Reason for Tip

Talented three year old with four career runs so far, form of 1204. The 12th at Ascot was in a Group 3 and so can be forgiven for finding that tough, because it was but showed his ability when finished fourth in Listed event at Goodwood last time out and this is calmer waters today. Remains very unexposed and open to further progress and looks to set the standard here in this. Has a good draw out of stall two and represents a major yard with a very good record here at Kempton in Class 1 events. Hight Stock goes a bit further than he’s gone with an extra couple of furlongs in this but should stay the extra no problem and is related to a polytrack winner so the switch to that isn’t of concern. Looks the winner.

Drawn well in Stall 2 and bred to enjoy the polytrack, he should see out the extra distance comfortably and has a top-tier yard behind him with terrific Kempton stats.

Reason for Tip

Pretty open race here in the 7.15 at Southwell and with the bookies paying 4 places, it’s a good spot to find some value and a bit of a dark horse. One that stands out is four year old Si Solus from the Kelleway yard who is very low mileage still and remains open to much more progress than most of this lot. Had been progressive and consistent on first three starts over 1m3/4f with form of 223. Looked a little less comfortable when upped to 2m lto at Newcastle but still finished fourth that day. Drops back into middle distances today and that is a big positive, particularly at a course he has ran well at on multiple occasions in his short career. Experienced jockey aboard in David Allan and he has a strong record at Southwell. Lots to like and very capable of outrunning this nice price and not discounted for win purposes either.

Three year old who is largely consistent from what we’ve seen on turf so far. Form of 31532 with the majority being in Class 2 handicap races similar to this. First time on the AW today which obviously asks questions, but yard have a good record here and actually won this race last year with a three year old. Lots to like for Back In Black today, well handicapped, should go well on the AW and has a plum draw from stall 1. Yard ticking along very nicely and talented jockey aboard in Daniel Muscutt. Major player.

Six year old Jorebel has looked a force to be reckoned since returning from a break. Completed hattrick on return from that break and still looks capable of more. This trip is slightly on the shorter side for Jorebel but is still within striking distance. Ground forecasted to be good which is ideal and Jorebel has ran well here previously. This looks on paper to be quite a weak race and if this boy can run close to his previous or better he will take some major stopping. Freddie Gordon retains the ride. Big chance.

Top weight Oman has struggled to find the podium this year since winning very easily at Yarmouth last year and mark being raised. As a result of the lesser performances this year, the mark has been eased and is pretty well handicapped here now. We’ve seen promise recently with a 2nd lto at Wolverhampton and drops back in grade today into a Class 6 which makes Oman a big threat in this. Well drawn, yard have a respectable record here and despite being topweight, looks very capable of making the frame today.

Four year old who hasn’t won since 2023 and has never ran on the AW. However, he was gelded back in the middle of the year and on the three starts since the form reads 232 in quite warm races. Drops back in grade here and looks very threatening off this mark. Has a plum draw out of stall 2 and has a top jockey aboard in Billy Loughnane who has a strong record here at this track. Zoulu Chief looks quite frankly much better than most of this lot and it’s not a strong race. Zoulu looks the likely victor.
