Reason for Tip

Six year old with form of 43612 and of the three hurdle races contested, has looked more fluid each time. Remains over the 2 mile trip at the same course as the close second lto and the experience at this course will stand Next Twist in good stead for this. Looks to be between the selection and the Crawford horse but question marks over the consistency of the other one and so Next Twist is taken to get the job done instead. From the ever strong and in form Olly Murphy stable and has one of the best in the business aboard in Sean Bowen. Both yard and jockey have good records here and when combining at this track, have won more than a third of all starts. Next Twist is in good hands and looks the winner in waiting.

Next Twist looks a winner in waiting and is taken as today’s NAP of the Day. The six-year-old has form figures of 43612 and has improved with every hurdle run so far this season.

A close second at this course last time out reads very well, and returning to the same 2-mile trip at Ayr should suit perfectly given the experience already gained around the track. Of the main dangers, there are consistency concerns elsewhere, making Next Twist the more reliable option.

The Murphy–Bowen combination is a big positive, with both trainer and jockey boasting excellent strike-rates at Ayr. When teaming up here, they have won over one-third of their runners, which adds further confidence.

Everything points towards a big run — and potentially a deserved victory.

Four year old My Mate Beattie doesn’t have a record worth screaming about at 0-20, but has gone close on a number of occasions when she was with the Dunlop yard and should be contesting this kind of race. Two starts for new yard have been a 12th and a 6th and so does need to bounce back. Mark has now dropped to 48 which puts this youngster in the nicely handicapped bracket and from a plum draw in stall 2, can make her presence known today. This is not a strong race and despite her previous performances, represents a yard winning plenty of races at the moment and has a good jockey aboard in Kieran who is running at a 31% strikerate in the last couple of weeks. Big odds, but capable of featuring and if given an uncontested lead, may be tough to catch.

At a big price, My Mate Beattie is today’s Dark Horse and makes plenty of appeal at 16/1.

While the four-year-old is still searching for her first career win, she has gone close on several occasions in the past and is now running off a career-low mark of 48, which puts her firmly into the nicely-handicapped bracket.

A plum draw in stall 2 gives her every chance to be prominent, and if allowed an uncontested lead in what looks a weak race, she could prove difficult to peg back. The yard is in excellent form and Kieran O’Neill has been riding with confidence, operating at a 31% strike-rate over the past fortnight.

She needs things to fall right — but at the odds, she’s more than capable of outrunning her price.

Reason for Tip

Reasonable hurdler who made chase debut back in November and finished a close third. Has failed to build on that promise in next two starts with a fourth at Wetherby and then an eighth here lto. However, has shown ability and mark has dropped around 5lb in last couple of races and so looks pretty well treated today in what is a very ordinary looking race. Does need to bounce back, and will hopefully settle a bit better today. Runs the same trip as last two starts over 3 miles and she will stay the distance. Derek Fox back aboard after an absence is a big plus, he’s a man in fine form at the moment and historically does well at this course. This is a weak race and if Visual Impact is going to win one soon, this looks a good chance to do so.

Seven year old Sanitiser had some useful flat and hurdles form and has looked to build on that since switching to fences. Progressive at the figures in all three starts and chase form now reads 443 and this boy is entitled to take another big step forward today. Will be fine on the soft ground and the trip is his usual. Yard enjoying a good season and no strangers to Plumpton victory. Freddie Mitchell aboard is a strong booking, talented apprentice with a 3lb claim and that puts Sanitiser right into the picture. Won’t take a huge deal of improvement to be challenging here today and at 9/2, is a nice price with a real chance of getting the job done.

Reason for Tip

Inconsistent at times and the form since November shines a light on that with it being P84U43. However, they were over fences and he looked to have bounced back lto over C&D when switched back to hurdles despite having some trouble in running in the final run in. Won this race last year on heavy ground and The Jeweller’s Pet will be fine on the forecast soft ground but if the rains come overnight, will be even more well suited. Looks to be on a very workable mark still and has a decent jockey in Callum Bewley which is an upgrade from previous runs. Big chance.

Switched yards at the back end of last year and after a few months break made stable debut for the Owens at Kempton in January. Close second that day and was again denied into second lto. Clearly capable of contesting these races and today looks no different. Has a plum draw from stall 1 and the trip is her usual mile. Big positive today is the jockey change, in form apprentice Ashley Lewis gets the ride and has a 5lb apprentice allowance to come off which makes Summer Heat very well treated indeed. Hard to ignore the positives today for this horse who represents a yard in fantastic form and who enjoy regular success at this course. Couple of more unexposed types ahead of her in the betting at the moment, but everything is pointing towards a big run from this 4 year old and would not be a surprise winner.

Progressive since switching to fences, with chase form figures of 443. Looks entitled to improve again and won’t mind the soft ground. The 3lb claim from Freddie Mitchell is valuable and the Moore yard continue to enjoy a strong season. Nicely priced with plenty going for him.

3️⃣ The Jeweller’s Pet – 4.00 Ayr (7/1)

A course-and-distance winner who landed this very race last year on heavy ground. Conditions look ideal once more, and he remains on a workable mark. Back over hurdles after a promising return last time, with Callum Bewley an upgrade in the saddle. Big chance of going very close.

4️⃣ Summer Heat – 5.30 Wolverhampton (9/2)

Has settled well into her new yard and has finished second on both starts this year. Drawn perfectly in stall 1, and the 5lb apprentice allowance from Ashley Lewis makes her look extremely well treated. Yard is flying at Wolverhampton and a big run looks on the cards.
