Talented youngster from the Channon yard who had a good year last year including two wins and a second place here at Kempton. Has looked progressive and better for each run really and more of that is likely today too. Returns after 4 months off and now a four year old and looks absolutely the one to beat in this race today. Well drawn from stall 1 and likely to dictate from the front, if given an easy lead is going to be incredibly tough to peg back. Likes this course, yard are ticking nicely and has a top booking in Tom Marquand who has a fantastic record aboard Channon trained horses. Sarab Star looks the likely winner, not sure anything in this field will better him.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Lazare De Star – 12.10 Leopardstown (6/5)

This looks a fascinating contest featuring several unexposed types, but Lazare De Star was the one who really caught the eye last time out. Second in a point-to-point before being snapped up for just under €200,000, he made his rules debut earlier this month when finishing second to the talented Saint Baco.

Both horses pulled well clear of the remainder, and Lazare De Star shaped with plenty of promise throughout. That run suggests significant improvement is still to come, and with normal progression he sets a strong standard here.

He represents a powerful Gordon Elliott yard with an excellent record at Leopardstown, and stable jockey Jack Kennedy takes the ride. With conditions to suit and further progress expected, Lazare De Star looks a very strong NAP and a likely winner.

Reason for Tip

Oldest horse in the field by a fair way is Ballywood at 12 years old. Hasn’t won in seven years but has gone close on a number of occasions including lto and is very well handicapped. Drop in trip today looks a big positive for a horse who’s ran good races lately but tailed off towards the end. Generally runs well at this track and the good ground is favourable for Ballywood. Sometimes in a weak race like the exposed can make a comeback and it’s hard to ignore the mark this 12 year old is now on. Will need the drop in trip to spark for win purposes but should run his race and at 14/1 is more than capable of contesting and does have a change today in the retained blinkers from last time over a trip that should suit. Interesting.

Top Of Pleinmont is a three-year-old who showed his ability when getting off the mark at Wolverhampton two starts ago after a series of near misses. His latest run at Southwell was disappointing, but that came over a longer trip than ideal, which clearly didn’t suit.

He drops back to his preferred 1m4f today — the same distance as his Wolverhampton win — which looks a major positive. He has a good draw, Pat Cosgrave is booked, and the yard continues to tick along nicely.

While he does have something to prove against a few rivals, his price reflects that. If reproducing his Wolverhampton form, Top Of Pleinmont could easily outrun his odds and looks a solid each-way Dark Horse.

Pretty weak looking handicap here in the first at Hereford and despite now being on a career high mark following the win lto, Kingcormac looks the play to be making. Won in very nice style last time and generally runs very well at this course too, including a win back in December here. Trip is within usual firing range and ground is suited, largely reliable type who will make the running, particularly at Hereford. Yard are a small one, but a shrewd one and have been strong lately with a 40% strikerate in the last 30 days and of their three runners in the last couple weeks, two have won. Taylor Fisher retains the ride and Taylor also enjoying regular success at the moment with a 60% strikerate in the last month. Kingcormac is the one to beat.

Small field here in the 3.15 and one who looks capable of a big run at a nice looking price is five year old Kittys Glance. Has been disappointing so far really with form of 380 but has contested a Listed event at Cheltenham and so this company today is much calmer waters. Has been off since December and was both hanging left and jumping freely lto here at Huntingdon. Has had a wind op during the break and should help this youngster along with the fitment of a first time hood which should help her settle and focus. Represents a good yard in strong form and has a solid booking in Tom Bellamy. When combining, yard and jockey enjoy regular success. Kittys Glance is a nicely bred horse who’s definitely better than what we’ve seen, chance is taken on the wind op and hood revealing her true colours and could be heavily involved here.

Pretty wide open affair here in the 4.30 and one who looks a very nice proposition today is six year old Vol Royale from the Woollacott yard. Completed a hurdle double two starts ago both here at Hereford before contesting a warm class 3 on handicap debut lto at Chepstow. Didn’t perform great upped in class that day but looks pretty well treated on this step down in grade back into Class 4 company. Goes up in trip by 3f which on pedigree looks fine and potentially even a positive and loves both the ground and track. Lots to like today for a horse from a small but successful yard and Vol Royale has the services of a very good jockey in Harry Cobden. In the last 2 years, when Harry has ridden Woollacott trained horses at Hereford, won 75% of races which is a very favourable statistic. Big chance today for this youngster to return to winning form.

Five year old Serenity Dream can be a little inconsistent as a whole picture but he loves it here at this track. Two wins from three starts at the track and looks nailed on for another big run today. Wasn’t far away lto over C&D when second and remains on a very workable mark. Not the worst draw from stall 6 and this boy is pretty versatile to running position, won at this track from stall 5 previously. Race doesn’t look overly warm and has a decent jockey change today to Rossa Ryan. Rossa has a decent record for this yard and is no stranger to success at this course. Major player.

🍀 Lucky 15 Tips Today

Couldbeaweapon – 12.18 Catterick

A very consistent eight-year-old with form figures of 11232, Couldbeaweapon rarely runs a bad race and always gives his running. His second at Sedgefield last time was a solid effort and he drops back in class here, which looks significant.

He remains on a workable mark in this Class 5, the yard are in good form, and Tom Midgley’s 3lb claim is another positive. Proven over the trip and with ground conditions to suit, he looks a major player.

Koktail Divin – 1.20 Leopardstown (11/4)

Trainer: Henry De Bromhead
Jockey: Darragh O’Keeffe

Koktail Divin has taken well to fences this season, finishing second on both chasing starts so far at Down Royal and Punchestown. He remains very unexposed in this discipline and looks open to plenty more improvement.

The slight drop back to 2m5f should suit, and he represents a stable with a strong record at Leopardstown. While a Mullins runner heads the market, Koktail Divin looks the more reliable option based on what we’ve seen this season and rates a strong contender.

Dinofromberlais – 2.22 Leicester (9/2)

Trainer: Olly Murphy
Jockey: Sean Bowen

Dinofromberlais won a maiden at Fakenham earlier in the year and has shown steady improvement since returning this term. He ran well when second in a Class 4 last time out and now drops back in grade, which looks ideal.

He remains on a tempting mark, has good form at Leicester, and conditions should suit with some cut in the ground. The Murphy–Bowen combination does very well here, and another bold run is expected.

True Promise – 3.20 Southwell (11/4)

True Promise has been knocking firmly on the door this season, with form figures of 2223 since September. He remains well treated and the return to Southwell is a plus, having run well here previously.

Back over 6f, which looks his ideal trip, he also has a good draw and Oisin McSweeney back in the saddle. In what appears a fairly weak race, this looks a great opportunity for True Promise to finally get his head in front.
