Crest Environmental Services 25th Anniversary Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race) - Bangor-on-Dee
In The Age
Reason for Tip
Very low mileage five year old from the Skeltons who was an easy irish point winner before winning on first start for the Skeltons at Southwell back in December last year. Not disgraced when third on second start and excuses can be made when going down beaten favourite at Aintree on seasonal debut lto. In The Age is very unexposed, has shown ability and quite frankly not all horses go that well fresh so should strip much fitter for the run out last month and be a different proposition here today. This isn’t a strong race and the yard are absolutely flying at the moment. In The Age is the only runner in the field with a run under his belt already this year and that may be a big difference maker if the others aren’t fully tuned up. Improvement is likely from this boy and he looks the winner in waiting in this race today.
In The Age – 12:30 Bangor-On-Dee (5/4)
Trainer: Dan Skelton
Jockey: Harry Skelton
Lightly raced and still full of potential, In The Age remains a highly progressive type for the Skelton yard. A convincing Irish point winner and an easy scorer at Southwell last December, he returned this season with a slightly underwhelming Aintree effort — but that run can be forgiven.
Crucially, he is the only horse in this field with a run under his belt this season, and that fitness edge could be decisive. The ground, trip and track conditions look ideal, and this is not a deep race on paper. With the yard in blistering form and Harry retaining the ride, In The Age is the clear standout and expected to win.

Coral Racing Club Handicap Hurdle - Ayr
Platin Moon
Reason for Tip
Platin Moon is low mileage and much more unexposed than most of this field. Has ran four times including when 5th of 10 in a Class 1 listed event. Has ran once this season already which was handicap debut and wasn’t quite tuned up that day and ran a bit freely. However, we have not seen the best of this youngster yet and should strip much fitter for that run out and looks a rather tasty price at 8/1 at the time of writing. The increased trip today looks to be a smart move, Platin Moon has seemed wanting for that extra yardage and on pedigree it’s a good decision. Not a tough field this one and with some inevitable improvement on what’s only Platin Moons fifth start, he could improve beyond his odds and take this race today. Yard ticking along and decent booking in Bruce Lynn who has a decent record at the track. Not the most successful of trainers, but the Alexander yard have found success at Ayr on a number occasions, and this may be another.
Platin Moon – 1:45 Ayr (8/1)
Trainer: N W Alexander
Jockey: Bruce Lynn
Platin Moon remains unexposed and has the profile to step forward significantly today. His form includes a respectable run in a Class 1 listed race, and although he raced keenly and lacked sharpness on handicap debut, he should strip fitter today.
The step up in trip looks ideal — his pedigree and running style strongly suggest he wants further. This isn’t a deep race, and many rivals have long layoffs or questionable consistency. With natural improvement expected on only his fifth career start, Platin Moon could easily outrun his odds and land a big one for the Alexander yard.
A live outsider.
Paul Ferguson Jumpers To Follow Handicap Chase (GBB Race) - Bangor-on-Dee
Reallyntruthfully
Reason for Tip
Reliable six year old who aside from the last run of last years campaign which was a hot Class 2 at Cheltenham, has form of 5211. Returned this season with a comfortable chase win at Fontwell last month and despite the 7lb rise, looks capable of going in again. Should strip fitter for that run out and I’d be surprised if we’ve seen the ceiling already frankly. Travelled very strong in that Fontwell race and looked to have plenty in the tank. Good to soft ground today is absolutely fine and the trip is ideal. Course debut at Bangor-On-Dee but nothing to suggest there is negatives to that. Represents a decent yard with a good jockey aboard in Tom Bellamy who has a great record here. Good chance to defy the handicapper today.
Weatherbys And Birdie Calendars Handicap Chase (GBB Race) - Bangor-on-Dee
Richmond Lake
Reason for Tip
Richmond Lake failed to enter the winners circle last year but on most occasions ran very well in defeat including when third in the Peter Marsh at Haydock. Couple of bad performances at the end of the last season put this nine year old on a very tempting mark, and he has also had a wind op since last years campaign. We know he can handle the 3miles and the ground is of no concern. Represents a good stable and Brian Hughes takes the reigns as he usually does for Richmond Lake’s runs. This boy is 5 below highest winning mark and if going well fresh after the break is a major player here today. Every chance.
Book Online At DundalkStadium.com Nursery Handicap - Dundalk
Elly Bay
Reason for Tip
Two year old from the Murtagh’s who’s showed ability in what we’ve seen so far and the only real blip to the form was a 9th place finish at The Curragh back in September. Handicap debut here today and it isn’t an overly strong entry point for Elly Bay and this filly has a plum draw from stall 2. Yard are a shrewd operation and have a decent record here along with a respectable strike rate recently. Ben Coen aboard and he has won plenty on Murtagh trained horses over the years and its a strong booking. Elly Bay looks capable of taking with some progression and improvement on last start.
Coral 'We're Here For It' Handicap Chase (GBB Race) - Ayr
De Legislator
Reason for Tip
Today marks the seasonal return for eight year old De Legislator from the Russell yard. Proven ability and numerous wins over the years and he ended last year with a strong win at Wetherby for which he’s gone up 4lb. Still remains on a very workable mark and has gone well fresh previously. This doesn’t look to be an overly strong race here today and there’s question marks over most of the field. De Legislator is rather versatile to the ground and the forecast soft is a positive more than anything, softer the better for this boy. From a respected trainer with a top jockey aboard in Derek Fox who has a sterling record at this track. Lots to like here, and if going well fresh, should get the job done.
1️⃣ Reallyntruthfully – 1:00 Bangor-On-Dee (9/2)
Trainer: K Bailey & M Nicholls – Jockey: Thomas Bellamy
Returned this season with an impressive chase win at Fontwell and looks far from finished despite a 7lb rise. Form figures (5211 before last season’s Cheltenham run) show strong progression. Trip, ground and jockey booking all in his favour. Major chance to follow up.
2️⃣ Richmond Lake – 2:00 Bangor-On-Dee (9/2)
Trainer: Donald McCain – Jockey: Brian Hughes
Consistent last season and drops to a very workable mark after a wind operation. Proven at the trip, proven on the ground, and represents a yard that excels at Bangor. If ready after the break, he’s a strong winning contender.
3️⃣ Elly Bay – 3:10 Dundalk (9/2)
Trainer: J P Murtagh – Jockey: Ben Coen
Handicap debut with a perfect draw (stall 2). Stable is sharp at this venue and this filly has shown enough ability to suggest a win in this grade is realistic. Improvement expected. Big player today.
4️⃣ De Legislator – 1:15 Ayr (3/1)
Trainer: Lucinda Russell – Jockey: Derek Fox
Returns from a break but has winning form fresh and runs off a workable mark. Loves softer conditions and represents a top Ayr team. With question marks over much of the field, he looks extremely solid.
