Reason for Tip

Pretty underwhelming looking race here and one who looks a very likely winner of this is eight year old Shalaa Asker. In great form at the moment and has been very close on last two starts when second both times. Remains on a very competitive mark and has a good draw in stall 4 today. There was trouble in running at the break lto and so the second place is better than the bare result, would have won with a clear passage. Top jockey aboard in Rob Hornby and for a tiny yard, the Wallis’s are going well. This looks a nice price and Shalaa Asker probably only needs to run the same as the last twice to get the job done today. Massive chance.

Our NAP of the Day is the Aidan O’Brien-trained Delacroix in the 5.30 at Leopardstown.

This classy three-year-old has contested some of the biggest races this season, including a memorable win over Ombudsman in the Eclipse before the form was reversed in the Juddmonte. Despite that, Delacroix retains Group 1 calibre and remains unbeaten at Leopardstown.

With Christophe Soumillon in the saddle, the conditions perfect, and the form book in his favour, Delacroix should take all the beating.

Reason for Tip

Pretty wide open race in the penultimate on the card at Yarmouth and one looks capable of a big seasonal return is four year old Gorgeous Mr George. Three time winner at Yarmouth and record at this course is largely very solid even when not winning. Looked a little out of sorts and tired when signing off last season with an eighth place here and could be a different proposition when fresh today. Will act on both trip and ground and and remains on a workable mark. This race looks anyone’s and this four year old is entitled to have a say in this. Dylan Cunha gets the ride and it wouldn’t surprise me if Gorgeous Mr George went very close or better here.

This experienced sprinter was a revelation in 2024, winning seven times, but has struggled to replicate that form this season. However, his recent fifth in a competitive York handicap suggested he’s coming back to himself. Back at a track that should suit, with the experienced Paul Mulrennan doing the steering, Jordan Electrics looks overpriced and could easily get involved.

Pretty open race here and Jolly Good Fellows from the Newland & Insole stable looks set to progress from the solid run made on debut at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Third that day and looks an improver and this race doesn’t look overly warm. Couple of newcomers head the market and they could be anything but don’t look particularly reliable. Jolly is well drawn in stall 3, this trip is fine and has a fantastic jockey aboard in Rossa Ryan. This race won’t take a huge deal of winning and Jolly is taken to improve on second start and do just that.

First two starts last year perhaps a little disappointing and the returning run this season at Southwell was not a disgraceful fourth place but clearly needed the run. Should be fresher here today and does have some course experience from debut run. Makes handicap debut today off a workable mark and the extra yardage on pedigree today is more a positive than anything else. Has the makings of a better three year old and represents a major stable who are very much inform. Jason Watson aboard for the ride is a strong booking and King Of Berkshire is in good hands here. Big chance.

Low mileage and unexposed five year old who’s been getting better and better. Creditable third on handicap debut last month and appreciated the big step up in trip so yard have opted for the same here and it looks a good decision. Will be fine on this ground and this race is not as strong as the previous run and so Golden Prince looks to have a very bold say today. Further progression still highly likely and whilst this represents course debut, could take to Ffos Las quite nicely. Won’t take a great deal of winning this and Golden Prince looks to have found his preferred trip. Major player.

Six year old Daytona Lady has now become rather well handicapped to the point it’s hard to ignore. 8lb lower than when beating Jax Edge here in 2024 and wasn’t far away lto at Southwell on first run back from a fair old break. Should be much fitter today and has to be taken seriously here from a plum draw in stall 2. Looks very well treated today and has a very decent booking in Joanna Mason who is arguably quite underrated due to the rides she often gets. Daytona Lady looks weight to win and might just do that at a nice price.
