Reason for Tip

Three year old from the formidable O’Brien yard who has ran three times with form of 323. Open to much further progression on handicap debut and enters on a rather generous mark. Beautifully bred and upped in trip today which is not a negative, should handle it absolutely fine. Heavy ground is a question mark but relatives of Saratoga have handled it nicely and so shouldn’t be any issues. Most unexposed horse in the field and already has some of the nicer form available compared to some. Wayne Lordan aboard who is currently on a 42% fortnightly strikerate which is the same strikerate the O’Briens have at Listowel. Looks the winner and should be winning.

A well-bred three-year-old from the mighty O’Brien yard, Saratoga has shown promise with form of 323 from three starts. Makes handicap debut here off a very workable mark and is open to significant progression. Upped in trip, which should suit, and despite the heavy ground question mark, his pedigree suggests no issue. Wayne Lordan rides with a 42% strike-rate in the last fortnight, matching the O’Brien yard’s record at Listowel. This looks like the day Saratoga gets his win.

Reason for Tip

Three year old from the Hitchins yard who has had 16 runs in her career and as of yet hasn’t won a race. However, in defeat so far she has been consistent and regularly among the placings. Form reads 43343 and today looks a great opportunity to get that first win. Not the best draw but capable of getting out early on moving from midfield so can overcome that. Another considerable factor is Jack Nicholls riding, he takes off 5lb with his allowance and thats a lot considering she was placing so regularly off a mark of 63, now down to 60 for this run and has Jack taking off 5lb. Capable of winning this.

Still a maiden after 16 runs, but has been consistent in defeat, often hitting the frame (43343). Now races off a reduced mark of 60 and gets the added benefit of Jack Nicholls’ 5lb claim — meaning she is effectively well-in compared to her recent placed efforts. Needs a bit of luck from the draw, but if breaking cleanly and settling into midfield, she can finally break her duck at a nice double-figure price. Each-way value play.
