Reason for Tip

Six year old who won a bumper back in 2024 and then contested a couple of very warm races including a listed event at Sandown on final NHF start. Made two starts over the obstacles so far and has been second in both of them. Has been progressive at the figures and only went down lto behind a useful type, the two of them were miles clear of the others. This race doesn’t look a strong affair and with further improvement over the hurdles highly likely, Madame La Papillon looks the one to beat. Dyson yard is small but shrewd and they’ve been picking races well recently and this looks another one. Alice Stevens gets the ride and there’s a chance she’ll need to do little more than steer this youngster today in a race that looks hers on paper.

⭐ NAP of the Day

Madame La Papillon – 2.40 Hereford (7/4)

Madame La Papillon looks the standout on today’s card and earns the NAP tag. The six-year-old won a bumper back in 2024 before being pitched into some very warm company, including a Listed NHF at Sandown. Since switching to hurdles she’s finished second on both starts, improving with each run and last time finishing miles clear of the rest behind a useful rival.

This race looks far weaker than what she’s already been competing in and further improvement over the obstacles is highly likely. The Dyson yard may be small, but they place their horses well, and Alice Stevens should have a straightforward task if this mare performs to expectation. Everything points towards a big run.

Five year old who won over C&D last year but has struggled off the increased mark since. Form reads 2P749 since March 2025 and the close fourth two starts ago was encouraging. The Moore’s look to have found this five year old a nice looking race today and he will relish the smaller field, best runs have been in smaller fields. Ground and trip are of no concern and Galactic Charm has now dropped to a mark that’s getting too low to ignore. Has a big chance today to return to form, particularly with the stable reaching for the cheekpieces again today which have served him well in the past. Stable jockey Caoilin gets the ride and he’s a talented jockey with a strong strikerate in the last couple of weeks. Yard and jockey no strangers to success here and have won 18% of contests at the track. Capable of having a big say at a nice price today. Interesting race.

🎯 Dark Horse

Galactic Charm – 4.20 Fontwell (9/1)

Galactic Charm is taken as today’s Dark Horse at a rewarding price. A former C&D winner, he’s struggled since his mark rose but has gradually slipped back down to a very workable rating. His close fourth two starts ago hinted at a return to form and this smaller field looks ideal given his best efforts have come under similar conditions.

The return of cheekpieces is a notable positive and the Moore stable tend to target Fontwell well. Caoilin Quinn is riding with confidence and if Galactic Charm can rediscover anything close to his best, he’s more than capable of having a big say.

Ex-Irish four year old who now resides with the Skeltons. Fifth of fifteen on debut at Leopardstown last December and ran very well that day behind a couple of very useful looking prospects. Has a good pedigree, likely to take a big step forward today and and the slight drop in trip is more a positive than it is a negative. Represents a major yard who are enjoying a fine spell and has a talented jockey aboard in Tristan Durrell. Tristan is running at a 20% strikerate in the last 60 days and the yard have a strong record here. Remains open to any amount of progress and on pedigree should start coming thick and fast here. Big chance.

Twelve year old Flowing Cadenza has not won for over 3 years however has not been raced regularly in that time and only had about 6 races in that period. Form since December 2025 reads R62 which shows a level of progression following fitness returning and this old boy has good form at this track including wins over C&D and looks to be on a very reasonable mark. As usual, the Williams yard have had a slow burn to the season but like clockwork have picked up come February and are now in fine form which stands this horse in good stead. Charlie Deutsch booked for the ride and he’s no stranger to Hereford success or wins for this yard. This race looks a great opportunity for this twelve year old to return to winning ways and it would be no surprise should he do just that.

Inconsistent at times for previous yards however after switching to the Walsh’s, went on to romp up at Punchestown on stable debut lto. Does run under a 7lb penalty today but that run lto was convincing and looked all too easy. similar trip here today and the ground looks perfectly suited to Well Del. This race looks a slightly tougher assignment but Well Del seems capable of defying the ride under another strong ride from Calum Hogan. Was allowed the freedom to run prominent and dictate lto and that’s likely the same tactics we are going to see today. If they let this horse have the run of things he will take some catching. Good chance at completing a quickfire double today.

Strong start to career when third of twelve in warm NHF at Aintree back in November. Was sent for a much sterner test on second start at Cheltenham in a Listed even and struggled that day. Returns back to Class 4 company today in a rather weak looking race and Berkshire Woody looks the one to beat today. Will appreciate the soft ground and represents a yard finding regular winners at the moment. Top jockey booking today in James Bowen and that’s a big positive for this youngster. James knows this track very well and has a 24% strikerate here. It won’t take much improvement at all from this horse to get the job done handily today.

An ex-Irish four-year-old who shaped well on debut at Leopardstown in a deep race. The Skelton yard are flying and this slight drop in trip should suit. Open to plenty of progress and looks a major player.

Flowing Cadenza – 3.10 Hereford (3/1)
A twelve-year-old who hasn’t won for a while but is lightly raced in recent seasons and clearly coming back to form. Has strong course form, including wins over C&D, and looks well treated from this mark for a Venetia Williams yard now hitting form.

Well Del – 3.30 Naas (4/1)
Made an instant impact on stable debut with a dominant Punchestown win. Carries a penalty but did it so easily last time that further improvement could still be forthcoming. Likely to adopt positive tactics again and could be hard to peg back.

Berkshire Woody – 5.10 Hereford (5/2)
Ran well in a warm NHF at Aintree before finding a Listed Cheltenham race too hot. Drops back into much calmer waters here and represents a Curtis yard in good nick. James Bowen is a strong booking and this looks a prime opportunity.
