Thrice raced youngster from the De Foy yard who has been progressive on all three starts with form of 432. Only four runners in this Class 5 today and this three year old looks the one to beat. Has beaten the next in the betting when running at Kempton two starts ago and looks more progressive than that horse (Cosmo Goodspeed). Good booking in David Egan and we are likely to see further improvement on course debut at Brighton today. Should be a relatively straightforward affair with Fierce Fortitude and Cosmo Goodspeed battling it out but the former is the likely the winner and the NAP selection for today.

With David Egan booked and ideal conditions, this should be a relatively straightforward assignment. The NAP and most likely winner on the card.

Relatively open race this which lends itself to one of the bigger prices sneaking in and one that looks promising is old timer, 11 year old Delagate This Lord. Has won 9 times over the long career and has ran well this year too with a 4th on seasonal debut and then a third lto at Salisbury. Makes debut for a new yard today which can be successful and a chance is taken that it will be here today too. Delagate This Lord is versatile, mostly consistent and should make al the running. Is drawn well and has a good booking in S A Gray. Has a chance to return to winning ways today and should outrun the current odds of 9/1 into the places at the very least.

Relatively consistent six year old who knows how to get the job done, has done so on five occasions including lto at Thirsk. Back up in trip today but that’s not a negative, has won at this distance previously and ran over it on numerous occasions. Slight rise for that win, but only 3lb and not discounted at all. This isn’t an overly challenging Class 5 and Ey Up Its Jazz will be a major player. D Nolan aboard who has a credible record here.

Not the most reliable at times this year but that’s because Antiphone has struggled off the higher marks. Mark has dropped now and is very well handicapped on best form. We saw a flash of that lto when second here over C&D. A win is round the corner off the reduced mark and this looks a good a chance as any. Well drawn, yard in decent form and has the benefit of Jack Dace’s 3lb apprentice allowance. Major player and a win would not be a surprise.

Seven year old who is enjoying a very fine season with three wins in his last 6. He continues to defy the handicappers attempts to curtail success and won in good style again lto at Sailsbury. Up another 6lb but i’m not sure that’s enough to stop Darvel, and he is a major player here despite the rise. Well drawn, has a good record at this course and despite being top weight looks a likely winner. Charles Bishop aboard and he is riding well, ground is ideal and we should see a front running race with lots of speed which Darvel will enjoy.

Three year old who has blown somewhat hot and cold this year and the form reflects that as it reads 81513. Has ran well on the all weather previously and Southwell is a track that lends itself to this type of horse. Ran well in defeat lto at Chester and this is a drop back in Class today in a weaker race. Remains well handicapped and represents a powerful yard in good form. Oisin Murphy gets the ride and he is in blistering form with a great strikerate currently and here historically. Big chance.

Enjoying a fine season with 3 wins in last 6 runs. Up 6lb again but continues to defy the handicapper. Loves Brighton and looks the likely winner again.

Ziggy’s Triton – 7.00 Southwell (7/1)
A touch in-and-out this season but drops in class here and gets Oisin Murphy in the saddle. On a workable mark and has the talent to get involved.
