Four year old with only one start under his belt and won very comfortably at 10/1 that day. Carries a penalty for that win today but looks to be a rather smart prospect from a yard in very good from and so is taken to defy the penalty and win again today. Remains open to plenty of progress and should come on for that first start here today. Gets the same trip today and Callum Pritchard gets the ride. Yard have a great record here and there isnt much in this field that looks overly threatening; Smile John Boy looks a likely winner here.

The Pauling yard are in excellent form and have a strong record at Warwick, while Callum Pritchard retains the ride. With expected improvement second time out and little in opposition that looks either unexposed or progressive, Smile John Boy looks the standout bet on the card.

Reason for Tip

Isle Of Gold who hadn’t been seen for almost a year on seasonal return earlier this month when unseating rider. Likely needed the run and has contested much deeper races than this previously. Usually running in class 3 and 4s and this represents another drop into a Class 5 and looks threatening on old form in this sphere. Yard are enjoying a good spell and have a good record here and J J Burke gets the ride which is a positive. Pretty open race and if this seven year old can make all the running, has a good chance of competing for the win over a suited trip and on preferred ground.

Isle Of Gold appeals as a value outsider in an open Class 5 handicap. He was returning from a long absence when unseating on seasonal debut earlier this month and should come on plenty for that run.

Previously competing in stronger Class 3 and 4 company, this drop in grade is notable. He remains on a workable mark, stays the trip well and has J J Burke aboard. With several bookmakers paying extra places, Isle Of Gold looks capable of outrunning his odds.
