Reason for Tip

Goldmoyne has been in a bit of slump last year and stable reached for cheekpieces in December and has looked a completely difference horse since then. Form is now 1122 in last four starts, all of which have been at this track and no signs of Goldmoyne letting up anytime soon. Seems to still be a little well handicapped and was only denied the win lto by a horse who was completing a seven timer. Loves this course, fine over this distance and whilst he’s drawn wide from stall 8, can be lightening quick out the stalls and so should take up his preferred prominent position regardless of this draw. Luke Morris retains the ride and this race is very winnable. Goldmoyne looks the one to beat, but if running even close to or better to his recent runs, could take this handily. Major player and looks the likely victor today.

Goldmoyne looks a strong NAP in the 5.00 at Newcastle.

After a below-par spell last year, connections reached for cheekpieces in December and the transformation has been immediate. His recent form now reads 1-1-2-2, all achieved at this course, and he continues to look well treated by the handicapper.

He was only denied last time by a rival completing a seven-timer, which reads very well in the context of this race. Goldmoyne clearly loves Newcastle, handles the trip perfectly, and while drawn wide in stall 8, he is sharp from the gates and should be able to secure a prominent position early on.

With Luke Morris retaining the ride and this looking a very winnable contest, Goldmoyne sets a solid standard and looks the one to beat.

Reason for Tip

Now a nine year old, Betterforeveryone still has what it takes to compete in these races and has proven that as recently as October when winning here over 3miles. A slightly subpar performance lto at Uttoxeter when last seen in November but a line can be drawn through that. Tends to do his best work when fresh these days which we saw when winning here in October on return from a 6 month break. Has had a few months off and makes return here today which is positive. Trip and ground are both absolutely fine and he’s enjoyed good runs here in this race previously, was third in this last year. It’s a big field with a lot of bookies paying 4+ places so Betterforeveryone looks a good bet at 16/1 and he is by no means written off for win purposes. Tom Bellamy retains the ride and knows how to win aboard this boy. Looks to have a reasonable chance and a place looks likely at a nice price and with a bit of luck may just sneak in and win.

At a big price, Betterforeveryone makes appeal as the Dark Horse in the 1.55 at Bangor-On-Dee.

Now nine years old, he showed as recently as October that he still retains plenty of ability when winning here over three miles. His below-par effort at Uttoxeter last time can be forgiven, as he tends to do his best work when fresh — something we’ve seen before at this track.

He returns here after a short break, with trip and ground to suit, and he was third in this race last year. In a big field where bookmakers are paying multiple places, Betterforeveryone looks a strong each-way angle at 16/1, and he is not ruled out for win purposes with a bit of luck.

Four year old Cooramook was previously with Harry Eustace and is currently without a win in first 14 starts. Since moved to the Mark Loughnane yard which looks to be a positive change and should be interesting here today on stable debut. Has competed strongly off marks of 58-63 and so the current mark of 62 is very workable. Has ran well at this track before and has a good draw today from stall 3. Question marks over a few of these ahead of Cooramook in the market and so this race looks a little more favourable than some of the recent runs. Paddy Bradley gets the ride and he’s in good form at the moment so it’s a strong booking. Looks to have a good chance today at quite a nice price too.

Five year old No Cure has been progressive in all three starts thus far which resulted in a fine win at Limerick lto on second hurdle start in a big field race. Since moved from Ireland and now resides with the Lawes and makes stable debut today on British soil. Should be fine with the ground today as it’s the same conditions as the win at Limerick and whilst the drop in trip isn’t an obvious positive, on pedigree it should be fine. Remains very unexposed and who knows where the veiling may for this youngster. Kevin Brogan gets the ride and he’s enjoying a stellar couple of weeks and has won 40% of his rides in the last fortnight. There is a short price favourite at the head of the market but if the improvement keeps coming for No Cure, capable of taking this.

Ribble Vibe has had some close calls in recent runs but remains competitive almost every time he runs and the form reflects that. 42312 since September last year. Joined the O’Meara’s at the back end of last year and won nicely at Wolverhampton in December before going on to finish a close second on trials day at Newcastle last month. Has a plum draw here out of stall 1 to take the early position as he likes to do and this 2m trip is his usual so no concerns there. Cieren Fallon aboard today for the first time and that’s a positive jockey change, Cieren is a top rider and knows how to get the job at this track. Ribble Vibe should keep moving in a positive direction and looks the one to beat here today.

Seven year old The Caltonian has been a little up and down at the tail end of last season but everything went right on first run in 2026 when running a fantastic race here at Newcastle last month and won pretty comfortably. Has been hit with a 5lb rise but on previous form remains well treated and a chance is taken on this boy following up as he is more than capable of defying this mark. Does drop back to 5f today but has ran that trip plenty of times previously, including here and it won’t be a negative. Drawn in stall 7 but won’t pose a problem as he runs his best races from middle of the pack and pouncing at the break. Yard and jockey have a good record together and Paul has ridden this boy before. Does need another good performance to take this, but that is very plausible following his run last time out.
