Made all back in November at Newcastle and form since has been 532. Excuses can be made for a couple of those runs and Fidelius looks more than capable of winning off this current mark. Only gone up 1lb for the close second lto and this smaller field race back at Lingfield in a lower class is a combination that looks hard to oppose. Plenty of question marks over a few of these runners whereas Fidelius is consistently performing and yard have found him a fantastic opportunity here today. Marco Ghiani gets the ride and he’s no stranger to Lingfield success and has also plenty of experience aboard this horse including a win. Fidelius looks the one to beat, but not sure he will be.

Fidelius is a model of consistency and looks to have been found a cracking opportunity here. Only raised 1lb for a narrow second last time, he now drops into a lower-grade contest and faces rivals with plenty of question marks.

He’s already proven at Lingfield, Marco Ghiani knows him well, and everything points towards a big run. With conditions ideal and a small field to navigate, Fidelius is taken to go one better today.

Wide open race here in the 6.15 at Newcastle and one looks a bit of a dark horse is four year old Packetofbiscuits from the Mackie yard. Won a seller in October and since been unplaced since joining the Mackies’. Mark is now impossible to ignore and we saw a decent run lto at Southwell considering the issues with the blindfold and things looks positive for today. Usual trip in a rather weak looking race and I would not be shocked at all to see this youngster run a big race today and into the places at the very least. P J McDonald gets the ride and he’s a man in good form with a fortnightly 27% strikerate and he does a lot of his best work at this track, shown with his course strikerate of 19% in the last two years. Packetofbiscuits could well return some nice profit today at 16/1 and a place looks a very real possibility but not written out of winning this either.

A wide-open race where Packetofbiscuits could easily outrun his odds. His mark has slipped to a very tempting level, and last time out at Southwell he showed more than the finishing position suggests after issues at the start.

This is a weak race at his usual trip, and the booking of P J McDonald is a notable positive, especially given his strong strike rate at Newcastle. At 16/1, Packetofbiscuits looks a solid each-way play with place claims and more if things fall right.

This ten year old hasn’t won in a little while but is a proven winner and has six wins on the AW. As a result of a spell of subpar performances is now on a tempting mark. Showed a little extra lto over C&D when fourth and expecting a big run today from Global Warning in what is a very ordinary race, and weaker than last time. Well drawn from stall 2 and has plenty of course experience to call upon. S D Bowen aboard for the ride and Global Warning has a fantastic chance here from a plum draw to return to winning ways.

Pretty open race here in the fourth on the card at Ayr and Big Stage is the selection here. Now 0-12 as a chaser but yard reached for headgear lto and it seemed to help this eight year old who has been struggling a little over fences. Further progression now likely and this drop back in trip today looks favourable and the right choice from what we’ve seen of late. Ground is fine for Big Stage and he represents a major irish yard in fantastic form and has one of the best in the business aboard in Sean Bowen. Bowen and Elliot don’t pair together overly regularly, but when they do here at Ayr, it’s hard to ignore, they have a 63% strikerate together at this course and Big Stage is capable of furthering that today.

Doesn’t run to that level anymore but remains a talented and strong performer in this sphere of Class 4’s. Remains on a very workable mark and was only a length behind the winner when third at Wolverhampton lto. Has a plum draw here from stall 1 and this boy loves to lead from the front so likely to do just that here from this draw. If given an easy time of things up top he may be hard to catch as this trip and mark look very positive for him. Yard and jockey both in fine form currently with a strong fortnightly strikerate and Epictetus looks a major player today.

Tickets has struggled in the five races since his win at Redcar off a mark of 50. Mark has now dropped from 60 back to that last winning mark of 50 and that puts this seven year old firmly back in the picture particularly on this drop in grade back into a 0-50 race. Has a good draw from stall 4 and his last run despite being sixth of nine over C&D last month was not a large defeat, was a bunched finish. This isn’t a strong race and Tickets can capitalise on that for a yard who are enjoying a good run at the minute. Andrew Mullen gets the ride and would be no surprise to see Tickets run out the victor here today.

Global Warning may be ten years old, but he remains very capable at this level and boasts six career wins on the all-weather. A run of below-par efforts has seen his mark drop to a tempting level, and he showed definite signs of life last time when fourth over course and distance.

This looks a weaker race than he contested last time, and from a plum draw in stall 2, Global Warning should be able to adopt a handy position. With plenty of Lingfield experience and a capable jockey aboard, this looks a big opportunity to return to winning ways.

Big Stage is still searching for a first win over fences, but headgear applied last time appeared to spark improvement. A drop back in trip looks the right move, and conditions today should suit far better than some recent assignments.

He represents a powerful Elliott yard in excellent form, and the booking of Sean Bowen catches the eye. Notably, Bowen and Elliott boast a remarkable 63% strike rate together at Ayr, making Big Stage a very strong contender in an open-looking race.

Epicetus is happiest when allowed to dictate from the front, and if he gets an uncontested lead here, he could prove very hard to reel in. Yard and jockey are both in good form, and this looks a prime opportunity.
