Largely consistent in class 4’s this year with form of 1234 in them since August. Bit outclassed when upped to a class 3 lto at Newcastle and looks set to bounceback today in this drop back to a class 4. Has good course form, and has won here previously over this trip. Remains on a workable mark and isn’t written off in this race whatsoever. Billy Loughnane gets the ride and he has a great record here. Benacre does his best running from the front and so if Billy can get this boy out quickly to an uncontested lead he may take some catching from only 2lb above his last winning mark.

Benacre is your live outsider today. He’s been rock-solid in Class 4 company this year with form figures 1-2-3-4 at the level and simply found life too tough upped to Class 3 last time.

Back to Class 4 and back to Newcastle — where he’s already won — he sits just 2lb above his last winning mark and gets the services of Billy Loughnane, who rides this track extremely well.

Expect him to go forward. If Loughnane can grab an uncontested lead, this horse becomes very difficult to reel in.

Klub De Reve is still a rather unexposed five year old who has only run three times under rules after winning an irish point. Ran very well when third in a warm class 2 at Newbury on second start and again ran creditably when fourth on seasonal debut lto in a class 3 maiden. Drops back a grade here and looks a major player in this company. Will appreciate the ground and trip is ideal. From a yard in good form with a good record here and a good jockey aboard in Paul O’Brien. Would be no surprise to this boy win today with further progress highly likely.

Progressive last term and is no stranger to the winners circle, landed a quickfire double this time last year and looks set for another strong start to this campaign. Ran very well on seasonal debut at Fontwell when finishing second and should strip much fitter here today. Gets a shorter trip today which is fine, the double last year was over 2m and so the drop back from the 2m3f is arguably a positive. Top yard churning out plenty of winners and James Bowen gets the ride which is a plus. Keep running has a fantastic chance today.

Has plenty of ability and a good engine and looks primed to strike today. Returned on seasonal debut at Wetherby and finished 2nd of 8 that day and should be tuned up and ready for this race today. Runs the usual trip on ideal ground and has a fantastic jockey aboard in Gavin Sheehan, Yard in great form and this four year old looks every bit the winner today in this drop back in class.

Yard not in the greatest form at the moment but Castan has a great jockey aboard in Kieren Shoemark and would be no shock to see Kieren ride Castan home the winner. Likely winner.
