Reason for Tip

Race full of unexposed youngsters or debutants and one who looks set for victory today is five year old Ink Black Heart from the Skeltons. Ran a cracker on stable debut in December at Wetherby when second of fifteen and likely to come on a lot for that. Form from that race is strong with the winner going on to follow up in a Listed race since. Both trip and ground should be favourable for this five year old and represents a yard in good form along with having a fantastic record at this course. Harry is aboard and he has a 32% strikerate at this track and that rises to 33% when aboard Skelton trained horses. Capable of progressing beyond this field and looks a very likely winner.

Ink Black Heart – 4.40 Exeter (5/4)

Today’s NAP of the Day is Ink Black Heart, trained by Dan Skelton and ridden by Harry Skelton.

This race is full of unexposed runners and debutants, but Ink Black Heart sets a strong standard after an excellent run on stable debut at Wetherby back in December, finishing second in a competitive field of fifteen. The form of that race has worked out extremely well, with the winner going on to land a Listed contest since.

Both the trip and ground conditions look ideal, and with the Skelton yard continuing to operate in strong form, there is every chance this five-year-old improves again. Harry Skelton boasts a 32% strike rate at Exeter, which rises slightly when riding for the yard.

With the potential to progress beyond this field, Ink Black Heart looks the horse to beat and a very strong NAP selection today.

Reason for Tip

Joint top weight Into The Park has failed to act on the trip and ground combinations of late but not disgraced either. Rarely runs a bad race and will likely be heavily involved today in first time blinkers. Steps up in trip to 3 miles which on pedigree is actually a big positive and may unlock the form we know this seven year old is capable of. Jumps well, and on this drop back down in class has to be taken seriously today. Callum Pritchard aboard with his 3lb apprentice claim is no negative, makes this boy even more well treated and Callum has an exceptional strikerate at this track of 40% in the last 2 years. Has lots of winners for this yard and Into the Park is in good hands today in a race that looks very winnable.

🎯 Dark Horse

Into The Park – 4.22 Wetherby (9/1)

Our Dark Horse racing tip today is Into The Park from the Hobbs and White yard.

This seven-year-old has struggled slightly with recent trip and ground combinations, but has still run respectably and rarely produces a poor performance. Today’s step up to three miles looks a significant positive, particularly based on pedigree, and could unlock further improvement.

The addition of first-time blinkers is another interesting angle that could sharpen this runner up. Dropping in class also looks ideal and makes this race far more manageable.

Callum Pritchard takes the ride and claims 3lb, which further enhances the horse’s mark. He also has an excellent 40% strike rate at Wetherby over the past two years, particularly when teaming up with this yard.

At the prices, Into The Park looks a lively outsider capable of going very close.

Six year old Loki’s Mischief is yet to win over hurdles but has been running creditably in defeat, particularly the last twice when third and then second. Has pieced together some form of late and looks set to continue that today in a very ordinary looking race. This 2m7f looked to be a strong trip for this youngster and runs that again today, remains unexposed at this distance and looks set for a big run here. Will act on the good to soft thats forecast and has the benefit of a fantastic jockey aboard in Harry Cobden who has a 29% strikerate here. Yard also have a fantastic record here and for a smaller yard are winning plenty of races at the moment. When yard have combined here at this course, they have won 40% of races. Big chance today.

Warm looking Class 4 here in the third at Exeter but one who looks ready for a big run is five year old Firm But Fair from the Derham yard. Low mileage and very unexposed and hasn’t really put a foot wrong so far with form of 233. Has been progressive at the figures and no reason that won’t continue, looks to still be well treated and looks a good prospect on course debut at Exeter today. Handles this trip no problem and ground is a positive. Remains open to more progress than most if not all of this field and has a good jockey aboard in Paul O’Brien. Yard and jockey historically combine well together and no strangers to shared success, including here. Lots to like.

Reason for Tip

Interesting runner here in a rather open looking race. Becasse is ex french, only had three runs in France back in 2024 and not seen since but the last run in France was a strong performance resulting in a win at Fontainebleau. Long break to contend with but remains very unexposed and resides with a fantastic yard who know how to ready them in the De Bromheads. Won on very soft so ground looks ideally suited and the trip shouldn’t cause any concern. Great jockey aboard in Darragh and this youngster might just have something to say today on first run for these connections. In good hands and yard and jockey have a good strikerate when combining here at Wexford, Becasse is a bit of an unknown but has promise.

This is not a strong race and one who looks set to capatilise on that is five year old Keeper of Secrets from the Ian Williams yard. Returned this year after a long absence and has been progressive if nothing else thus far this year. Looked better and better and wasn’t far away lto at Lingfield when fourth in a bunched finish. Yard have reached for cheekpieces which should benefit this youngster and stall 3 is a good draw here at Wolverhampton. Billy Loughnane gets the ride which is a jockey upgrade from recent riders and when he’s aboard Williams trained horses at this course, they’ve won 34% of races. Does need to find a little extra today, but looks set to do just that and a win looks likely.

Loki’s Mischief is yet to win over hurdles but has been knocking firmly on the door, finishing third and then second on his last two starts. The 2m7f trip appears to suit him very well, and with further improvement likely at this distance he could be ready to break his maiden.

Harry Cobden takes the ride and boasts a 29% strike rate at Exeter, while the Chester Williams yard have been operating in good form. When the yard and jockey combine here, they have recorded an impressive 40% strike rate, making this runner extremely interesting.

Firm But Fair – 2.55 Exeter

Firm But Fair is a progressive five-year-old from the Harry Derham yard with a record of 233 so far under rules. Still lightly raced, he remains open to further improvement and has shown consistent ability in his early career.

The trip and ground conditions look ideal, and the step into this race does not appear beyond him. Paul O’Brien takes the ride and has enjoyed good success when teaming up with the yard.

With more progression likely, Firm But Fair looks capable of playing a major role here.

Becasse – 3.22 Wexford

Becasse is an interesting runner making his first appearance for the Henry De Bromhead yard after previously racing in France. His last run in France resulted in a convincing victory at Fontainebleau, suggesting there is plenty of ability there.

Although returning from a lengthy break, he now joins a yard that excels with these types of horses. The ground conditions should suit perfectly, and the trip should pose no problem.

With Darragh O’Keeffe booked for the ride and the yard boasting a strong record at Wexford, Becasse could prove a dangerous contender.

Keeper Of Secrets – 6.30 Wolverhampton

Keeper Of Secrets looks well placed to strike in what appears to be a fairly weak contest at Wolverhampton.

After returning from a lengthy break earlier this year, he has shown steady improvement, most recently finishing fourth in a competitive race at Lingfield where the field finished closely together.

The application of first-time cheekpieces could unlock further improvement, and stall three provides a favourable draw around this track. Billy Loughnane takes the ride, representing a notable jockey upgrade, and when he rides Ian Williams runners here the strike rate stands at an impressive 34%.

With conditions looking favourable, Keeper Of Secrets has a strong chance of landing this race.
