Reason for Tip

Three runner race here at Exeter and Dyno Dave from the Henderson yard is taken to get the job done. Still unexposed over the fences and came good lto when winning over C&D. Has gone up 5lb for that but has been progressive and remains open to further and so it’s probably not enough to stop another big performance here. The obvious threat is O’Brien trained Mahler Moon but the O’Brien yard has a terrible record at this course and so Dyno Dave looks a likelier victor. Henderson has a 29% strikerate at Exeter and when James Owen rides his horses at this track, they’ve won 40% of the time. Won’t take much more improvement to take this today and Dyno Dave should probably come out on top today.

No Tackle is a horse who clearly thrives around Leicester and looks set to strike again. The nine-year-old has already won twice at this track and was only narrowly denied when finishing second here last time out. His recent form figures of 1-2-2since November highlight just how consistent he’s been.

Dropping back into Class 4 company today is a big plus, and this race looks weaker than his most recent assignments. The slight drop in trip won’t be an issue, the forecast ground is ideal, and Liam Harrison knows this horse well. Given his course record and current mark, No Tackle looks the one to beat.

Reason for Tip

Big field handicap here and most bookies paying around 4 places. One who has failed to perform lately is Spartan Arrow from the Watson yard but can run a huge race on the day sometimes. Group 3 scorer at Dundalk and has won a listed event on turf and so is much better than the form we’ve seen recently. On a very workable mark and has a plum draw from stall 1. 14% of winners come from this stall at Pontefract and it is an advantage. Has plenty of early pace and likes to lead which is a positive at this course and the good to soft ground should be well suited. Yard in strong form at the moment and a good jockey aboard in Hollie Doyle and Hollie knows how to get the job done at this track. Does need to bounce back, capable of much better than recent form and there’s a few positives today. Decent chance.

A wide-open race at Chelmsford and one where Ludo’s Landing could easily outrun his odds. He hasn’t won for a while, but that has seen his mark tumble to 3lb below his last winning rating, making him very interesting here.

He’s shown an affinity for Chelmsford on previous visits and returns to a left-handed track, which has suited him well in the past. The slight step up in trip is another potential positive, and Jason Hart is a solid booking for a yard that knows how to place their horses. At double-figure odds, a big run wouldn’t surprise.

Might be a sole win from ten starts for Kokanee but runs in a very weak race today and looks a very likely victor in this line up. Ok draw from stall 4 and runs his ideal straight mile. Has ran at this course before and creditably so. Hasn’t been seen since October but from a yard with a decent record with fresh horses and should be primed and ready for the run today. Good jockey aboard in Rossa Ryan and Rossa has a 34% strikerate at this course and so Kokanee is in very good hands. Lots to like, likely winner.

Pretty open looking race here in the 3.40 full of unexposed four year olds and of the ones who’ve had a run previously, Bannerdown has the best form. There is a Tizzard at the head of the market but yard don’t have a remarkable debut strikerate so taking that favourite on. Bannerdown has the makings of a strong stayer and will stay this trip no problem at all, wasn’t far away when fourth on debut at Stratford and the change of course to Exeter today is likely a positive. Exeter is stiffer and the ground is likely to suit here. Thomas Bellamy aboard. Major player.

Wide open race here and one who has been very consistent of late is six year old Fleur De Mer from the Todhunter yard. Form of 332 on the AW since December and looks to be on a very workable mark for return to turf today. Trip and ground are a positive and the slight drop in distance looks likely to produce a favourable outcome Yard have reached for cheekpieces today for the first time which should help keep this six year old focused. Wouldn’t take a great deal to win this race and Fleur De Mer is very race fit at the moment and has Mark Winn aboard for the steering. Doesn’t ride a great deal Mark, but when he has recently has recorded a healthy strikerate and so it’s not a negative booking. Capable of having a big say in this.

Largely progressive three year old who won on fifth time of asking at Newcastle lto when upped to the mile. Runs that same trip here today on return from a break since October and the only real question mark is ability to go well fresh. This race looks a nice find from the yard and it isn’t overly warm. Sovereign View is well drawn from stall 4 and we may possibly see him sat off the pace which worked brilliantly lto. Mark remains reasonable and this track often pays dividends for the Tate yard who have a 30% strikerate here in the last two years. P J retains the ride from lto and Sovereign View looks to have a big chance to follow up today. Yard have a very strong record with horses returning from breaks of 60+ days and so likely to be primed to a decent level for this. Likely winner.
