Twice raced three year old who was fourth on debut before showing leaps and bounds of improvement to win lto at Wolverhampton by 3lengths. Was an easy and comfortably victory and this colt has a 7lb penalty today as a result. However, the ever shrewd Hughes yard has booked talented apprentice Donagh Murphy for the ride who has a 7lb apprentice allowance meaning Free Your Spirit runs off the same as lto. Has a good draw in stall 2 and remains open to plenty of further progression. Doesn’t seem much in this field that can oppose this boy today and bar a freak improver, he looks to have this one in the bag. Should win.

Free Your Spirit – 5.30 Kempton (Evens)

Trainer: Richard Hughes | Jockey: Donagh Murphy

Free Your Spirit looks the standout on the card. He showed promise on debut before improving dramatically to win comfortably at Wolverhampton last time out, pulling clear by three lengths with plenty in hand.

He carries a 7lb penalty today, but that is completely negated by the booking of talented apprentice Donagh Murphy, who takes off 7lb. Drawn well in stall 2 and still very much unexposed, Free Your Spirit looks to have far more upside than his rivals.

Unless something improves out of all recognition, he should take a lot of beating and looks a very strong NAP.

The Organiser won back in September at Brighton but hasn’t coped with the increase since. However is now very well handicapped off a mark of 63 today, 1lb below his Brighton win and 7 below highest winning mark. Ran nicely lto when third in a Class 4 at this track and drops down into Class 6 company today. Runs the same 6f trip as lto and looks set for a big run off this rather lowly mark. This is a pretty wide open race and looks like plenty have chances and The Organiser is taken to push on from that good run lto and is by no means out of winning a race of this calibre today. Decent chance considering the odds.

The Organiser is now extremely well handicapped, running off a mark of 63 — 1lb below his last winning mark and a full 7lb below his highest winning rating.

He shaped well last time out when finishing third in a stronger Class 4 race at this track and now drops back into Class 6 company, which gives him a huge chance. The same 6f trip suits, and in a wide-open race, The Organiser looks overpriced at double-figure odds and capable of going very close.

Not the simplest of horses at times but took advantage of a drop in class back in June when winning at Brighton. Returned for seasonal reappearance lto here at Lingfield and was a credible third that day. Remains on the same mark, at the same track and over the same trip and should stirp much fitter today after that run. Has an ok draw out of stall 5 and a good jockey in Callum Shepherd. This race is by now means out of reach and Tiger Crusade looks set for a big run.

Three year old Forceful Lady has turned a corner of late and been running much better than previously. Was second at Wolverhampton in November but looking very good for a long way at Chelmsford lto before being hampered in the closing stages. Clearly on a very workable mark and looks the pick of the bunch today. This isn’t a strong race at all and Forceful Lady has put together two strong performances of late and looks primed to grab the win. Has a plum draw in stall 1 and William Carson retains the ride. She has done her best running from the front and would expect similar tactics here. If the field give her an easy lead, they may not catch her. Big chance.

Trappy little race this 6.00 and one who looks to have a great chance is six year old Lerwick from the Loughnane stable. Never really finding much in spell over 6f and returned to 7f lto here at Kempton and looked much better with a very close third of twelve. Gets 7f again today and blinkers return today, a positive given Lerwicks best performances have often come when the blinkers are on. Loughnane yard has a decent record here and George Wood is a good booking. Does have a wide draw from stall 8 to contend with and does tend to run on the prominent side of the race so hopefully gets out quick to take up a frontal position early. Open race, and Lerwick looks a likely winner.

Popmaster has showed hints at promise of later after a disappointing time earlier this year and the third last time out at Southwell was this eight year olds best run in a while. Should be primed today after two runs so far this winter and looks a big threat today in what is a rather ordinary race. Has a great draw in stall 1 and the drop back to 7f is arguably a positive. Represents a top yard who generally do very well here and one of the best in the business aboard in Oisin Murphy. May take some pegging back today and after progressive runs since returning and is taken to get the job done.

🍀 Lucky 15 Tips Today

Tiger Crusade – 1.05 Lingfield (13/2)

Tiger Crusade can be a little awkward at times, but he showed his ability when taking advantage of a class drop to score at Brighton back in June. He returned from a break last time out here at Lingfield and ran a perfectly credible race when finishing third.

That run should have blown away the cobwebs, and he now returns to the same track, same trip, and same mark, which looks a big positive. Drawn reasonably in stall 5 and partnered by Callum Shepherd, this race is well within reach. A fitter Tiger Crusade looks set to produce a big run.

Forceful Lady – 2.35 Lingfield (4/1)

Trainer: A W Carroll | Jockey: William Carson

Forceful Lady has taken a big step forward in recent starts and looks to be turning a corner. She finished second at Wolverhampton in November and looked the likely winner last time at Chelmsford before being badly hampered late on.

She runs here off a very workable mark in what looks a weak race on paper. A plum draw in stall 1 suits her front-running style perfectly, and William Carson retains the ride. If allowed an easy lead, Forceful Lady may take some catching.

Lerwick – 6.00 Kempton (7/2)

Trainer: D M Loughnane | Jockey: George Wood

This is a tricky race, but Lerwick looks to hold strong claims. He struggled for form over 6f earlier in the season but showed much more when stepped back up to 7f here at Kempton last time, finishing a close third in a competitive field.

The return of blinkers is a major positive, as many of his best performances have come with the headgear applied. Drawn wide in stall 8, he’ll need to break well, but if able to race prominently, Lerwick looks a major player in an open contest.

Popmaster – 6.30 Kempton (5/1)

Trainer: Ed Walker | Jockey: Oisin Murphy

Popmaster is an eight-year-old who has hinted at a return to form of late, with his third at Southwell last time out representing his best run for some time. He should now be spot on fitness-wise after two runs this winter.

A drop back to 7f looks a sensible move, and a perfect draw in stall 1 is another plus. Add in the booking of Oisin Murphy for a yard that does well at Kempton, and Popmaster looks capable of going very close in a modest race.
