Seeing Stars looks primed to finally get her head in front after three consecutive runner-up finishes. The form of 222suggests a win is long overdue, and today’s race looks weaker than those she’s been contesting recently.

She does have a wider draw to contend with, but that’s far from a deal-breaker at Kempton, especially with Luke Morrisaboard — a jockey who excels at delivering hold-up horses late. With further natural progression expected, Seeing Stars sets a strong standard and looks the one they all have to beat.

Verdict: Should take plenty of stopping and looks a confident NAP.

Reason for Tip

No great form to speak of in two bumpers when first seen however has shaped with a little more promise when switched for last two starts at Dundalk. 5th and a 4th in the two most recent runs and the shorter trip today looks a good change. Despite some trouble in running lto here still finished a respectable fourth and remains open to further progress. Has looked a little better for each run and that’s positive heading into today. Good draw in stall 2 to get out early and take a strong position early on to avoid the trouble in running he faced last time. Yard have an ok record here and Kidam Roque could further that here, outside chance, but a chance.

Reason for Tip

Three year old Seeing Stars has ran very nicely on all three starts so far but has yet to convert the runs into a win. Form of 222 in first three starts and looks primed to find that first win today in whats is a rather ordinary race. Does have a wide draw to contend with but has the experience and talent of Luke Morris aboard to steer her in the right direction. Likely to come over the top late which works well here at Kempton and something Luke Morris is a master at. Yard ticking along very nicely and this young filly definitely hasn’t produced her best yet. Lots to like, best form in the field by a decent margin and could take this race quite nicely if improving and progressing how we think she should.

Fairly open affair in the second race at Dundalk today and one who looks set for another big run is I’m Spartacus from the McGuinness yard. Has ran all four of his last races here at the track and form reads 6414. Only a few lb higher than last winning mark and this is arguably a weaker race than a couple of the recent ones. Has a good draw in stall 3 and a solid jockey booking in Adam Caffrey. More than capable of running strongly off this mark and if given an uncontested lead from the off, may take some catching. Good chance.

Race of youngsters and unexposed horses here and it looks ripe for the picking. One who was very green on debut and should be a big improver is three year old Porter from the O’Brien yard. Expensive purchase as a yearling and has some close relations to talented horses including Cloak Of Spirits. The extra 2f here looks a positive and has a fantastic draw from stall 1. There really isn’t a great deal to write home about for a lot of these entrants today and Porter is bred to be much better than what we saw on debut. Progression highly likely and looks a major player with Declan McDonogh aboard for the ride.

Returns to Kempton for the second time today and looks to be on a workable mark. Further progression likely given what we’ve seen already and this race looks to be a nice one for this youngster to kick on with. Outside draw to contend with but has the experience and talent of Billy Loughnane aboard and he knows very much so how to get the job done at Kempton. Major player and likely winner.

Seven year old Lady Wingalong is now from 4 wins from 20 starts on the all weather and she has been knocking on the door for a little while now. Form reading back to start of December reads 3324 and she’s consistently there or thereabouts in almost every race at the moment. Goes back up a furlong to 7f today and this looks to be a change for the positive, has plenty of good form over the trip and will make all the running. Biggest positive today is the change in jockey, Rossa Ryan booked today and he will give this mare every chance of returning to the winners enclosure today. Decent draw in stall 5, race is there to be won and she has a good chance of doing so.

A regular at Dundalk with recent form figures of 6414, I’m Spartacus remains only a few pounds above his last winning mark. Drawn well in stall 3 and in a slightly weaker race than recent assignments, he looks capable of another big run — especially if allowed to dictate matters up front.

Porter – 4.32 Dundalk (5/1)
A well-bred three-year-old from the Joseph O’Brien yard who shaped better than the bare result on debut. Likely to improve sharply for that run, the step up in trip looks ideal and a plum draw in stall 1 is a major positive. With plenty of these unexposed types looking beatable, Porter could take a big step forward.

Aneirin’s Sword – 6.00 Kempton (10/3)
Progressive youngster whose form has improved with every run, culminating in a solid win at Chelmsford last time out. This looks a sensible next step and further progression is expected. Despite a wider draw, Billy Loughnane knows this track well and Aneirin’s Sword looks a major contender again.

Lady Wingalong – 8.00 Kempton (6/1)
Consistent mare who has been knocking loudly on the door with recent form of 3324. The return to 7f looks a positive and she’s likely to be ridden positively. The booking of Rossa Ryan is eye-catching and could be the key to finally converting a near-miss into a win.
