Small field handicap here in the 4.30 at Hereford and Jukebox D’eddy looks the one to beat. Three wins and two places in last five starts and has only gone up 2lb for the win last time out and still seems relatively well treated. Has ran at Hereford twice previously and whilst didn’t win either of those races, was more than credible and it wasn’t when he was in form like he is currently. From a yard in great form who have a strikerate at Hereford north of 40% in the last two years and is in very good hands today. Rian Corcoran aboard again and that’s a very strong booking, she’s probably the top apprentice at the moment and looks nailed on to be a star of the future. Will stay, will handle the ground and Jukebox D’eddy is going to be very hard to beat today, but not sure he will be.

This does not look a strong race, the ground is fine, and the yard is in cracking form. Everything points towards another bold showing.

NAP Verdict: Very hard to oppose – strong favourite.

Five year old who has been struggling off increased mark following dual wins last autumn and the form of 97450 has resulted in a noticeable drop at the weights and now looking too well handicapped to ignore. Back on a very workable mark, drops back to preferred 6f trip today and has a decent draw from stall 5 at a course he very much enjoys and has won at. Yard in a bit of a cold spell but they never last and Macarone looks a good chance to add a bit of success into a rather drab stable form book at the moment. Jockey switch to Marco Ghiani is a positive one, Marco is in great form and has won 30% of rides in the last fortnight. Race looks open for the taking and Macarone looks very capable of being heavily involved today off this mark.

At a huge price, Age Of Baroque is worth a second look. Absent since September, he returns following a wind operation, often a catalyst for sudden improvement.

Now effectively 3lb below his last winning mark with the apprentice claim applied, this five-year-old could easily outrun his odds if fully tuned up. Not without risks, but in a wide-open race, he makes plenty of appeal for place purposes at least.

Verdict: Big odds for a reason, but not without a chance.

Entitled to come on leaps and bounds for that first run and the drop in trip to 6f today is a positive on breeding and what we saw last time. Race full of unexposed three year olds and Zain Primus looks one who’s bound to come on a lot today. From a smaller yard who are in red hot form and that’s notable and has a fantastic booking in Oisin Murphy. Oisin has a brilliant record at Kempton and will get the most out of this youngster. Interesting race, but Zain Primus looks a likely contender.

Struggled on first two starts and yard reached for the hood which has brought improvement. Form the last twice is third and fifth and looks to be a on a very reasonable mark here with improvement still very likely. On pedigree this extra distance is a nailed on positive and likely to spur chances on further. Only ran once at this track and it was this youngsters best run to date so the return here is favourable and on drop in class today has to be taken seriously. From a shrewd and successful yard who have a good record here and a solid jockey booking in Daniel Muscutt. When Muscutt and Fanshawe have combined at Wolverhampton in the last two years they’ve won 23% of races. Big player.

Will stay this trip and ground conditions are nicely suited. Has shown ability over the obstacles so far and form reads 214. More unexposed than a lot of the opposition today and is therefore open to further progress. Represents a yard in fine form who have a good record here and a solid booking in Conor O’Farrell. Yard and jockey combine at this course well and have won 27% of races here. Religious Cross is taken to make a winning start to handicap debut and looks to have a very solid chance of doing so.

One of two for this stable in this race today and Reforme looks to have a very good chance today. Was consistent at the tail end of last year with form of 2142 and if going well fresh today after a 97 day break could be tough to peg back. Trip and ground are both favourable and remains on a very workable handicap mark. Has good form at this course including a win back in October and his yard are in very strong form at the moment and are no strangers to success at Fakenham with a 27% course strikerate. Jack Quinlan aboard for the ride and whilst he doesn’t have a course record to write home about, is riding well at the moment and finding plenty of winners. Good chance today for Reforme

Formerly on the Flat with Hugo Palmer, My Kinda Ghaiy has taken well to hurdling since switching yards. A strong second on debut was followed by a credible third at Wetherby last time out, and this four-year-old remains open to plenty of improvement.

The return to the same trip looks ideal, soft ground should suit, and the booking of Sean Bowen is a major positive. In a contestable race, further progress over the obstacles would see him go very close.

Verdict: Big chance with improvement likely.

Giantsgrave has yet to fully justify the promise of his bumper win, but his pedigree suggests there is more to come. The drop back to a sharp 2m could be the key, and this being his third run over hurdles, improvement is expected.

Heavy ground should not be an issue, and the Skelton team are rarely quiet at Newbury. With Harry Skelton aboard, this looks a strong opportunity.

Verdict: Expected to take a big step forward.

Unbeaten in three starts, Madame Luna arrives here seeking a four-timer after landing a warm mares’ novice at Doncaster. This opening handicap mark looks very fair, and she remains a filly with significant upside.

Paul O’Brien returns to the saddle and the yard-jockey combination boasts an excellent record at this track. Hard to fault on current evidence.

Verdict: Looks the standout in this field.
