Reason for Tip

You could be forgiven for questioning the maiden form of 4666 but Kado Sacree is bred for much better than that and we are likely to see that today on handicap debut. Enters handicaps on a rather low mark and this race is not very warm at all. Won’t take a great deal of improvement to take this today and the increased trip are a big positive on pedigree. Ground conditions are ideal and there’s lots of positives for this six year old today. Murphy yard in great form, have been all year and Kado Sacree has a big jockey upgrade today to the fantastic Sean Bowen. When Sean and Olly combine at Carlisle they’ve won 30% of races in the last two years and Sean will get the very best from this boy today at a course he knows very well. Looks set to win handicap debut.

Chantelle has done everything asked of her so far, winning both career starts and now enters handicaps on what looks a very workable mark. She’s the most unexposed horse in the field and is open to plenty of further improvement.

The slight step up to the straight mile should suit on pedigree, and she’s been handed a plum draw in stall 1. With only a small field, Chantelle should get a clear run and plenty of room to use her turn of foot.

Prescott’s horses are ticking along nicely and Luke Morris keeps the ride after steering her to her first two wins. On form, figures and potential progression, Chantelle sets the standard and looks the one they all have to beat.

Reason for Tip

Wide open large field handicap here at Musselburgh and one who looks a big price with a half decent chance is six year old Rhythm N Hooves. Consistent type who won off only 2lb lower at Newbury last summer. Whilst has been held over the winter on the Aw, the return to turf is a positive and he looks well handicapped. Has a good draw from stall 2 for a horse who likes to lead or at least be prominent and if he’s given an easy time of it, will be hard to peg back off this mark in ideal conditions. Cowell yard in great form with a 33% fortnightly strikerate and Jason Hard aboard for the ride. Looks set for a big run today and at 16/1 looks very likely to outrun those odds and no reason why he won’t be heavily involved in this race.

Eight year old Teddy Blue has plenty of ability but can at times be a little inconsistent. Returned to action this season in a Grade 3 race at Ascot and won well however has been a little sub par in both subsequent runs since. Returns to Newbury today which is a course he likes and he should run a little better here. Does generally like the ground a little firmer than this this track doesnt always feel quite as soft as some in this condition so its not a complete write off for this boy. Less question marks for Teddy Blue at this trip than a lot of this field and he represents a yard who are going very well at the moment. Freddie Keighley booked for the ride. Is capable of running a big race and expecting him to bounce back and do just that today.

Reason for Tip

Warm looking renewal here with a Balding three year old at the head of the market at time of writing but preference is for Vincenzo Peruggia from the Johnston yard. Ran ok on debut at Hamilton when third back in June last year and followed up at Beverley when winning nicely. Outclassed in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood when last seen in July last year but this three year old is beautifully bred and looks a major danger on step back down to Class 3 company. Has an ok draw from stall 6 and represents a top yard who won this race last year. Rowan Scott aboard for the ride. Vincenzo Peruggia is highly unexposed and remains open to plenty of further improvement. Should go well fresh and has a major chance today in this grade.

This ten year old consistently produces best work in March and April each year and we’ve seen that again this year. Third at Leicester and then a winner at Hereford lto. Remains well treated off adjusted mark and is likely to run well again today in conditions that are ideally suited. For a small yard the Case’s have found a couple of winners recently and that bodes well for Jack Doyen’s chances. Biggest question mark is the course, makes debut today at Newton Abbot and has sometimes struggled going left handed but if he can shake that off, looks to have a good chance today.

Pretty open race here and Springtime Legend from the Mulholland stable. Low mileage and only three runs in handicaps so far with form of 613. Wasn’t far away lto when third and looks to be open to further progression from this mark. Will stay this trip and acts on this ground and looks more than capable of having a big run today. From a yard with a good course record and who’ve also found a patch of really solid form. Richie Mclernon in the saddle is no bad thing and Springtime Legend looks a nice price at 8/1 and is certainly not written out of winning this today.

Largely there or thereabouts recently for Kirkdale and form gong back to November last year reads 2244. Has struggled in last two starts when missing the break from arguably quite poor rides. Positive jockey change to the inform Callum Rodriguez today and has a plum draw from stall 2. Can run prominently so wouldn’t be surprised if the orders were to get out front and may be hard to peg back if given an easy time of it off this mark. Callum winning more than a third of his rides at the moment and partners with a stable that he has a stellar record for today. Kirkdale is in very good hands in a race that looks winnable. Big chance.

Queens Gamble has strong bumper form and has already mixed it in deeper races, including a Grade 1 at Cheltenham. Since going chasing, his form figures read 331, culminating in a dominant Listed novice win at Wincanton last time out.

He appreciated the drop in trip and absolutely crushed a strong favourite that day, jumping fluently and travelling with purpose throughout. The handicapper hasn’t been overly harsh and this mark still looks very workable.

Versatile regarding ground and racing in a Class 2 that doesn’t look overly deep, Queens Gamble looks a major playerand could very well follow up.

Noble Park

2.40 Newbury – 5/1
Trainer: Nicky Henderson
Jockey: Nico de Boinville

Noble Park made a bright start to his chasing career, winning his first two starts over fences. His last two runs can be forgiven – the 3m trip didn’t suit last time and the soft ground at Kempton previously was against him.

He drops back to an ideal 2m3f here on better ground, in a race that looks there for the taking. Henderson’s yard is in good form and Nico de Boinville takes the ride.

If returning to anything like his earlier chase form, Noble Park is well capable of taking this.

Royal Jet

3.52 Lingfield – 11/4

Jockey: William Carson

Royal Jet has been a revelation in recent months, with form figures since mid-December reading 1-3-1-1-1. He goes for a four-timer here and, while his mark continues to rise, it’s hard to knock him given current form.

He’s back at Lingfield, where he does a lot of his best work, and has a favourable low draw in stall 2. William Carson knows him well and retains the ride.

This is a slightly deeper race, but Royal Jet is the clear form pick, and the four-timer looks firmly on the cards.

Packetofbiscuits

4.55 Southwell – 11/4
Trainer: J Mackie
Jockey: P J McDonald

The Mackie yard are absolutely flying, operating at a 50% strike-rate over the past fortnight, and Packetofbiscuits is very much part of that run.

He won here last time out and has only gone up 4lb for that success, which still leaves him well treated. A wide draw isn’t ideal, but he tends to sit just off the pace and should be able to slot in.

P J McDonald keeps the ride and while this is a competitive race, current yard form is impossible to ignore. Another bold showing looks likely.
