Slow start to this fillies career but she’s now found her feet and doesn’t look done yet. Completed a quickfire Lingfield double and now bids for hattrick here today. Has escaped a penalty for the win lto and therefore seems to remain very well treated in another arguably weak race. Has a plum draw out of stall one and represents a yard in very strong form currently. Billy Loughnane aboard is a positive booking and he knows how to win here. The hattrick looks likely for this three year old.

Ski Lodge has already shown solid hurdling ability, including a strong win in a 3-mile Haydock maiden hurdle. Returned from a long break last month and shaped extremely well in a Class 3 at Lingfield, finishing a credible second behind a smart favourite.

Today he switches to fences for the first time, and everything in his profile suggests he’ll take to chasing naturally — ideal trip, preferred ground and a stable with a strong record introducing chasers. Tom Bellamy rides Uttoxeter well and connections expect improvement now he’s fitter for his return run.

This eight year old hasn’t been since May 2024 and so has a very long break to contend with however he’s 2 wins from 2 runs at this track and was competing in higher grades than this on last few starts. Makes debut for a new yard and has the benefit of Oscar Palmer and his 7lb apprentice allowance today. Plum draw out of stall 2 and he is a very interesting contender today. If going well fresh off this mark in a relatively weak race he definitely has what’s needed to pick up another Wolverhampton win. Plenty of things to like ultimately and it’s likely going to come down to how well he goes fresh but at 14/1, he looks a nice outside chance in this.

It’s Maisy drops back in trip today to 2m3f — a sharper test than her usual staying trips around 3 miles. All her wins have come over longer distances, but she does run this track well, handles the ground and arrives on a very workable mark.

The yard has a 19% strike-rate at Uttoxeter in recent seasons and can be very shrewd when spotting opportunities. If the drop in trip ignites improvement, she’s a lively outsider in a race that isn’t overly strong.

Course form + favourable mark + trainer angle + potential improvement from trip change.

Sergeant Pep ran well very on seasonal debut at Haydock when third in a Class 3 and has been a little disappointing since. However, is on a very workable mark and looks primed for a big run off this mark in a race that’s weaker than any of his recent contests. Runs his usual trip and generally does ok on the AW so no negative there. It wouldn’t take much form to get the job done today and this five year old has a good chance of doing so with top jockey Rossa Ryan aboard. Likely winner today off this mark.

Form of 59309 doesn’t exactly inspire huge confidence, however this seven year is very well treated on old form and can be forgiven for needing the run on seasonal debut lto. Returns to fences today which is a positive, generally seems to prefer chasing to hurdling and both trip and ground are suited. This isn’t an overly tough assignment and with a clear round of jumping Dunnet Head should be bang there come the final furlongs. Decent jockey aboard who has a great strikerate this last fortnight and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this boy bounce back to form today.

Crossbeau had not been seen for over 500 days when returning to the track lto at Chepstow and he finished beautifully to take the win there. Likely to come on for that first run blowing the cobwebs off and is taken to defy 6lb rise. This race is arguably slightly easier than lto and looks set for another big run. Trip is slightly on the shorter side compared to any recent runs but should be fine regardless and is versatile to the ground. Top jockey aboard in Sean Bowen and this six year old has a very good chance at following up.

Gustav Graves and Wolverhampton are a fierce combination, this seven year old is a course specialist and loves it here and only really tends to run here now. Has not been out the top 2 in last three starts and was only denied the win by a short head lto last month. Remains on a competitive mark, knows the course very well and we will no doubt see another big run here. Joanna Mason gets the ride and we are likely to see Gustav at the back of the pack and coming over the top in the final furlong and would not be shocked to see this boy pick up his eighth win at this course.

Unbeaten in two chase starts and impressed lto at Kempton. The main question is the sharp drop to 2 miles today after consistently running around 3 miles. Unexposed at the trip and handles heavy ground. If coping with the speed test, he has a big chance at a price.

Completed a hat-trick earlier this year but handicapped out of things since. Now dropped to 1lb below his last winning mark, and this is the right time to strike. Likes Newcastle and Mulrennan returning is a major plus.

Second here two starts ago but stretched by the extended mile lto. Returns to a straight mile which suits far better. The race is not strong on paper and he looks well placed to go close.
