TipmanTips Outright Winner Picks

We’re putting forward two smart outright each way plays in Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Both are strong enough to go all the way but also offer genuine place chances with the top two payout. At these prices, the upside more than justifies the stake. Each-way terms are typically 1/2 odds for a top-two finish, making this a value play on two strong contenders.

Bayern had a strong domestic campaign and went deep in the Champions League. They’re no strangers to playing in the United States, having had regular pre-season tours across multiple American cities. This familiarity with the climate and setup gives them a low-key advantage many won’t factor in. Their squad is deep enough to rotate in attacking areas without dropping quality, and with the current draw, they look underpriced. A recent piece by The Athletic even rated them as the No.1 team based on performance metrics. That sort of backing only adds weight to this value price. At 7/1, Bayern are our headline outright pick.

According to a recent The Athletic analysis, Bayern Munich ranked No.1 across performance metrics

Chelsea – 10/1

Chelsea might surprise a few, but they’re quietly building something powerful. After winning the Europa Conference League in dominant fashion against Real Betis, momentum is growing. They’ve got a huge squad full of players either fighting for permanent places or showcasing themselves for summer moves. That level of hunger and internal competition is gold in tournament football. Plus, with the club’s financial pressures, this tournament could be taken more seriously than others. It’s a fresh, young group filled with big names and big point-provers. At 10/1, there’s a lot to like about Chelsea lifting their first Club World Cup.

Key Dates and Format

The tournament kicks off on June 15, 2025, with the final scheduled for July 13. Matches will be played across multiple US cities, with a similar structure to the FIFA World Cup. Eight groups of four teams, top two from each progressing to the knockouts.

Qualified Teams to Watch

European Giants: Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and PSG have all qualified. As usual, European clubs dominate the betting markets and will be tough to beat over a month-long format.

South American Threats: Palmeiras, Flamengo and River Plate are the main challengers from CONMEBOL. These sides are battle-hardened and know how to manage tournament football.

Dark Horses: Clubs like Al Ahly from Egypt, Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan and Monterrey from Mexico could offer value in match markets, especially in the group stage.

Other Outright Betting Thoughts

Manchester City lead the market at around 5/2. While they’re always a threat, squad rotation and fixture load could catch them out over a tournament of this length.

Real Madrid hover at 3/1 and will be boosted by incoming talent and their usual elite pedigree.

Flamengo at 14/1 remain a lively outsider. South American clubs treat this competition with serious intent, and they’re no strangers to high-pressure knockout games.

If you’re looking beyond our top two picks, Bayern each-way and Flamengo for value still stand out.

We’ve had a good look through the early matchups and while there’s always some guesswork involved with the lesser-known sides from outside Europe and South America, there’s no denying the gulf in quality across certain groups. We’ve pulled together a group stage acca combining qualification and group winner markets that looks well priced at around 5/1.

Chelsea to win their group

Plenty to like here. Chelsea should have too much for the sides drawn alongside them and with the squad depth they’ve got, rotation shouldn’t hurt their momentum. With silverware in the bag from the Conference League and financial fair play still hanging over them, expect them to take this seriously and get the job done in the group.

Atletico Madrid to qualify

Drawn alongside PSG, Seattle Sounders and Botafogo, Atletico look a smart shout to progress. They’ve got the experience, the structure and the grit for tournament football. PSG might edge the group but Atletico should come through comfortably in one of the qualifying spots.

FC Porto to qualify

A tricky group on paper with Al Ahly, Inter Miami and Palmeiras in the mix but Porto have the European pedigree and the kind of tournament nous that should see them through. Expect them to do enough in the key moments to make it out.

Benfica to qualify

Bayern are favourites in this group but Benfica should be nailed on to grab second. Auckland City won’t trouble them and a result against Boca Juniors should be enough to seal their place in the knockouts.

River Plate to qualify

A solid South American outfit with a proper squad. They face Inter Milan, Urawa Red Diamonds and Monterrey. Inter might top the group but with their ageing legs and long campaign, they could be there for the taking. River Plate look well placed to take advantage.

This five-fold pays around 5/1 and offers a strong mix of value and logical selections.

Top Goalscorer Tip

Cole Palmer – 33/1

A bit of a sleeper pick at 33/1, Palmer is one to watch closely. Although his goalscoring dipped in the latter half of the season, his overall performances remained impressive. He earned man of the match honors in the Europa Conference League final with a commanding display against Real Betis. With confidence high and less pressure on him, Palmer could capitalize against some of the weaker defenses in the tournament and become a serious threat on the scoresheet.
