He subsequently ran a highly respectable third when stepped up to eleven furlongs at Hamilton last month, where he faded late on. Returning to his optimum distance of a mile and a quarter today is a major positive, and the colt is reported to be in superb physical condition at home. Jockey Ross Coakley, who steered him to that Chepstow victory, is reunited with him in the saddle today. Regulus Black is expected to appreciate the fast turf and should sign off his current stable career with a highly positive and winning handicap performance on the turf this evening.
