Reason for Tip

Lovely bred youngster from the Johnston’s who ran a cracker on debut when going down a close second and followed that up with a win in fine style at Wolverhampton lto. Most unexposed horse in the race and remains open to plenty of further improvement. Decent draw in stall 4 today and quite frankly looks as if she is going to be very hard to beat today. Not much in this field looks to hold a candle to her flame on paper and Espanita should go on and win this rather ordinary looking Class 5 handicap for her handicap debut. Has an inform jockey aboard in Callum Shepherd and has the makings of a steering job. Expecting the price to shorten a little from where the 13/8 on offer at time of writing. Massive chance.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Lovely bred youngster from the Johnston yard who ran a cracker on debut when finishing a close second before going one better at Wolverhampton last time out, winning in fine style. She looks the most unexposed horse in this race and remains open to plenty of improvement.

She has a decent draw in stall 4 today and quite frankly not much in this field looks capable of matching her on paper. This looks like a very good opportunity for Espanita to follow up on handicap debut. Callum Shepherd is in great form and this looks a strong booking.

Everything points towards a big run here and the price may shorten before the off.

Reason for Tip

Tough to follow this old timer these days as his form can be wildly inconsistent. Last five results are P114P. Potentially just too far lto when going 2m7f and drops back to calmer waters of 2m5f today. Won at this course over a furlong shorter in April last year and that was after being pulled up the time before so more than capable of a big bounce back and that may be the case today on return to a course he enjoys. Ground is fine and the field doesn’t look overly warm and The Jad Factor is looking rather well handicapped at the moment. Yard absolutely flying with a 43% strikerate in the last month and a very solid booking in Patrick Wadge only furthers the positives here today. Big run on the cards at a nice price, hopefully pulls it off.

🎯 Dark Horse

The Jad Factor can be difficult to predict, but he is more than capable on his day and looks well handicapped at present. His last five runs read P114P, which sums up his inconsistency, but there are reasons to believe he could bounce back today.

He may have found the 2m7f trip too far last time out and now drops back to 2m5f, which looks much more suitable. He has course form, having won here last year, and the ground conditions are fine.

The yard are flying at the moment with a 43% strike rate in the last month, and with Patrick Wadge booked, there are plenty of positives. In a race that doesn’t look overly strong, he could easily outrun his odds.

Reason for Tip

Five year old who’s been a little regressive in first four hurdling starts with form of 1334. Won on debut at this track but failed ot act on handicap debut at Newbury lto. However, nicely bred youngster who’s capable of much better and can be forgiven for a poor run. This race doesn’t look overly warm and the return to this track could spark a return to form. Both trip and ground are absolutely fine and represents a yard with a good record at this track. Derek Fox aboard for the ride is a strong booking and he’s a fantastic strikerate at this course for this yard and Smoke Trail remains open to plenty of further progress still. Big player.

Reason for Tip

Six year old Supreme George completed a hattrick in Dec/Jan and despite the increased weight has still been running to very good effect on last two starts with a third at Sedgefield and then a second lto at Ludlow. Seems to still be on a reasonable mark and further progress is certainly not discounted. Runs usual trip here of 2 miles on a sound surface and has to be taken seriously considering the form he’s in. Very consistent over the obstacles and will no doubt be involved again in the closing stages. Yard in decent form and no strangers to Chepstow success. Charlie Maggs aboard today and his 3lb claim could be a difference maker. Good chance.

Pretty weak race here and one who looks set to take advantage is five year old So You Know from the Bailey & Nicholls stable. Has made a strong start to career after a disappointing debut and form since reads 122. Wasn’t far away when second lto at Warwick. Most unexposed horse in the field and with only one run in handicaps so far, looks to still be on a rather lenient mark and looks set for a big run here. Good jockey aboard in Thomas Bellamy and yard are enjoying a decent spell. Race looks his for the taking on increased trip and looks a very likely winner.

Reason for Tip

Solid form in last couple of months with two wins and a second place including a win here at Southwell. Nearly completed hattrick lto when pipped by Little Mi Mi and the pair head the market today in somewhat of a rematch. 5lb better off against that rival today and looks set to reverse those placings from a great draw in stall 2. Progress unlikely to be halted today and a return to winning ways very much on the cards. Connor Whiteley retains the ride from last time and he knows this horse well. For a small yard, the Hanlons have a solid course record and everything is looking very positive for Fortunate Star’s chances today. Likely winner.

Smoke Trail returns to Kelso where he won on debut and can be forgiven for a poor run last time out at Newbury on handicap debut. This race looks weaker and a return to this track could spark improvement.

Supreme George has been very consistent over hurdles and completed a hat-trick earlier in the season. He has continued to run well despite higher weights and should be competitive again here.

So You Know looks one of the most unexposed runners in the race and has form figures of 122 since a disappointing debut. This looks a very good opportunity to get his head in front.

Fortunate Star has been in excellent form with two wins and a second recently and was unlucky not to complete a hat-trick last time out. He is now 5lb better off with the horse that beat him and looks set to reverse the form.
