinlan the jockey. Yard and jockey have a 40% strikerate at this track together and might be adding to that tally here if Ned Tanner produces what we know he can.
Midnite: Built For 2026 Not 2006 Handicap - Wolverhampton
Mr Nugget
Reason for Tip
Consistent five year old with good recent form of 351121 including two wins and a second place over C&D. Love this course and the return here following the win at Southwell lto is a positive. Does now go up in class but has been highly progressive recently at the figures and looks capable of taking this warmer race in his stride off bottom weight. Well drawn in stall 2 to assume his usual position towards the middle front and has a jockey change to Rowan Scott which is no bad thing. Rowan has a good record here and has won on this horse previously. Yard running at a strikerate in the high 20s currently and when stable and jockey combine at this course, they’ve won half of their races. Mr Nugget looks very capable still and is a big danger today.
European Breeders' Fund Betfair 'National Hunt' Novices' Handicap Hurdle Final (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) - Sandown
Four Springs
Reason for Tip
Four Springs arrives with one of the more progressive novice handicap profiles in the field, having posted steadily improving figures across his last three hurdle starts. His recent ratings put him firmly in the mix at this level and he has shaped as though a strongly-run two-mile handicap plays to his strengths. He travels smoothly off a solid tempo and has recorded above-average closing sectionals in comparable company. In a deep Premier Handicap where pace and positioning are crucial, his upward trajectory and ability to finish off his race strongly make him a compelling each-way contender.
Make The Move To Midnite Handicap - Wolverhampton
Kullazain
Reason for Tip
Kullazain has been holding form consistently in similar all-weather handicaps and appears fairly treated from his current mark. His recent speed figures stack up well against today’s opposition and he has shown tactical versatility, capable of sitting prominently or tracking the pace. His finishing effort in recent outings suggests he retains late energy, a key asset in tightly matched handicaps. With no obvious concerns regarding surface or trip, he profiles as a solid each-way option in an open contest.
Betfair Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) - Sandown
Go Dante
Reason for Tip
Go Dante brings strong handicap hurdle form into one of the most competitive two-mile races of the spring. He has recorded consistent ratings in the mid-140s range this season, placing him firmly among the main contenders on recent figures. His ability to travel comfortably before delivering a sustained run from two out is well suited to the typically strong gallop of the Imperial Cup. With proven effectiveness in large fields and a mark that remains workable relative to his peak efforts, he looks capable of hitting the frame at minimum and has genuine winning claims if the pace collapses late.
BetMGM Lincoln Trial Handicap - Wolverhampton
Kingdom Come
Reason for Tip
Kingdom Come has been operating consistently in competitive mile handicaps and arrives with speed figures that compare favourably against this field. His recent efforts show he handles strong pace scenarios well, travelling prominently before maintaining his effort in the closing stages. His current rating leaves him competitively weighted relative to his best performances last season. In a race often used as a stepping stone to bigger spring targets, reliability and tactical speed are key, and he brings both to the table.
British Stallion Studs EBF Mares' Standard Open NH Flat Race (Listed) (GBB Race) - Sandown
The Flaggy Shore
Reason for Tip
The Flaggy Shore sets a solid standard based on her recent bumper performance, where she recorded one of the stronger closing sectionals in comparable company. Her debut figure puts her right at the top end of this Listed field and she shaped as though further improvement is likely with experience. In mares’ bumpers at this level, progression between first and second runs is often decisive. With pedigree suggesting stamina and her previous run confirming pace and professionalism, she looks well positioned to take this step up in grade.
Best Odds On The Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase (GBB Race) - Sandown
Calimystic
Reason for Tip
Calimystic has produced consistent chase figures this season and appears well handicapped relative to his peak hurdle ratings. His recent efforts show improved fluency over fences, maintaining rhythm and accuracy under pressure. He has demonstrated stamina at this trip and tends to travel strongly before staying on late — a valuable asset in competitive handicap chases. With a mark that does not look prohibitive and solid form against similar opposition, he rates as a dependable each-way contender in a race where jumping accuracy and racecraft will likely prove decisive.
Tiger Crusade – 1.05 Lingfield (13/2)
Trainer: D M Simcock | Jockey: Callum Shepherd
Tiger Crusade can be a little awkward at times, but he showed his ability when taking advantage of a class drop to score at Brighton back in June. He returned from a break last time out here at Lingfield and ran a perfectly credible race when finishing third.
That run should have blown away the cobwebs, and he now returns to the same track, same trip, and same mark, which looks a big positive. Drawn reasonably in stall 5 and partnered by Callum Shepherd, this race is well within reach. A fitter Tiger Crusade looks set to produce a big run.
Forceful Lady – 2.35 Lingfield (4/1)
Trainer: A W Carroll | Jockey: William Carson
Forceful Lady has taken a big step forward in recent starts and looks to be turning a corner. She finished second at Wolverhampton in November and looked the likely winner last time at Chelmsford before being badly hampered late on.
She runs here off a very workable mark in what looks a weak race on paper. A plum draw in stall 1 suits her front-running style perfectly, and William Carson retains the ride. If allowed an easy lead, Forceful Lady may take some catching.
Lerwick – 6.00 Kempton (7/2)
Trainer: D M Loughnane | Jockey: George Wood
This is a tricky race, but Lerwick looks to hold strong claims. He struggled for form over 6f earlier in the season but showed much more when stepped back up to 7f here at Kempton last time, finishing a close third in a competitive field.
The return of blinkers is a major positive, as many of his best performances have come with the headgear applied. Drawn wide in stall 8, he’ll need to break well, but if able to race prominently, Lerwick looks a major player in an open contest.
Popmaster – 6.30 Kempton (5/1)
Trainer: Ed Walker | Jockey: Oisin Murphy
Popmaster is an eight-year-old who has hinted at a return to form of late, with his third at Southwell last time out representing his best run for some time. He should now be spot on fitness-wise after two runs this winter.
A drop back to 7f looks a sensible move, and a perfect draw in stall 1 is another plus. Add in the booking of Oisin Murphy for a yard that does well at Kempton, and Popmaster looks capable of going very close in a modest race.
