Reason for Tip

Interesting little race here in the 12.10 with a lot of unexposed youngsters and one who really caught the eye lto was Lazare De Star. Second in a point to point and then bought for just under 200k Euro and now resides with the Elliots. First rules race was earlier this month and was second to the talented Saint Baco and both of them were comfortably clear of the field at the line. Shaped with lots of promise in that race and with lots of further progression very likely, looks very dangerous here today in this race. Represents a top yard with a scintillating record here and stable jockey Jack Kennedy aboard. Yard going very nicely and quite frankly, if Lazare De Star even improves a shade, he is capable of taking this with some east. Likely winner.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Lazare De Star – 12.10 Leopardstown (6/5)

This looks a fascinating contest featuring several unexposed types, but Lazare De Star was the one who really caught the eye last time out. Second in a point-to-point before being snapped up for just under €200,000, he made his rules debut earlier this month when finishing second to the talented Saint Baco.

Both horses pulled well clear of the remainder, and Lazare De Star shaped with plenty of promise throughout. That run suggests significant improvement is still to come, and with normal progression he sets a strong standard here.

He represents a powerful Gordon Elliott yard with an excellent record at Leopardstown, and stable jockey Jack Kennedy takes the ride. With conditions to suit and further progress expected, Lazare De Star looks a very strong NAP and a likely winner.

Reason for Tip

Three year old youngster from the Evans yard who got up to win two starts ago at Wolverhampton after a streak of near misses. Bit of a flop lto when sixth here at Southwell but that was over a further distance than usual and it clearly didn’t suit. Drops back to his usual 1m4f today which is a big positive, proven at that distance, won two starts ago over that distance and I don’t think we’ve seen the last of this boys good runs. Has a good draw here, Pat Cosgrave gets the ride and yard are ticking along nicely. Does have a little to prove against some of these hence the price but if repeating his form from the win at Wolverhampton in October, has a great chance today.

Top Of Pleinmont is a three-year-old who showed his ability when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton two starts ago after a series of near misses. His latest run at Southwell was disappointing, but that came over a longer trip than ideal, which clearly didn’t suit.

He drops back to his preferred 1m4f today — the same distance as his Wolverhampton win — which looks a major positive. He has a good draw, Pat Cosgrave is booked, and the yard continues to tick along nicely.

While he does have something to prove against a few rivals, his price reflects that. If reproducing his Wolverhampton form, Top Of Pleinmont could easily outrun his odds and looks a solid each-way Dark Horse.

Largely consistent eight year old with form of 11232 and even if losing, generally runs a very solid race and will give his all. The second lto at Sedgefield was a good performance and actually drops back a class today and looks t be on a very workable mark today in this company. Yard are enjoying a good spell and turning out regular winners, and Couldbeaweapon is taken to further those good results. Tom Midgley and his 3lb apprentice allowance are aboard and both trip and ground are suited today. Proven winner at this distance as recently as October and looks a major player here in this Class 5.

Useful hurdler for the Bromhead yard who was sent chasing for the first time on seasonal debut in October at Down Royal. Was second that day, and second again on subsequent chase start lto at Punchestown. Remains very unexposed in this discipline and is open to plenty of further progress over fences. Represents a powerful stable with a great record here and the slight drop back to 2m5f looks a positive move today for Koktail Divin. Top jockey aboard in Darragh O’Keeffe and there is a lot to like about his chances today. Mullins horse heads the market at time of writing, but Koktail Divin looks a little more reliable and has proven himself thus far this year.

Youngster from the Murphy yard who snagged the win in a relatively weak maiden at Fakenham in March and has been in place money since on two starts this term. However, clearly needed the run and has been progressive lto when finishing second in a Class 4. Drops back a grade today and remains on a very tempting mark at a track he has good form at. Ground is ideal, likes a little give in it and will get that today. Yard in great form and the ever strong Sean Bowen aboard for the ride. When Bowen and Murphy combine at this track, they enjoy lots of success and Dinofromberlais is taken to be another for that tally.

True Promise has been in good form in defeat and has been serially knocking on the door this term. Form of 2223 since September and will remain competitive again today im sure. Remains on a very workable mark and the return to this track is a positive, has good form here and goes back over 6f again today which is arguably his preferred distance. Has a good draw today and Oisin McSweeney is back aboard which is a strong booking. Relatively weak assignment today and cases can be made against a lot of this field. True Promise looks primed for this and a return to the winners enclosure looks likely.

A very consistent eight-year-old with form figures of 11232, Couldbeaweapon rarely runs a bad race and always gives his running. His second at Sedgefield last time was a solid effort and he drops back in class here, which looks significant.

He remains on a workable mark in this Class 5, the yard are in good form, and Tom Midgley’s 3lb claim is another positive. Proven over the trip and with ground conditions to suit, he looks a major player.

Koktail Divin – 1.20 Leopardstown (11/4)

Trainer: Henry De Bromhead
Jockey: Darragh O’Keeffe

Koktail Divin has taken well to fences this season, finishing second on both chasing starts so far at Down Royal and Punchestown. He remains very unexposed in this discipline and looks open to plenty more improvement.

The slight drop back to 2m5f should suit, and he represents a stable with a strong record at Leopardstown. While a Mullins runner heads the market, Koktail Divin looks the more reliable option based on what we’ve seen this season and rates a strong contender.

Dinofromberlais – 2.22 Leicester (9/2)

Trainer: Olly Murphy
Jockey: Sean Bowen

Dinofromberlais won a maiden at Fakenham earlier in the year and has shown steady improvement since returning this term. He ran well when second in a Class 4 last time out and now drops back in grade, which looks ideal.

He remains on a tempting mark, has good form at Leicester, and conditions should suit with some cut in the ground. The Murphy–Bowen combination does very well here, and another bold run is expected.

True Promise – 3.20 Southwell (11/4)

Trainer: Fionn McSharry
Jockey: Oisin McSweeney

True Promise has been knocking firmly on the door this season, with form figures of 2223 since September. He remains well treated and the return to Southwell is a plus, having run well here previously.

Back over 6f, which looks his ideal trip, he also has a good draw and Oisin McSweeney back in the saddle. In what appears a fairly weak race, this looks a great opportunity for True Promise to finally get his head in front.
