He returns to his preferred turf surface today on a fast track that should suit his running style, and the good to firm ground is expected to bring out his absolute best. With class-act jockey David Egan booked to ride and his handicap mark of 80 looking highly competitive, Melvin Udall has the raw talent to bounce back and mount a major bid at a big price.

Apprentice Mikkel Mortensen claims a valuable 5lb and boasts a 25% strike rate at Brighton. From a good draw and with this mark, he could easily outrun his odds.
