Reason for Tip

For a four year old, Fast Track Harry is still very low mileage with only seven starts to his name and remains open to plenty of further progression. Made a very strong start to handicapping when second in a very warm race at York back in June last year and after two disappointing runs at Ascot following that, returned lto from a break to win in nice style at Lingfield. That was first run after a gelding op and he looked much more settled and relaxed throughout the race and i’d be surprised if he doesn’t kick on for that win and improve again. This is his usual trip and whilst this may be course debut at this track, yard are enjoying a good spell and have a very favourable strikerate in the last month. Rob Hornby aboard is a huge plus at this course, he has 40% of his races in the last two years at this course and Fast Track Harry is in very good hands here. Looks a very likely winner again today.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Our NAP of the Day is Fast Track Harry in the 6.30 at Newcastle.

This lightly raced four-year-old from the Clive Cox yard still has plenty of improvement to come, having had just seven career starts.

He made a strong impression when second in a competitive York handicap last season, and after two below-par efforts, he returned from a break with a very impressive win at Lingfield.

That was his first run after a gelding operation, and he looked far more settled and professional throughout. With that run under his belt, further improvement looks highly likely.

This is his usual trip and although it’s his first run at Newcastle, the yard is in good form and the booking of Rob Hornbyis a major positive. Hornby boasts an excellent record at this track, with a 40% strike rate here in recent years.

With progression expected and conditions to suit, Fast Track Harry looks a very strong NAP selection.

Reason for Tip

Bit inconsistent at times but on his day Jeriko De Baune is more than capable of contesting races at this level and did so when winning at Clonmel over 3 miles back in November. Couple of lesser performances recently have dropped his mark and now just 3lb above the mark he won off at Clonmel. Acts on this trip and will appreciate the ground today. Looking a bit well handicapped and 18/1 looks a big price considering his only other run at this course was a good performance. Yard have a decent record in this race and at this course generally. Usual jockey Niall Moore retains the ride and it would be no surprise if this horse ran into the places at least today at a nice price. Chance.

🎯 Dark Horse

Our Dark Horse racing tip is Jeriko De Baune in the 4.30 at Cork, priced around 18/1.

While inconsistent at times, this runner has shown he is capable at this level, including a win at Clonmel over 3 miles in November.

Recent runs haven’t been as strong, but those efforts have seen his mark drop to just 3lb above his last winning mark, making him look well handicapped.

He is proven at this trip and should appreciate the ground conditions, while his previous run at this course was also encouraging.

The yard has a solid record at Cork and in this race, and regular jockey Niall Moore retains the ride.

At a big price, Jeriko De Baune has the potential to outrun his odds and hit the frame.

12 year old Enjoy D’allen still knows how to get the job done even at this age as he’s proven three times this season already. Got up again lto by over 7 lengths at Plumpton and only gone up 2lb for that success. Looks to still be well treated and runs in very similar conditions today both in trip and the ground that’s forecast. Very small 3 runner field here in the first on the card and Enjoy D’Allen looks a major player. Lily Jones retains the ride, knows the horse well and has won on this boy a few times now. Pretty open looking race and top weight Enjoy D’Allen looks the likely victor.

Nine year old Gris Majeur returns to action today after 112 days off and looks very capable of making a winning return. Looked very solid and consistent in all last four starts over fences and form reads 2123 since April last year. Versatile distance wise and will be fine over this trip and this looks a good distance for his return run. Drying ground is particularly favourable and will act on this today. Has gone well fresh previously and likely to put in a big run despite the break. Stable is a smaller one but have a good record at this course and that tends to speak volumes for smaller operations. Top jockey enlisted for today in Ben Jones and he’s won 33% of rides aboard Lewis trained horses at this track. Major player today.

Pretty open looking race here in the 4.10 and one who looks set for a big run is nine year old Scudamore from the Candlish yard who has strung together some strong performances of late, including over C&D two starts ago. Looks on a good mark and looks to have a great chance today at a course he enjoys and on ground he will relish following some recent runs on less than favourable ground conditions. Reliable jumper and will make the running and this race looks a little more winnable than a couple of recent contests. Jennie is enjoying a fine time of it over the last couple of weeks and thats a positive for Scudamore too. Ian Power back aboard today. Good chance.

Interesting race here with a lot of unexposed three year olds and one who catches the eye at nice odds who’s capable of much better than debut performance is Midsummer Storm from the Burke yard. Very green on debut at Newcastle back in February when fourth of ten and likely a big improver today. Very nicely bred and cost a princely sum of 550,000 euros. Drops back a furlong in trip today which shouldn’t pose any issues and despite being drawn wide in stall 8, should have a very good chance here. Bred for much better, likely to see that today and has a jockey change to James Doyle for this run. Burke yard are in form, have an excellent record here and when James Doyle rides for the yard, theyve won 32% of races and on the only occasion where they combined at this course in the last two years, won very nicely. Midsummer Storm is taken to get the job done today on second start.

Despite being a 12-year-old, Enjoy D’allen continues to perform at a high level, winning three times this season already.

He was an impressive winner last time out at Plumpton, scoring by over 7 lengths, and has only been raised 2lb for that success.

Conditions today are very similar in terms of trip and ground, and in this small field, he looks a major contender once again.

Gris Majeur – 2.50 Ludlow (11/4)

Gris Majeur returns from a break but has a very solid profile over fences, with form figures of 2123 in his last four runs.

He has shown he can perform well fresh and looks well suited by both the trip and drying ground.

Trainer Sheila Lewis has a strong record at Ludlow, and with Ben Jones aboard, who boasts an excellent strike rate for the yard at this track, Gris Majeur looks a big player.

Scudamore – 4.10 Sedgefield (9/2)

Scudamore has been in consistent form recently and ran well over course and distance two starts ago.

He now returns to more suitable ground conditions and looks well handicapped in what appears a winnable race.

A reliable jumper who is likely to make the running, he could prove difficult to catch if getting into a rhythm early.

Midsummer Storm looks a fascinating runner on his second start.

He was very green on debut when finishing fourth at Newcastle but is expected to improve significantly here.

A €550,000 purchase, he is clearly well regarded and represents a yard in excellent form.
