Since being fitted with a tongue strap, he has put together a sensational four race winning streak over fences at Hexham, with his most recent victory coming just five days ago in dominant fashion by over nine lengths. A slick, fluent jumper who relishes making all the running on good ground, he is simply thriving on his racing and visibly gaining confidence with every start. Although he steps up to Class 4 and must carry a penalty for his recent successes, his supreme confidence and front running style make him incredibly difficult to peg back. Passengerontheship has found his ideal niche over fences and looks primed to keep his spectacular winning sequence intact.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Four year old Emit is still relatively low mileage and remains open to plenty of further progression. He has only finished outside the top two once in his career so far, and that came in a Group 3 at Ascot last June.

He returned with a strong third in a Group 3 at Longchamp before finishing second in a much warmer Group 2 there on his latest start in October. This is a drop in class compared to those races and although he returns from a break, the yard has a strong record with fresh horses.

The trip and ground both look ideal and with Ryan Moore booked for the ride, Emit looks like the one to beat today and should take plenty of stopping.

Henry Box Brown, a tough and honest 9yo gelding by Getaway, represents excellent value in Bangor-On-Dee’s 6:33 Wrexham Evening Handicap Chase. Trained by Mrs C Williams and ridden by regular jockey Ellis Collier, who claims a useful five pounds, he is a seasoned campaigner with four jumps victories to his name. Although he unseated his rider last time out at Southwell, he was in the process of running a highly encouraging race and has previously bounced back resiliently from adversity. Henry Box Brown is now running off an exceptionally attractive handicap mark of 80, which is significantly lower than his peak winning marks. He handles good ground well and has run several competitive races over this distance. Representing the enthusiastic Old Gold Racing syndicate, this courageous veteran is dangerously well handicapped and remains highly capable of making his presence felt in the final stages of this staying contest at a nice price.

🎯 Dark Horse

This looks a very open race and Eupator could be a lively outsider at a big price. The four year old completed a Wolverhampton double earlier in the year but has been held the last twice off a higher mark.

However, the handicapper has started to ease his mark slightly and he now drops back in class here, which could make a big difference. This trip suits and he tends to run his best races when able to get to the front early, which looks possible from stall 3 today.

From a yard with a decent record at the track and with Joe Leavy booked, Eupator looks overpriced and could run a big race at nice odds.

Bred and owned by the prestigious Cheveley Park Stud and trained by the expert James Fanshawe, she represents top tier racing connections. Following a quiet debut on the all-weather surface at Wolverhampton, Consultation showed immense progress when switched to the turf. She finished a highly respectable and close third in a maiden at Pontefract earlier this month, where she started as the market favourite. She demonstrated a highly professional attitude and handled the turf comfortably, confirming that grass is her preferred surface. Open to significant further improvement on only her third career start, she looks primed to build on that encouraging effort. Finlaggan, an unexposed 4yo gelding by Night Of Thunder, holds incredibly strong credentials in Doncaster’s 12:15 Story Cup Handicap. Trained by the highly prolific David O’Meara, he is a well bred individual who remains open to plenty of improvement in handicap company. Finlaggan showed his true capabilities on his handicap debut at Pontefract in April, finishing a close second and beaten by just a neck. After finding Ripon’s tricky undulations too challenging on his subsequent start, he got back on track last time out when finishing a respectable fourth over ten furlongs in cheekpieces. For this upcoming race, O’Meara adds a first time tongue strap to the cheekpieces, a tactical gear change that could spark the necessary step forward. Ridden by top jockey Daniel Tudhope, who has a strong record at Doncaster, this lightly raced gelding is well handicapped and should relish the good to firm turf surface, making him a prime contender.

Dropping back in distance to ten furlongs is a very logical move, as he previously ran an excellent second over this trip at Windsor. Partnered with the highly capable amateur Mr Jack Lander, who claims a valuable five pound allowance, this low-mileage gelding has a wonderful opportunity to break his maiden with a deserved victory.
