Pure Carbon

J: Paul O'Brien T: Harry Derham
Race Winner
15/8

Reason for Tip

Small field race here in the penultimate race at Stratford and the one to beat very much looks to be Pure Carbon from the Derham yard. Two wins over fences this season and wasn’t far away when third at Ascot last month. This is very much a weaker race today and Pure Carbon remains on a workable mark and should go very well again here in suited conditions. The rest of the field have marks to defy or breaks to overcome and Pure Carbon is primed and ready to go on a proven mark. Yard and jockey both have strong records at Stratford and have won over a quarter of races when combining here. Pure Carbon looks a very likely victor today.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Party Bear

6.30 Newcastle – 6/4
Trainer: K R Burke
Jockey: Pierre-Louis Jamin

This looks a good opportunity for Party Bear to return to winning ways. The four-year-old won at Lingfield in January over this trip off a mark of 70 and has since shaped well enough to suggest another success is close.

He was a little underwhelming over course and distance two starts ago on his first run off 73, but bounced back nicely last time out when finishing third of eleven in a much warmer Class 3 at Lingfield. That performance reads well in the context of this weaker race.

Back in Class 5 company today, Party Bear looks a major player. The draw is not overly important in this small five-runner field, and he is likely to take up his usual prominent position. If allowed to dictate, he could be very hard to peg back.

With the Burke yard and Pierre-Louis Jamin both holding strong records at Newcastle, Party Bear looks every bit the one to beat.

Miss Denver

J: Toby McCain-Mitchell T: N&W Twiston-Davies
Race Winner
22/1

Reason for Tip

One of the more unexposed types in the race with only three starts to her name and whilst the first two runs were ones to forget, showed more of what is to be expected lto when fourth. This six year old is bred to be much better than those first two starts and so the run last time was very encouraging and may be a springboard to much better today. Will be fine over this trip and should act on this ground. There is a short priced fav at the head of the market who is a little complicated and so looks vulnerable. 22/1 is a big price and based on what Miss Dancer has shown but she’s open to much more progress than most of this field, from a respected yard and has a good jockey aboard in Toby. Bred for better, will we see that today?

🎯 Dark Horse

Party Bear

6.30 Newcastle – 6/4
Trainer: K R Burke
Jockey: Pierre-Louis Jamin

East Eagle

J: Charlie Maggs T: M E Sowersby
Race Winner
6/1

Reason for Tip

Largely consistent six year old with form of 41432 and looks to still be well treated and on a very workable mark. This trip is bang in the middle of this horses range and so no concerns on that front and will act on this ground. This race is pretty open and there is question marks over a few at the head of the market here whereas we are sure to get another good run from this six year old and this looks a very winnable race. Charlie Maggs retains the ride and that’s no negative, has a good record here for an apprentice and he is riding brilliantly at the moment with a strikerate north of 20% for the last two months. Good chance for East Eagle to notch another win today.

Alnofoor

J: Colin Keane T: C O'Connell
Race Winner
5/1

Reason for Tip

Might be an eight year old, but Alnofoor is in the form of his life. Returned from a four year break last year and ran moderately on the AW at Dundalk but has found a new lease of life on turf the last twice with wins at Navan and Bellewstown and has looked better each time. Has to be respected today here at The Curragh as he’s still very low mileage and open to plenty of improvement, particularly with Colin Keane in the saddle today. Has a wide draw but plenty of early speed and the forecasted soft ground is ideal. Yard and jockey have a good record together and Alnofoor looks to have a very realistic chance of completing the hattrick today.

Sammy Smart

J: Darragh O'Keefe T: T Gibney
Race Winner
7/2

Reason for Tip

Ten year old Sammy Smart looks set for a big run today dropped right back in class from the Listed event lto when fourth. Shed maiden at Punchestown in December and makes course debut at Tramore today. Seems to have a big preference for going right handed so should take to this course and Darragh knows the track well which will help Sammy Smart get round well. Remains on a competitive mark and there is lots in this race who don’t really look to have a chance. Conditions are ideal for this ten year old today and with a top jockey aboard in Darragh, could be hard to peg back here. Likely winner.

Kalm Club Keep Calm & Gallop On Handicap Hurdle - Plumpton

Notnowlinda

J: Harry Skelton T: Dan Skelton
Race Winner
3/1

Reason for Tip

Out of sorts at the tail end of last year in Class 3 company and form wasn’t pretty reading. However, has turned a corner in cheekpieces and ran a very good race lto at Uttoxeter when a close third and looks set for a big run in a weak race today. Headgear retained, this is a very solid trip for this horse and does act on good ground. Might be a nine year old, but she’s a well handicapped one and represents a major yard with a fantastic jockey aboard in stable jockey Harry. Yard don’t have the sharpest record at this course, but they are very much in form currently and it won’t take Notnowlinda a great deal of encouragement to return to winning ways at Plumpton today. Great chance.

🍀 Lucky 15 Tips Today

Carlton

1.38 Huntingdon – 2/1
Trainer: James Owen
Jockey: Thomas Bellamy

Carlton is one of the most reliable runners in this field, arriving with form figures of 12321. A versatile six-year-old, he is effective on the Flat and over hurdles, and after two recent runs on the level he now returns to obstacles.

He has solid course form, including a second at Huntingdon over this trip back in October, and remains on what looks a very workable mark. In a race lacking depth, Carlton stands out as the classier option.

From the shrewd James Owen yard and with Thomas Bellamy booked, he looks highly likely to be involved and could prove tough to beat.

Kaid D’authie

2.00 Cheltenham – 13/2
Trainer: Willie Mullins
Jockey: Mark Walsh

The Brown Advisory looks competitive, but Kaid D’authie makes plenty of appeal at the prices.

He has taken to fences extremely well, recording two wins and a second in this discipline, and looks to possess the key attributes needed for a race of this nature — a strong engine and fluent jumping.

He did pull up over hurdles at Cheltenham twelve months ago, but he appears a much more polished and mature horse now. The trip is not fully proven, but on pedigree and what he has shown over fences, it looks well worth trying.

From the Willie Mullins yard, with Mark Walsh aboard after scoring at the Festival yesterday, Kaid D’authie looks a serious contender.

Colinski

5.30 Newcastle – 4/1
Trainer: R Menzies
Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

Colinski has not quite built on his handicap debut win at Lingfield last June, but he has not been disgraced in defeat and comes here after a break on a very workable mark.

He is capable of going well fresh and now makes both his all-weather debut and stable debut, which could easily spark improvement. The wide draw is not ideal, but in a 2-mile race there is plenty of time to settle into position.

This does not look a strong race, and with Callum Rodriguez aboard, Colinski looks one of the more likely winners if taking to the surface.

Rockin’ The Boat

6.45 Southwell – 11/4
Trainer: D Menuisier
Jockey: Billy Loughnane

Rockin’ The Boat may still be a maiden, but this is comfortably the easiest race she has contested and she looks dangerous on her all-weather debut.

She has run with plenty of credit in stronger Class 2 maidens and remains lightly raced, meaning there should still be more to come. Her handicap efforts last year suggested steady progression, and the drop into this level could make a major difference.

She has a decent draw in stall 6 and gets the services of Billy Loughnane, which is a major positive. If handling the surface and returning in good order after the break, she looks a big player.
