Reason for Tip

Four runner field in the 4.30 here at Wincanton and Queens Gamble might be top weight and conceding all round but it’s for good reason. Remains pretty unexposed over fences and has contested much deeper races than this previously including two listed events and one of them was a win at this track back in February when Queen’s Gamble left short odds on favourite Bluey in the dust. Close second behind a massive improver lto at Doncaster in a class 2 and looks a very strong prospect today on drop back down in class. Trip and ground are ok and this eight year old is a very strong and reliable jumper who looks set to win this race under a solid ride from Paul O’Brien. Likely winner.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Kap Vert – 3:40 Taunton (7/4)

Our NAP of the Day is Kap Vert, who has taken very well to chasing since switching discipline earlier this season.

He won his first chase at Taunton and followed that with solid efforts in stronger races at Kempton and Ascot, finishing third and fourth respectively.

The form from that Ascot race has worked out extremely well, with multiple runners winning since, suggesting Kap Vert has been competing in far stronger company than he faces today.

He drops slightly in trip back to the distance he won over previously at Taunton, and the ground conditions should be ideal. With Sean Houlihan retaining the ride for the Hobbs & White partnership, Kap Vert looks the standout contender and the one to beat.

Reason for Tip

Wide open race here in the 4.20 and one who looks a bit of a dark horse is Golden Millie from the Horsford stable. Has been a little out of sorts of late but has a couple of things today that may spark a revival. Returns to Ffos Las for the first time since debut run at this course when when Golden Millie won and also goes chasing for the first time today. The fences may bring with them some form. Trip and ground should be suited and has a very decent booking in Charlie Deutsch. This isn’t a strong race and it won’t taken this eight year old a huge return to form to be featuring and challenging. Outside chance, but a chance nonetheless.

🎯 Dark Horse

Spirit Lead Me – 7:00 Wolverhampton (16/1)

For those looking for a value outsider, Spirit Lead Me could be worth considering at double-figure odds.

The Richard Hughes-trained runner enjoyed a productive spell last season when landing a quick double in Class 6 company. While a subsequent rise in the handicap made life more difficult, his mark has now gradually dropped back to a far more competitive level.

Recent performances have hinted that he is returning to form, and today’s race looks far more open and winnable than some of the contests he has been competing in.

With Finley Marsh aboard and a decent course record when the jockey and yard combine, Spirit Lead Me could easily outperform his odds and sneak into the places at a big price.

Pretty open affair here in the opener at Ffos Las and a horse who’s been consistently strong when last seen is Yanka Blue from the Murphys yard. Knocked on the door the last twice with a pair of second place finishes and remains on a very workable mark. Has not been seen since December and makes stable debut today. has gone well fresh previously so no great concern there and trip and ground look well suited. Solid booking in Tom Cannon and this race won’t take a great deal of winning and Yanka Blue is set to do just that.

Reason for Tip

Largely consistent type over the last 9 months or so and whilst hasn’t won in that time has posted some strong efforts and form reads 4234. This trip is shorter than perhaps ideal but the good ground is perfect and should help counteract the trip. Will need a strong ride over this trip but has a great jockey aboard in Tom Bellamy who knows how to get the job done. Remains on a very workable mark and this is a weak race. Yard have a very good record at this track and Tom is a jockey in very good form. Plenty of positives today and looks a likely winner.

Three year old Blues and Royals has been highly progressive in first four starts with form of 8731. Only raised 3lb for the win lto and whilst it wasn’t by a huge margin, there was fuel left in the tank and theres more to come from this youngster. Mark looks defiable and returns to turf today. Has the plum draw on the rail from stall 1 and has a top jockey aboard in Hector Crouch. Hector hasn’t ridden here a great deal in the last couple of years, but does boast a 25% course strikerate in that time period. Yard going nicely and Blues and Royals frankly looks the one to beat today.

Reason for Tip

Low mileage four year old who bids for hattrick here today after picking up wins at Nottingham and over C&D here when last seen back in November. Forecasted ground is good for this which is a big positive for this boy off this mark and he’s looked a very tough nut to crack when given an easy time out front. Likely to see similar tactics from a quick start out of stall 1 and the only real question today is freshness. Yard have a good record with horses returning from breaks so that’s a positive and has a very good jockey aboard in Callum Rodriguez who’s riding very well at the moment. Callum has a near 30% strikerate at this track and generally does very well for the Bethell yard. Hattrick looks very much on the cards.

🍀 Lucky 15 Tips Today

Sixtys Rock – 2:10 Taunton (4/1)

Four-year-old Sixtys Rock looks a very interesting runner here after showing clear progression in his first two starts over hurdles. After finishing fifth on debut at Wincanton, he stepped forward significantly when finishing a strong third in a Class 3 contest at Newbury last time out.

That race has worked out well since, with several runners performing strongly in subsequent outings, suggesting the form is solid. Today’s race represents a slightly weaker assignment, and with further improvement expected from this unexposed type, he looks a major contender.

The two-mile trip and good ground conditions should suit perfectly, and with the in-form Thomas Bellamy booked to ride for the thriving Alan King yard, Sixtys Rock could prove very hard to beat.

Adonedeal – 3:20 Stratford (13/2)

Lightly raced six-year-old Adonedeal made an excellent start to life under rules with back-to-back wins at Southwell and Plumpton over the minimum trip.

He was then thrown into deeper waters when contesting a Grade 2 novice race at Cheltenham, where both the stronger company and extended trip appeared to stretch him slightly.

Dropping back into Class 3 company over two miles looks far more suitable, and the return to a more manageable race could see him bounce straight back to form. Representing the powerful Olly Murphy yard with champion jockey Sean Bowen in the saddle, Adonedeal looks capable of a big run at attractive odds.

Lasko Des Obeaux – 4:30 Plumpton (13/8)

The Harry Derham-trained Lasko Des Obeaux stands out in what looks a fairly modest contest at Plumpton.

With form figures of 233, he has consistently performed well in maiden company and now makes his handicap debut from what looks a workable opening mark.

He steps up slightly in trip today, which should suit based on pedigree, and the expected ground conditions are unlikely to pose any problems.

Derham and Paul O’Brien have an excellent record at this venue, and with Lasko Des Obeaux still relatively unexposed, this looks an ideal opportunity for him to take a significant step forward.

Church Wedding – 6:00 Wolverhampton (7/2)

Three-year-old filly Church Wedding represents the respected Ralph Beckett stable and looks a fascinating contender after an encouraging debut performance.

She finished third of thirteen at Kempton, beaten just two lengths, and showed plenty of promise despite clear signs of inexperience. Horses from this yard often improve significantly on their second start, which could make her very dangerous here.

She is well drawn in stall 3, the slight step up in trip looks a positive, and top jockey Rossa Ryan – currently riding in superb form – takes the ride.

With natural improvement expected, Church Wedding could be ready to strike.
