That race has worked out well since, with several runners performing strongly in subsequent outings, suggesting the form is solid. Today’s race represents a slightly weaker assignment, and with further improvement expected from this unexposed type, he looks a major contender.

The two-mile trip and good ground conditions should suit perfectly, and with the in-form Thomas Bellamy booked to ride for the thriving Alan King yard, Sixtys Rock could prove very hard to beat.

Adonedeal – 3:20 Stratford (13/2)

Lightly raced six-year-old Adonedeal made an excellent start to life under rules with back-to-back wins at Southwell and Plumpton over the minimum trip.

He was then thrown into deeper waters when contesting a Grade 2 novice race at Cheltenham, where both the stronger company and extended trip appeared to stretch him slightly.
