Reason for Tip

Dust Cover remains a little unexposed despite being a four year old and after a rough time in the summer, has really found his feet this winter at Southwell recording a win and very very close second in last two runs (both over C&D). Further progress looks highly likely and he has a decent draw today out of stall 3. Form from the race he was second in lto has been franked by a couple of horses and it looks to be a really solid piece of form which is a big positive heading into this today. Paddy Bradley aboard today and he enjoys regular success at this track boasting a 25% strikerate here in the last two years. He is also riding plenty of winners currently with a fortnightly strikerate of 28%. This four year old is going to take some stopping today, but not sure anything in the field will, looks set to win again.

Dust Cover looks the standout NAP of the Day at Southwell and arrives in cracking form. This four-year-old remains relatively unexposed and has really found his feet this winter, recording a win and an agonisingly close second on his last two starts — both over this exact course and distance.

The form of his latest run has already been franked, which is a major positive, and he now returns with further improvement looking highly likely. A good draw in stall 3 should allow him to sit in an ideal position, while Paddy Bradley takes the ride — a jockey who boasts an excellent strike rate at Southwell and is currently riding with plenty of confidence.

With conditions ideal and nothing obvious ahead of him on the figures, Dust Cover looks very hard to oppose and sets a strong benchmark for the card.

Reason for Tip

Twice raced filly from the Ryan stable who has been a slow starter thus far with form of 45. Rather nicely bred and closely related to a useful Listed winner and should be capable of much better. Some horses take a couple of runs and that’s the hope for Harmonised. Not an ideal draw in stall 8 but has an experienced jockey aboard who knows how to work this track to their advantage and it probably won’t take huge improvement to be heavily involved today. 11/1 looks a little overpriced and Harmonised can outrun those odds. Still very early days for this filly and this is a rather ordinary race where it would be no surprise to see her improve into place money or even better.

Harmonised makes plenty of appeal as today’s Dark Horse at a generous price. This twice-raced filly has shown little on the surface so far, but the pedigree suggests there is much more to come, being closely related to a Listed winner.

She has shaped better than the bare results imply and looks the type who may improve significantly with racing. This is a fairly ordinary contest, and it wouldn’t take a huge step forward for Harmonised to get involved.

The draw in stall 8 isn’t ideal, but with an experienced jockey aboard and a race lacking depth, she looks overpriced at double-figure odds.
